Killian’s POV
“Right this way, Alpha.” Tara says. There’s something about the way she calls me Alpha that gets me worked up inside and she knows it.
I follow her to the first bedroom on our floor and she begins explaining step by step how she used to clean rooms for guests at her old pack. We strip the bed and put new bedding on it. We stock towels, toilet paper, and toiletries in the bathroom. We vacuum the carpet and clean the tile in the bathroom. Actually, the entire bathroom gets a good cleaning. The shower/tub combo, the toilet, the counters, and the mirror are all shining when we are done with them. I am breaking a sweat at this point. I never knew how much work the Omegas put into cleaning the rooms. Did they all do this or just Tara? Either way, we weren’t done. I help her dust every piece of decor, clean the windows, clean the TV screen, sweep off the balcony and wipe down the patio furniture, and when all the cleaning is done she sprays Febreze on the curtains and carpet to make sure the room smells fresh. We did this in all 15 empty rooms on the Alpha floor. Occasionally there were light bulbs that needed replaced and I did those. By the time we closed the door on the final room, it was getting close to dinner time. 12 hours to clean every extra room top to bottom. We take the empty cart back to the supply closet and head back to our room to shower before going down for dinner.
“Usually Omegas clean rooms in teams of 2 to 4 so it doesn’t take them 12 hours.” she says as if reading my mind.
“You were planning to do all of that by yourself today. You’d still be working.” I said shocked at the realization and she nodded. I pull her to me and kiss the top of her head trying to soak in how lucky I am to have her as a wife and Luna..
We quickly shower and change into comfy yet presentable night clothes before going downstairs for dinner. As soon as we walk into the main dining room, I notice the only people at the table are the ranked members, my parents, and my sisters. I glance around the dining hall noting we are, indeed.m, the only people here.
“Where’s Kaiya?” I ask curiously and everyone except Tara shrugs. She begins looking around as if she is just realizing they aren’t here.
“Hmm. They must either resting or still back in the clearing working.” she says and it catches all of our attention.
“Working?” Nicole says confused looking between Tara and I. I shrug as I also have no idea what she’s talking about.
“Oh yeah..” she nervously laughs.
“I guess I didn’t tell anyone. Given the fact that we are the King and Queen, Kaiya and her coven Selene using magic to builds us a castle fit for royalty so we have more room for situations like these.” she says and everyone’s jaws drop at the table. Including mine. Before anyone can respond the front door opens and in walks Kaiya with her coven.
They are beaming with excitement but still show us respect by bowing. It doesn’t matter how many times we tell her it isn’t necessary, she insists on bowing and calling us by our titles.
“My King. My Queen. You new castle is done. After dinner we would very much appreciate if you’d give us the honor of presenting it to you.” she says and Tara squeals in delight.
“Absolutely! Go get washed up and we will leave as soon as everyone is done with dinner!” she says stomping her feet under the table in excitement making everyone laugh.
Not long after the witches return, the Omegas start serving dinner. First is the drinks we all requested and just a few moment later, the food is served. Our plates consist of 4 baked salmon steaks, roasted Parmesan potatoes, lemon butter broccolini, and Alfredo pasta.
“This is so good.” Tara says and we all nod enthusiastically in agreement.
45 minutes later and the Omegas bring out molten lava cakes with vanilla ice cream for dessert. This was easily one of the best dinners we have ever had. When we finish dessert, Kaiya and the other witches look at us a with a look of giddy expectation.
“I’ll go grab the golf cart.” I say as I kiss Tara and run to the garage. I grab the 8 seater even though there are more than 8 people going. It’s literally the biggest one we have.
I pull up to the front of the packhouse to a large group of people waiting for me. Tara and I lock eyes and she smiles so brightly. I love the way she loves me.
“Sorry guys this is the biggest golf cart we have. We will have to do 2 trips.” I say as Tara gets in the passenger seat.
“No need, my King. Now that we have been there we can use our magic to teleport over to the castle. But I would like to drive and have you all blindfolded so it’s a surprise. If it isn’t too much to ask.” Kaiya says and I look to Tara who is already looking at me.
“I trust her. If you’re okay with it, then so am I.” she says through mindlink. I nod at her and look over to Jude, Hannah, Nicole, and Janah who all nod or shrug in agreement.
“Alright, you can drive.” I say with a smile as Tara move back to the second seat. Nicole and Janah take the seats behind us and Jude and Hannah sit on the very back seat. Kaiya conjures up some blindfolds in her hand and then hands them to all of us.
We blindfold ourselves and Kaiya starts the drive back to the clearing. As an Alpha, I don’t really appreciate not being in control or being able to see what is going on. There’s too much risk of traps or being ambushed but we trust Kaiya and her coven. I have to keep telling myself that everything is safe. Kaiya is driving so slowly, clearly uncomfortable with the large vehicle, and I can’t help but chuckle at this fierce warrior of a witch being so scared to drive a golf cart for a few minutes.
“You sure you don’t want me to drive?” I shout up to her as I stifle my laugh.
“Yes, I’m sure. It’s been a few decades since I drove any vehicles and I just want to make sure we get there safely.” she responds and my eyes go as wide as silver dollars when she mentions not having driven anything for more than 10 years.
