                    Tara’ POV
“Baby wake up. It’s time to get off the plane.” Killian says gently shaking me awake. I groggily open my eyes and stretch my body earning me a seductive growl from Killian. I just laugh and swing my legs over the side of the bed to slide my shoes on. I pat his chest as I walk passed him.
“Calm down, Alpha. I wanna go home.” I say and he grumbles under his breath but follows me off the plane anyways where Ian and Allen are waiting for us with a pack car.
“Alpha. Luna. So great to have you back.” they say with a small bow.
“Glad to be back.” Killian says shaking their hands. He opens the car door for me while the guys load all of our bags into the back of the SUV.
“Did you guys have a good trip?” Ian asks sliding into the driver’s seat.
“We did! I took so many pictures. I’ll have to show you guys sometime. The trip started off rocky but it ended up being incredible.” I say with a smile glancing at Killian who has a knowing smirk on his face.
After exchanging pleasantries and giving Killian a security report, we ride in a comfortable silence the rest of the way home. I must have dozed off because I suddenly felt myself being jostled and when I opened my eyes, Killian was lifting me from the car.
“Hey baby, we’re home.” he says with a smile. I nod and he carries me bridal style up to our room while Ian and Allen follow with our bags. When we get to the room, he sets me on the bed and helps the guys bring our bags in the room.
“I’ll be right back, babe.” he says and steps outside to talk to the guys. I hear hushed whispers and laughs but as I get up to go listen, Killian opens the door and comes back in.
“What was that about?” I ask curiously.
“Nothing. They’re my friends and I was just talking to them.” he says feigning innocence and I narrow my eyes at him.
“Let’s get showers and fresh clothes. Rumor is there is a surprise welcome back party for the pack’s favorite Luna in the clearing by the waterfall.” he says and I sit up straight.
“Before you even ask, I don’t know any details. I just got home so come on and let’s get ready.” he says and I hop out of the bed to shower and change.
I opt for a pretty baby blue dress that falls to my knees with off the shoulder sleeves, shimmery tulle, and a rhinestone design on the front. I pull my fiery locks into a classy yet messy bun on top of my head and add a bit of mascara, eye liner, and lip color. Once I’m ready, I slide my silver ballet flats on and head to the bedroom to wait for Killian. He comes out of the closet wearing a pair of dark denim jeans and a baby blue button up with a white shirt underneath. His hair is slicked back and he’s wearing his signature blacked out Yeezys.
“You look beautiful, love.” he says and I do a mock curtsy and spin for him.
“Thank you, baby. You look pretty damn handsome yourself.” I say and he bows with a bright smile. He reaches for my hand and gently pulls me to him. He stares into my eyes for a moment before kissing my forehead.
“Let’s get out there.” he says and I nod in return. We head down the stairs and out of the packhouse to start the walk to the clearing.
“Hold up, baby. Wait right here.” he says and runs back to the packhouse. A few minutes later he comes out of the garage driving a golf cart.
“I didn’t know you had one of these!” I say and he smiles.
“I ordered it while we were gone to make getting around the pack grounds easier without stripping and shifting every time.” he says and I laugh.
I sit down next to him and he drives us on out to the clearing. As soon as we arrive, there’s an uproar of cheering. Killian gets on the raised stage and lets everyone know we are here which makes the cheering louder. We walk around and mingle with the pack members for a while before heading to the main table to take our seats. Dinner is finally served and it is absolutely incredible. BBQ ribs, corn casserole, loaded baked potatoes, and salad plus a strawberry shortcake and triple chocolate cake for dessert. I moan as I finish my dessert and Killian laughs out loud.
“That good, huh?” he says and I nod with a large smile. Music starts playing and I see pack members flocking to the makeshift dance floor. I’m suddenly hugged from behind and let out a frightened yelp as Deidre and Serenity squeeze me. We sit and chat for a little bit but the Cha Cha slide comes on and I find myself being dragged to the dance floor. I dance and laugh with the girls for a few songs before a slow song comes on and pack members start heading back to their seats. I look for Killian and don’t see him anywhere. Suddenly everyone gasps and I realize I’m alone on the dance floor. I freeze and the entire pack yells at me to turn around.
I turn around and I’m met with my handsome mate down on one knee holding a ring box. His eyes are filled with love and tears threatening to fall. I gasp as my own tears begin to form.
“Killian… what is this?” I say barely above a whisper.
