                    Tara’ POV
“We shall see.”
As soon as he shifts into his dark brown wolf I shift into Lola and allow her control. She lets out a howl that echoes through the forest telling our troops the time has come. The battle begins and I don’t know where Killian is but I know that I have to focus on Atlas. I half expect him to lunge at me but instead he takes flight and hovers in the sky. Lola follows suit and snarls at him as they fly in circles. I notice something that looks like a flame on his tongue when he snaps and snarls at us.
“Lola he’s going to use fire!” I scream at her and she dodges the stream of flames and hits his wing with several energy balls. He’s struggling to stay in the air now and before he can react Lola shoots more energy balls at his other wing making him fall from the sky in a spiraling motion until he landed on a giant boulder.
“I bet that hurt.” Lola smirks and I can’t help but chuckle in the back of her mind. She lands gracefully on the grown and retracts her wings.
“Get down here and fight me like a man, you coward.” she mindlinks him and his eyes snap to her with anger and hatred brewing beneath them.
He slowly stalks his way down the boulder and lunges at Lola. She dodges and swipes her paw at his side leaving deep, long gashes. He lets out a yelp and lunges for her again only to be swiped by her massive paw on his other side. He lands with a thud and before he can get to his feet Lola jumps on the wolf’s back sinking her teeth into the back of his neck and slashing anywhere her paws can reach. He is able to throw her off and he turns to face her snarling and growling. He stalks around her in circles looking for a sign of weakness or an opening of which Lola shows none. Suddenly a rogue jumps on our back from behind while we are facing Atlas’s wolf. The rogue bites Lola’s neck but before it can do any real damage a giant black wolf jumps over, grabbing the wolf by the neck, and snapping its neck as soon as it lands. Remus.
“No one hurts my mate.” he huffs to Lola to which she growls at him seductively as if we aren’t in the middle of a war.
She turns back to Atlas to find him charging her and she immediately spreads her wings and flies up. Unable to take flight anymore because of his burned wings, he resorts to snapping fireballs at Lola hoping to burn her wings or knock her down so he can kill her. At this point, we’ve been fighting in this war for 2 hours and the sounds of chaos around us are dying down. The battle is ending and the main event hasn’t even taken place yet. I take control from Lola after she instructs the nearby witches to put a shield around Atlas and I. I shift to my human form and stand across from him while his wolf snarls.
“Your army has fallen, Atlas. My troops have defeated yours. It’s time to surrender and end this.” I say with venom in my voice and Atlas’s wolf snorts and huffs before charging me.
I extend my claws and charge towards the wolf. Just before we collide I slide down underneath him and dig my claws in from his chest to his behind. He howls in pain and I jump to my feet before he can. I grab his hind legs and use my telekinesis to throw him into the boulder. I hear a sickening crack as he hits the rock and I see his wolf is struggling to stand and breathe.
“Good. Keep it up.” Lola says and I just smirk as I watch the wolf.
We’ve been going rounds of him lunging at me and me clawing him up for hours now. The entire pack and our allies are sitting outside of the shield just watching and waiting. Lola is getting tired of this cat and mouse game with Atlas. She just wants to kill him and I want to drain everything from him slowly then kill him. Suddenly he shifts back to his human form and collapses on the ground.
“You win, white wolf. I’ll leave.” he says and I let out a laugh. He looks up at me with fiery hatred burning inside.
“You’re not leaving here until I kill you.” I snarl at him. He thinks he gets to live with actions like this? No sir. I will not have to fight this war twice. Once is enough.
“You don’t have what it takes to kill me, b*tch. You would have killed me already if you could but I’m stronger than you.” he says arrogantly.
“My wolf has wanted to kill you for hours but me? I wanted to drag it out. Shred your skin and muscle. Drain your blood. I wanted to hurt you as much as possible before I killed you but I’ve had enough of this cat and mouse game.” I snap back at him and he finally stands up.
“Bring it on, c**t.” he says and Killian or Remus let’s out a ground shaking roar from the sidelines. I can’t help but smile.
Atlas shifts back to his wolf and I shift back to Lola. They walk in circles stalking each other for a while before Atlas finally lunges at Lola. He misses her tail by a hair and she snaps her head around, grabbing his hind leg in her mouth and clamping down. She yanks her head back and the deafening cracks of breaking bones, sounds of ripping flesh, and the howl of agony echo for miles. The wolf cannot stand on three legs but Lola is not done. She lunges at the wolf and rips his other hind leg off before digging her claws into every major organ. The wolf is howling in agony and I’m sure I’ll hear the sound in my nightmares for months. Without warning, Lola latches on to the enemy’s throat as tight as she can and rips her head backwards taking an enormous chunk of fur and flesh with her. The sound of him gurgling and the sight of him bleeding out makes me wretch but Lola simply howls in victory. Cheers and howls of joy erupt from our pack members and allies.
“Burn the body, Tara.” Lola says and I look at the mangled human body in front of me. If I didn’t know who it was, I would never be able to identify him.
“You really did a number on him, Lola.”
“So did you, Tara.”
With that thought I conjure all the energy in my body and aim it at the body. The body disintegrates into dust before my very eyes and a sense of relief washes over me. It’s over. The prophecy has been fulfilled. Suddenly I feel strong arms wrapping around me and the familiar sparks on my skin. Killian. I turn around and his blue eyes are shining like the ocean. He’s covered in blood and so am I but that doesn’t stop either of us from crashing our lips together in a desperate, hungry kiss. A loud cough pulls us out of our moment and we laugh at ourselves.
“How many did we lose?” I ask the crowd.
“We lost no one.” says Dimitri the vampire.
“We also lost no one.” says Kaiya and her coven of witches smile behind her.
“We lost no one.” said Tina, the Fae, and Tory, the Fairy, at the same time.
Each pack also comes forward announcing they’ve lost no one and finally I look at Killian in complete awe.
“We didn’t lose a single member of our pack or our army to this war and it’s all because of you.” he says. The tears are streaming down my face at the realization. My protection spell worked.
Killian suddenly takes a knee in front of me and so does Kaiya. Everyone else follows suit and I’m left standing alone in the crowd.
“Queen Tara, you saved our lives and we will always be indebted.” Kaiya says and the rest of the supernatural creatures sound off in agreement.
“QUEEN? No. I’m merely a Luna and a blessed wolf but I’m no Queen.” I say looking at this woman like she’s lost her mind.
“It has been written, Luna Tara. You defeated the demon wolf and now you and your mate will rise up as King and Queen of the supernaturals. You and your offspring will bring harmony and peace amongst all species. Your reign will bring about a time of great peace.” Kaiya says and Killian grabs my hand.
“Tara, you are my mate. My Luna. My wife. My Queen. If you’ll have me, I’d love to be your King.” he says and I can’t help the smile that forms on my face despite the tears.
“There’s no one else I would want by my side.” I say pulling on his hand and he stands up to kiss me while picking me up by my thighs.
“All hail King Killian and Queen Tara!” Kaiya yells and the crowd goes crazy screaming, cheering, and howling.
“Take care of that pup. You have suffered enough, Tara. Great things are coming.” Kaiya whispers in my ear as she hugs me and I just look at her stunned.
“Are you saying…?”
“Yes, my Queen. I am.”
“What did she say, Tara? What’s wrong?” Killian says and I stand there completely shell shocked before finally looking up at him.
“Killian… I’m pregnant.”

        “We shall see.”