“She didn’t say what I think she said, right?” Nicole says nervously through the mindlink since we can’t see each other to speak.
“She absolutely did. She hasn’t driven in 10+ years and I just handed her the wheel with all of us in it.” I respond with my own nervousness. I hear him groan out loud and pull Tara closer to me.
After 10 more minutes, we come to a complete stop and I feel Kaiya get out of the golf cart.
“We are going to help you out of the golf cart and lead you to the front of your castle.” she says before I feel her hand on my arm.
Once I’m stable she leaves me, probably to get Tara from the cart, and then loops her arm around mine to guide us where she wants us. We take 10 paces and stop. I feel Kaiya’s hands on my shoulder to stabilize me where she wants me and I feel the sparks of the mate bond on my arm as she places Tara beside me. Tara hooks her pinky finger around mine as we stand there awaiting further instructions from Kaiya. The sound of Kaiya’s loud and excited voice startled both of us.
“Okay… One! Two! Three! Open your eyes!”
Tara’ POV
As soon as Kaiya yells for us to open our eyes I rip the blindfold from my face and gasp at the sight before me. I’m completely speechless and I don’t hear any sounds coming from the rest of the ranked members either. The building is bigger than anything I have ever seen.
“We tried to keep it modern in appearance since you two are still fairly young and of the modern era. We did have to magically relocate some trees but this has everything you could ever want. There are 1800 rooms in the castle. The 5th floor is the Alpha’s floor, 4th floor is the Beta’s floor, 3rd floor is the Gamma’s floor, 2nd floor is for visitors, and the main floor has the kitchen, dining halls, conference rooms, offices, a recreation room, and a movie theater. The basement has the laundry room and secret doors to two safe rooms for the elderly, women, and children.” she says and my eyes widen further.
This castle is made of solid black stone with gold accents everywhere. There are no large towers like older medieval castles have. This looked more like a mansion with a modern look. Grand windows are scattered thinly around the walls in fairly symmetrical patterns and the pillars have designs etched into them. The gravel path to the stairs is lined with the most luscious green grass and rectangular planters that hold hundred of brightly colored flowers.
As we walk up the gravel path, I see 4 tiered water fountains on my left and right with black stone benches for people to enjoy the scenery outside. The landing at the top of the stairs has tons of patio furniture and a covered fire pit creating a cozy place to hang out. There are so many little details I’m sure I’ve missed.
Everything is so detailed and beautiful I can’t stare at any one thing long before finding something else. We stop in front of 2 large wooden doors painted black with ornate designs all over in gold and a gold door knob. Killian reaches out and opens the door with ease and all of us gasp again at the beauty of our new home. The walls are emerald green with an intricate gold pattern and the floors are white and gold marble. There are 2 staircases leading to the second floor and an enormous gold and diamond chandelier hangs from the ceiling. Every room is decorated with beautifully crafted furniture with antiques and artwork grace the walls. The kitchen has 8 electric stovetops with ovens, glass front cabinets displaying the chinaware, a pantry the size of a bedroom, and there are 5 huge refrigerators with 4 doors.
“Kaiya… All of this is so beautiful.” I say but she stops me and tells me I haven’t even seen the best part.
We walk back to the foyer and to a door I didn’t see before sitting off in the corner. She instructs me to place my hand on a pad right outside the door. After it scans my hand the door pops open to present a large elevator. I press the up button and the elevator doors open allowing for all 7 of us to comfortably get in. We drop Jude and Hannah off on their floor and Nicole and Janah get off on their floor.
When the door opens on the Alpha floor my heart nearly stops. Instead of a hallway of rooms, it opens to an enormous penthouse. A large black brick fireplace is in the center of the room with a 70” flat screen TV mounted above it. One black L-shaped left facing sectional and one emerald green L-Shaped right facing sectional are pushed together with a fluffy, gold rug in the middle of the floor. A glass oval coffee table sits on the rug adorned with a vase of sunflowers and roses. There are doors all along the walls on both sides and straight ahead behind the fireplace are 3 steps that lead to a set of double doors.
Killian and I exchange a look before walking to the doors. We push the doors together and unveil the master bedroom. Our bedroom. In the center of the room is a California King bed with a four post headboard, footboard, and a sheer black canopy hanging down. There’s a sofa at the end of the bed, a TV mounted to the wall, and another smaller fireplace under the TV.
To the right are the two walk-in closets that could double as another room and to the left is the en-suite bathroom. The shower is separate from the jetted bathtub in the corner, the shower has 8 shower heads. Two rainfall shower heads at the top and 3 small ones on the sides. There are his and her sinks with cabinet space and everything is black and gold marble.
“Okay, grand reveal is over. What do you think?” Kaiya says and I break down in tears completely overwhelmed with emotions.
“You ladies did AMAZING, Kaiya.” Killian says with his own voice cracking with emotions. I nod fervently and embrace her while I sob.
“Now, now, my Queen. There’s no need for that.” she says and after a few minutes I’m calm and able to breathe.
“We can use the original packhouse for pack members or visiting guests that won’t fit in the guest rooms.” Killian says looking at me and I nod again. Kaiya smiles at our conversation before clearing her throat to catch our intention.
“What do you say we go to some training in the new training center so we can beat this imbecile Alphas in 3 days?”
