To Elara's surprise, Adrian didn't move a muscle, as if he were frozen in place. It was only when they kissed that his lips and tongue moved with hers, and his body responded to her, too.
Elara pressed her hand down on him, and Adrian let out a stifled, needy groan.
Elara was so turned on by that sound that her whole body went weak. All she could think about was Adrian, overflowing with desire.
She teased his Adam's apple with the tip of her tongue, again and again, her hand never pausing for a second. That was when she noticed that his ears were actually blushing.
To find that kind of boyish innocence in a 28-year-old man made Elara's cheeks flush, and the desire burning inside her finally broke free. She unbuckled his belt, then straightened up, locking eyes with him, her gaze bold and unflinching.
She hiked up her skirt, ripped her stockings open, and was just about to straddle him when Adrian caught her, stopping her in her tracks. "Stop teasing," he murmured, his voice low and strained.
"I'm not teasing. I want you," Elara shot back, her voice husky with desire.
"You just had a fight with your mom. You're just being rebellious right now. You don't really want this," Adrian said, his voice steady but strained.
Elara took his hand and guided it between her thighs, letting him feel for himself just how much she wanted him. "Adrian, I've always wanted you. I've just been holding myself back before."
She gently nibbled on his earlobe, her voice soft and delicate, a deliberately seductive murmur right in his ear. "But today, I don't want to hold back anymore," she whispered, her breath warm against his skin.
"I'll admit, part of it is because I just had a fight with my mom and I need to let off some steam. But that's not the whole reason. You really turn me on, Adrian," she said, her voice low and steady.
She said, "Your body, your looks, your charisma, and your status... There's not a single woman who wouldn't want you. I'm just a normal woman, and I can't help but be attracted to you. I want you.
"Before, I always thought you were just toying with me. But today, I know for sure that you really love me, Adrian. You're so genuine, it makes me want to love you back. So, Adrian, can I love you too from now on?"
Elara's sweet words and playful tricks completely melted Adrian's heart. His heart trembled violently, and for a moment, he felt a rush of euphoria surge through his mind. But he restrained himself even more, taking her mischievous hand away.
Elara grinned mischievously. "What's the matter? You're always talking big, but now that it really counts, you're getting cold feet?"
Adrian's expression turned serious. "Are you sure about this?"
"I'm sure," Elara said. She reached up and unhooked her bra, tossing it onto the pile of white shirts. The black lace lingerie was especially eye-catching against all that white.
She wrapped her arms around Adrian's neck, ready to lift herself up, but he held her waist firmly, keeping her in place. Elara frowned. "What's wrong? Don't you want to?"
Adrian let out a deep breath, struggling to keep his composure. "I do... but not in the car..." He didn't want their first time to be rushed, and he wanted her to be calm and clear-headed.
Plus, the car was way too cramped. He could barely move in there. Sure, it was kind of thrilling, but they could always save that for another time. But for the first time, he didn't want it to be so cramped or awkward.
Elara thought he was just worried about getting his precious car dirty, so she could only give a wry smile. "Fine. But I really want you right now. Who knows if I'll still be in the mood later..."
Adrian wasn't worried at all. After all, whether she wanted it or not, in the future, it wouldn't be her call anymore. Once a rabbit landed in the wolf's paws, it was only a matter of time.
Adrian wrapped the naked Elara in his arms, his voice hoarse. "You just made me sound so good. Why would I ever worry about you running away?"
Elara rested her head against his chest. "I'm not running away. At least not until I've had my way with you first."
Adrian pinched her waist playfully, but with a hint of warning. "You wouldn't dare. If you try to run, I'll tear Veritasiton apart brick by brick until I find you."
Elara burst out laughing. "That sounds exactly like something the CEO says in those short dramas Ruby always watches. Hearing it from you is just too funny."
Seeing her laugh so happily, Adrian finally felt the worry in his heart fade away. "Are you happy now?"
Elara nodded. "Of course, I am. When I'm being willful, having someone who indulges me. How could I not be happy?"
Alex and Adrian were nothing alike. Their ways of comforting her couldn't have been more different.
Back when she fought with her mom, Alex would act like a caring elder, cooking her favorite dishes and bringing her the drinks she loved.
In those moments, Elara would forget all about her issues with Janice, swept up in his warmth. But as soon as Alex was gone, all that pain would come flooding back.
That's why she used to stick with Alex all the time. As long as he was around, she was happy.
But Adrian was different. He'd race with her, let her be reckless, and was always there to help her vent and process her feelings.
Earlier, when they were driving up the mountain, she saw people clearing away the roadblocks. Then, as storm clouds gathered and visibility dropped, the roadside lights lit up one after another.
She knew Adrian had arranged all of it, just so she could race without worrying about anything.
When the rain started pouring and she pushed the speed even higher, almost losing control, Adrian suddenly overtook her, cutting in front of her, forcing her to slow down and follow his lead.
He was right there with her, going wild, but never stopped looking out for her safety.
And later, when she stood by the side of the road, her emotions stretched to the breaking point. He laid his heart bare, letting Elara know she was beautiful and that she truly deserved to be loved.
Adrian wasn't the type to just cover up her pain or pretend it didn't exist. Instead, he made her face it, pushed her to be brave, and deal with it. He was helping her heal, helping her put herself back together.
"You need capital to be willful, Elara," Adrian brought it up later, settling the score.
What he meant was that he was trying to tell her that what she did earlier was a bit too reckless, and not really a good thing.
Elara accepted his lesson. He was the kind of man she couldn't help but listen to. "Alright, I'll change," she said.
"Good. Next time you want to blow off some steam, I'll take you to try something safer," Adrian replied.
Elara knew he was loaded and could make anything happen, so she just nodded and went along with it.
Elara leaned onto his shoulder, then suddenly remembered. "Your shoulder and back still hurt sometimes, right? Is that because of the car accident?"
Adrian looked over at the spot where he'd fallen. "Yeah. My back and shoulders were shattered. If the rescue team had been any later, I wouldn't be here."
Elara remembered all the blood on his back back then, and her heart tightened. "I'm just glad you survived," she murmured.
"Yeah..." he replied softly.
The rain kept pouring down, and the temperature inside the car was getting hotter and hotter.
In the end, they were forced to rein in their desire and just made out in the car, only stopping when the heater had almost dried their clothes.
Elara climbed back into the passenger seat, grabbed the almost-dry shirt, and slipped it on. "I'm starving. Kinda craving food from No. 9 Restaurant. After we eat, how about heading back to your place?"
Adrian nodded. "Okay."
