Nicole’s POV
As soon as Hannah said her sister was still out in the woods, Killian, Jude, and I jumped up to go search for her. When we heard Hannah’s story, we knew we had to help them.
“All warriors not on patrol, meet me in the clearing behind the pack hospital in 5 minutes. All warriors on patrol, keep your mindlink open for the meeting.” Killian said in a mass link to all the warriors. We stand in the clearing talking amongst ourselves and within 5 minutes all of our pack warriors are present. Killian tells them about Hannah and how Hannah’s sister is still out here and we have to find her. They break off into teams and comb through the East side of our territory where Hannah was found. The 3 of us head in different directions to search for her as well but it has been roughly 2 hours and nobody has seen her yet.
“I’m going to go check around the lake and clearing. Maybe she moved after Hannah was picked up.” I tell Killian and Jude through mindlink and they agree to meet me there. On my way I get a faint whiff of hazelnut and strawberries. My wolf, Dakota, begins to stir restlessly in my mind. I follow the scent in the direction of the lake until I see the source. My mate. Curled up against a rock in wolf form is a grey and white colored wolf. I step out from the trees and she senses me. She immediately snarls with her hackles raised.
“Easy, girl. You don’t have to be afraid. I’ll never hurt you.” I say as I approach her. The wind suddenly shifts directions and my scent hits her. The wolf whimpers and shifts into the most beautiful girl I’ve seen in my entire life. Her curly black hair is matted with mud and leaves. Her body is bruised, dirty, and scratched all to hell. But she’s still the most precious thing in the world to me.
“Mate…” she whispers and I nod with a smile.
“Can I come closer?” I ask and she nods in return.
I close the distance between us and her hazel-green eyes captivate me.
“My name is Nicole. I’m the Beta of Mystic Crystal.” I say and she gives me a small smile that doesn’t quite reach her eyes.
“My name is Janah. I’m a Beta’s daughter but I ran from my pack so I understand if you need to reject me.” she says diverting her eyes to the ground. I use my thumb and index finger to tilt her head up to mine.
“Nothing could make me do that.” I say and plant a gentle kiss on her lips. Tears fill her eyes and she clings to me as she sobs. I pick her up and start walking towards the pack hospital when Killian and Jude come out of the woods.
“Is that her?” Killian asks in the link.
“Yes. She’s my mate.” I say smiling and they follow me to the pack hospital to reunite Janah and Hannah.
“Thank you, Moon Goddess.” I say as a silent prayer for the woman in my arms.
Jude’s POV
Who would have thought Nicole and I would end up with mates that are twin sisters? As we follow him back to the pack hospital, a twinge of jealousy courses through my body. My mate was scared of me and wouldn’t let me touch her but Nicole’s mate was happy to be in his arms. Nicole decided to take Janah to shower, change clothes, and get some food in her before bringing her to the hospital so Killian and I head to Hannah’s room. As soon as the door opens, the scent of orange and chocolate floods my senses and calms my body. My mate is sitting cross legged on the hospital bed and her hazel-blue eyes meet mine with a small smile instead of fear. I go to take my seat in the chair and she reaches for my hand. The sparks ignite and make her gasp but she doesn’t pull away.
“Hi Jude. I’m Hannah and I’m your mate.” she says quietly and I smile as the relief fills my body.
“Hi Hannah, I’m the Gamma of Mystic Crystal.” I say with a smile and she smiles back. I lift her hand and place a small kiss on the back of her hand.
“You have got to be the most beautiful creature I have ever laid my eyes on.” I say and I watch a blush creep up her cheeks.
Before anything else can be said the door to her hospital room bursts open and Janah launches herself at Hannah. I back away to stand with Nicole while the girls cry and embrace each other. Tara and Killian walk in and smile at the scene in front of us. The Luna places her hands on her heart at the sight before glancing over at Nicole and I.
“I’m so happy to see you girls reunited.” Tara says to get their attention. They both snap their heads around and bow immediately.
“None of that. You girls are mates to our Beta and Gamma. You’re family.” Killian says and the girls slowly raise their heads.
