Tara’ POV
I wake up before the sun is up and quietly slip out of bed. Killian and I snuggled all night watching TV and just enjoying being in each other’s arms. Today was the first day before the next battle started and I made sure to get up early to assist the Omegas in preparing rooms, houses, and the campgrounds for our allies. Over 1000 people of all different species will be trickling in over the next 3 days.
“Luna, Miss Kaiya and her coven have arrived.” I hear the gate guard say through the mindlink.
“Let them through but don’t wake the Alpha. He needs his rest.” I respond and quickly close the link. I throw on some black leggings, socks, and a tshirt before grabbing my tennis shoes and sneaking out of the bedroom. I slide my shoes on and hurry down the stairs to greet the witches.
“Queen Luna! So nice to see you again.” she says with a bow and I wave her off holding my arms open for a hug.
“Oh Kaiya. So good to see you as well. How are you? Let me show you to the rooms we have ready. I’m afraid I have to go make sure the campgrounds and empty homes are ready for the other allies.” I say holding her hands.
“You know, we could help you and King Alpha with a castle fit for royalty.” she says gesturing to the group of women behind her.
“Really?” I respond and they all nod enthusiastically.
“Show us where you would like it and we will work our magic.” she smiles proudly. I return her smile and gesture to the door.
I run in the garage and grab our 8 passenger golf cart. 7 of the ladies sit in the seats with me and 5 of them ride on the roof of the golf cart. I take them to the clearing where all events are held and when we get out they begin talking amongst themselves.
“Kaiya? I don’t know anything about being royal or castles so please just make this entire area whatever you imagine.” I say nervously. All of their eyes widen and jaws drop. Kaiya has a knowing smirk on her face and nods at me. I smile and wave as I make the drive back to the packhouse and leave them to their work.
“Why isn’t my mate in the bed with me?” I hear Killian’s groggy voice through the link and smile to myself.
“Because she’s up getting ready for our guests and greeting Kaiya.” I replied back.
“You should have woke me up. I’ll be down in a few.” Killian says before closing the link. I park the golf cart and head inside.
I make my way to the kitchen where Hannah and Janah are standing with clipboards in their hands giving out orders to the Omegas.
“What’s up, girls?” I say making them jump.
“You scared us, Luna. We are just finishing up the safe room restock. Does all of this look good to you?” Hannah says as she hands me her clipboard. I look everything over and nod my head with a smile.
“Everything looks great. Good job, ladies. I actually just came to get some breakfast before I get to work.” I say.
“Go ahead and take your seat, Luna. I’ve got all your favorites ready. I’ll dish it up and bring it out.” Freya says and I kiss her cheek as I walk past her to the main dining room.
“There’s my beautiful girl.” Killian says as we walk into the dining room from opposite directions at the same time. I can’t help the smile that forms when I see him and I imagine my eyes look like they’ve got hearts in them.
“Hey baby!” I shout as I jump in his arms. He hugs me so tight before pulling back and pressing his lips against mine. I send a quick link to Freya letting her know Killian is here as well.
We sit down at the table and have our usual morning small talk as we wait for breakfast. A few moments later Freya comes out with 2 plates of French Toast with powdered sugar, extra crispy bacon, crispy hash browns and fluffy scrambled eggs. She places our silverware, maple syrup, salt, and ketchup on the table before heading off to get our drinks.
“I will never understand how you do that.” Killian says looking a bit disgusted. I laugh knowing exactly what he is talking about but choose to play dumb.
“Do what? I’m just eating.” I say innocently and he narrows his eyes at me.
“Ketchup and salt on your eggs and hashbrowns AND you dip your bacon in it. That’s so gross.” Killian say as he fakes a gag while I take another bite.
“Oh hush and eat your own food. Stop worrying about mine.” I say waving him off while I eat.
As soon as I finish my food, I quickly kiss his cheek and head to find the house Omegas to assist with cleaning rooms and stocking them. I find them in the stocking closet and they freeze in place.
“To what do we owe the pleasure, Luna?” says the head Omega with a smile and confusion in her eyes.
“I’m going to take a cart and get all the rooms on the Alpha floor ready. Don’t worry. I’m just here to help.” I say with a bright smile and they all gasp.
“Ladies, I was an Omega before Killian found me. I know how hard you all work and although we pay you well, I still want to help when I can. Please.” I say and they nod. They couldn’t have refused me anyways but they were clearly apprehensive.
“No one is going to be in trouble. The Luna and I sincerely just want to help before we go to training.” I hear Killian behind me and smile without turning around. The Omegas let out a sigh of relief and load a cart of supplies for us to take up to the Alpha floor.
“You’re going to help me clean the rooms on our floor?” I ask in amazement. Most Alphas would never even consider it.
“My love, if you’re helping, I’m helping. We’re a team and we are setting an example for our pups and our pack members on how a good Alpha and Luna operate. We fight TOGETHER, clean TOGETHER, cook TOGETHER, parent TOGETHER, and lead TOGETHER. All things TOGETHER.” he says putting emphasis on the word together every time he says it.
“I don’t know what I did to be blessed with such a wonderful Alpha to call mine but I hope I keep doing it. I love you.” I say with a smile as I wrap my arms around his waist and squeeze him as tight as I can.
“I love you too, my love. Now teach me how to get these rooms ready for our guests.” he says kissing the top of my head. He’s never had to clean his own room, let alone the entire floor of rooms, but he was still so ready and willing to learn and help out.
“Right this way, Alpha.”