“Tara, I have loved you since I laid my eyes on you. You have made me a better man and a better Alpha just by existing. In your eyes, I have found a priceless love deeper than any ocean. In your heart, I’ve found a home like nothing I’ve ever known. In your soul, I’ve found my better half. You are the greatest gift the Moon Goddess has ever given me. Will you do me the honor of making me the happiest man and werewolf in the world and be my wife?”
He opens the ring box and there sits the most beautiful ring I have ever laid my eyes on. The tears are streaming down my face and Killian has a few rogue tears sliding down his cheeks as well. I close the small space between us and cup his face with both of my hands as I kiss him tenderly.
“Is that a yes?” he says and we both laugh as we sniffle from crying.
“That’s definitely a yes.” I say and he slides the ring on my finger. The pack erupts in the loudest cheers and howls I’ve ever heard startling me. I forgot they were behind me in the moment.
“I couldn’t leave you with a lame bedroom proposal when you deserved something grand.” he says as he wraps his arms around me from behind.
“And the pack wanted their Luna to know they love her so they all came together to make sure you got it.” and I couldn’t stop the tears.
“Every single one of you better stop and hug me before you go home!” I yell with a big smile on my face through the tears. I can’t believe how much my life has changed and I am so unbelievably grateful for everything the Moon Goddess has given to me.
“Thank you, baby. And thank you, Mystic Crystal for loving me when I thought I was unlovable.” I say genuinely. Killian kisses the side of my head and murmurs his love for me in my ear making me smile.
“We love you, Luna!” yells the whole pack at once as they clap and I can’t help the smile and tears that form.
*Three Weeks Later*
The packhouse is in absolute chaos today. Our wedding is this evening. Omegas are running everywhere getting rooms ready for visiting Alphas, setting up tables and chairs in the large dining room, and the ranked men are using some warriors to get the ceremony area set up in the garden outside. I’m sitting at the bar eating a yogurt and blueberry parfait with granola trying to be as small and out of the way as possible when Serenity finds me.
“Hey sis! It’s time for our spa appointments. You ready?” she says pulling me into a hug and I nod excitedly. We make our way down to the spa/salon combo to find Deidre, Elora, and Freya waiting for us.
“Welcome to Mystic Crystal Salon and Spa. Are you ladies ready for your bridal party treatment?” the receptionist says as we walk in. We all say yes at the same time and she takes us to the back where a group of 25 ladies are waiting for us. I immediately recognize Cassie and I’m over the moon.
The receptionist explains that each of us has a team of 5 women to get us ready. 1 masseuse, 1 nail tech, 1 hair stylist, 1 makeup artist, and 1 wax specialist. Cassie walks over to me and introduces me to the group of girls. Cassie is my masseuse, obviously, but I also have Amanda doing my nails, Lindsey doing my hair, Siri doing my makeup, and Lauren doing my waxing. After a brief meeting with the girls explaining what I want, I go back with Lauren and get my wax done. Definitely not a pleasant experience but necessary none the less. After Lauren is done, I sit down with Amanda. I opted for short acrylic nails on my fingers and silver glitter polish on my fingers and toes. By the time Amanda is done, my skin is no longer stinging from the wax so I head over to Cassie for my regular massage. After the magical massage is over, I make my way to Lindsey and we decide on a half up, half down hairstyle with a loose fishtail braid and tight curls. She decorates my hair with tiny white flowers through the braid. I’m in love with my hair and before it is completely finished, Siri appears in front of me to start on my makeup. I give her free reign since I don’t know much about makeup. She does a blue and silver smokey eye with false lashes and a nude/coral lip color. My cheeks are tinted pink, my nose and cheekbones are highlighted, and my freckles are still visible through all of the makeup. Beautiful isn’t even the right word for how I feel. We have two hours until the ceremony starts and one until the photographer takes before pictures. We tip the salon generously and sneak up the stairs to mine and Killian’s room. Elora and I help the girls with their bridesmaid dresses before Elora gets dressed and then they all help me get in my dress. I’m wearing the diamond jewelry set Killian bought me, my shoes are shimmery short heels, and finally my veil. The photographer captured all of the getting ready moments and then we made our way down to take before pictures. I wanted pictures of me with Killian’s parents and sisters, the bridesmaids, and the groomsmen. Killian had the same pictures done and then I asked for pictures of Killian on one side of the packhouse door and me on the other holding hands.