Seeing Tara and Killian smiling must put them at ease because warm smiles spread on both of their faces before they start introducing Nicole and I to the opposite sister. The room’s once heavy and gloomy atmosphere was now happy and light. The girls were laughing with each other and telling stories about each other to us but I think we all knew that a serious conversation was coming.
“As much as I love to see you both doing so well, we have to talk about where you came from and why. We need all the details so we can be prepared for any trouble that may land at our borders. We just fought a war and became King and Queen so we-“ Killian says when he’s interrupted by the girlsso loud I thought something terrible was happening.
“You… You are the b-blessed w-wolf? The white wolf with w-w-wings and m-m-magic?!” Janah stutters out and Tara nods slowly looking very confused. Hannah’s jaw drops and all of us are silent.
“Your majesty, we apologize for intruding and bringing trouble.” Hannah says baring her neck in submission.
“I’m sure Killian said to cut that out. Royalty or not, you’re family. Now please… let’s talk about you ladies.” Tara says and the girls nod in response.
“We are the daughters of the late Beta Jeremy Madden from the Shadow Moon Pack. The Alpha’s sons, Nate and Lane Jameson, are 26 and still have not found their mates. They had hoped Janah and I would turn out to be their mates when we turned 18. They were furious when it turned out the Moon Goddess had chosen differently. They took our virginity by force and beat us until we were nearly dead.” Hannah says and I feel Conan trying to take control hearing that another man violated what is ours. Her tears begin to fall and she reaches out for me. I pick her up bridal style and hold her in my lap while she buries her face in the crook of my neck and sobs.
“They thought we were dead… They carried us out into the woods in No Man’s Land so we wouldn’t be found. We were lucky no rogues or other animals tried to scavenge on us. Anyways, when we woke up we started walking and when your warriors found Hannah, she had just passed out from the exhaustion. Probably dehydration and starvation as well. I heard patrol coming so I climbed a tree and masked my scent the best I could to prevent being found.” Janah explains and Nicole walks over to her. He wraps his arms around her and she leans into him.
“I knew I wasn’t strong enough to fight but I was scared if I tried to fight they’d kill us on sight so I waited. I had hope that Hannah was safe but I had no idea my mate was here too.” Janah continues as we all nod.
“I’m truly so sorry for what you girls went through at Shadow Moon at the hands of your future Alphas.” Tara starts and looks between all of us before continuing.
“Is it safe to say that everyone accepts the other as their mate?” she asks with a wide smile and we all say yes in unison.
“One at a time I need both of you to renounce them and the Shadow Moon pack. For instance, you would say “I, Hannah Madden, renounce Alpha Roger and future Alphas, Nate and Lane as my Alphas and I renounce all ties to the Shadow Moon pack.” Killian says and the girls immediately obey him.
“Okay, now you’ll do something similar only you’ll be pledging your loyalty to myself and the Mystic Crystal pack. Janah, you will say ‘I, Janah Madden, hereby pledge my loyalty to the Mystic Crystal pack and Alpha Killian. I accept my role as the Beta female and promise to uphold the laws of the pack to the best of my abilities.’ and Hannah you’ll say the same only using Gamma instead of Beta.” Killian explains once more and the girls follow his instruction again.
He cuts a small slit in the palm of his hand and each of their hands before shaking hands to mix their blood as we do in new member ceremonies.
“I, Alpha Killian Walker, accept Hannah Madden and Janah Madden into Mystic Crystal as the Beta and Gamma females.” Killian says and we all feel the tug in our minds of a new pack member joining.
Killian must have mind linked them because their eyes widen to the size of saucers and they squeal so loud I’m sure my ears will bleed.
“Welcome to Mystic Crystal, Sweetheart.” I say to Hannah through mindlink and she blushes again with a huge smile on her face.
The sounds of pups crying echoes in the hallway as Killian and Tara stand to leave. Tara pauses and looks at the girls with a bright smile on her face and tears in her eyes. She was a victim of abuse as well and Killian saved her so I can only imagine how she feels seeing these two girls that suffered from physical and sexual abuse as well.
“Welcome to our family, girls. You’ll be safe here.”