“I can’t wait to see you walk down that aisle, Tara.” Killian says before the groomsmen lead him back to the garden.
The rest of us head back inside the packhouse and the ceremony begins. Marry Me by Train starts playing and the girls start walking. Freya first, then Serenity, and then Deidre.
“Are you ready, Tara?” Winston says as he walks up beside me offering me his arm.
“Oh Winston! You look so handsome! Thank you for this.” I say wrapping him in a hug and he squeezes me back.
“You look beautiful. I couldn’t have asked for a better mate for my son. Let’s get y’all hitched.” he says with a wink and we start our walk.
Killian’s POV
Train’s song ends and A Thousand Years by Christina Perri starts. The crowd stands and turns to watch for Tara and my father. She comes into view and the crowd gasps but my heart stops and tears fill my eyes. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my entire life. Her dress hugs every curve just right and her makeup makes those green eyes pop. My dad hands her off to me and I’m still speechless. Tears are rolling down my cheeks and she’s trying not to cry but her smile is brighter than the sun.
“You’re so beautiful.” I whisper to her.
“You’re not too bad yourself.” she whispers back.
She hands her bouquet of blue and white lilies, white roses, baby’s breath, and greenery to Deidre before taking my hands and facing me. Elder Zacchaeus begins the ceremony with the typical “we are gathered here today” stuff and goes through all the motions until it’s time to say our vows because Tara and I wrote our own.
“Killian, please recite your vows.”
“Tara, I have been waiting for my mate my whole life but to find someone as special as you is something I never imagined. You’re my forever friend and one true love. Calling you mine makes me a lucky man but marrying you today makes me a feel like I have won the lottery. I promise to always be your greatest cheerleader, biggest fan, and partner in crime, I’ll build a family with you in a home of patience, love, and understanding. I vow to show you faithfulness and unending patience, total respect and lightheartedness, attentiveness and self-improvement. In your triumphs, I will celebrate with you. In your failures, I’ll love you even more. Either way, I vow to always help you overcome anything you may face as I give my life to you today.”
There’s not a dry eye at this wedding. I’m crying. She’s crying. The crowd is crying and even Elder Zacchaeus is crying.
“Tara, I’m not sure any of us have the tears required but you may now recite your vows.” he says making everyone laugh.
“Killian, you found me when I was broken and wasted no time putting all of my pieces back together. You loved me when I thought I was unlovable and believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself. You’ve given me a family and a home I’ve never had before. There are no words to thank you. I believe in you, the person you will grow to be and the couple we will be together. With my whole heart, I take you as my husband, acknowledging and accepting your faults and strengths, as you do mine. I promise to be faithful and supportive and to always make our family’s love and happiness my priority. I will be yours in plenty and in want, in sickness and in health, in failure and in triumph. I will dream with you, celebrate with you and walk beside you through whatever our lives may bring. You are my person—my love and my life, today and always.”
She smiles and wipes away a tear from my face with her thumb. I lean into her hand and kiss her wrist as she rubs her thumb on my face. Elder Zacchaeus holds up a pillow with our wedding bands.
“Do you, Killian Malachi Walker, take Tara Justine Lancaster to be your lawfully wedded wife?”
“I do.” I say as I slide the ring on her finger.
“Do you, Tara Justine Lancaster, take Killian Malachi Walker to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
“I do.” she responds as she slides my ring on my finger.
“By the power vested in me by our Moon Goddess and the great state of Colorado, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride.”
I pull her to me and dip her backwards as our lips collide in a passionate kiss. The crowd cheers and claps as we kiss. We stand up straight and face the crowd.
“MYSTIC MOON AND GUESTS, I HAVE THE SINCERE HONOR OF PRESENTING TO YOU MR. AND MRS. RAYNER!” Elder Zaccheaus booms and the crowd erupts in alarmingly loud cheers and howls. She collects her bouquet from my sister and we head down the aisle together as the crowd is tossing handfuls of bird seed in the air.
We get to the conference room that is currently set up for the bridal party to snack and drink before pictures and the reception. I wrap my arms around her and pull her close to me.
“I love you, Mrs. Walker.” I say and she beams.
“I love you more, Mr. Walker.” she responds.
We’re married. We’re mated. We’re marked. She is officially mine in every sense of the word and I couldn’t be happier. The smile on her face and look in her eyes tells me she feels the same way.
