It was quiet in the atmosphere that was surrounded around me . No sound's , no key's dangling around me . It was just myself in a dark cell .
My back was laid against the mattress trying to occupy myself by starring at the dirty ceiling that was above , I've been in the box for more than 16 hours now .
I was not fucking with this shit .
"Nigga why you so quiet ? Speak your mind Key!"
"Bro , ion have to speak my mind cuh?" I still had my back layed back looking over at the wall replying back to my brother.
I knew he wasn't here visibly , but he was inside this cell in my mind right now . "You know your ass lying cuh ." Ace chuckled lightly slowly making his way towards the bed .
Ace sat down beginning to get comfortable , tending me to pick myself out of the position I was in making more room for him to sit . "I miss you Key."
"I miss you too bro ." Having my hand out dapping him up , releasing a smile was slowly trying to form on my face. "They still won't let me see mama."
"Maneee." Ace drags his words , shaking me off . "Cuh , you know they only keeping you away from mama because she knows a way to get your out this bitch."
I shrugged lightly . "I want to get out though foo."
"Nigga no you don't , just serve yo sentence and wait cuh." Ace say's sucking his teeth . "You try and escape like that nigga Woon yo sentence gon boost the fuck up ! On the dead homies ."
He continues , "You know Woon ain't even yo dawg nomore bro." Ace gives me a disappointed look . "Them guards tryna fuck up his view towards you Key ."
"What they be saying Ace?" I asked moving my head back hearing the door knock for a couple of second's shifting my body around . "Ay man , what y'all want?"
"Who are you talking to?" One of the guards asked waiting for my response banging on the other side of the door . "I don't repeat myself to inmates , who are you talking to?"
"Nobody man." My head flew back on on wall behind me looking over to the side noticing Ace wasn't there anymore , it low-key had me feeling low .
I needed his company . "How many more hours do I have boss?"
"8 more hour's kid." Clear his throat . "Did you eat the food the food they gave you before?"
"Cuh." I chuckled lightly getting on my feet walking over towards him , placing both of my hands on tiny bars peeking out through the whole . "You know they sneezy in our foods bro , they not even hygienic in that kitchen."
"And what do you want me to do about it?"
"Obvious knock some sense into they heads boss!" Sucking my teeth . "I'm not trying to catch no food positioning with this unhealthy as prison ."
He laughs back keep direct eye contact with me . "You've been in this prison for how many years and just found that out?" Giving him the middle finger as response. "Key you still have thing's for the nurse's?"
"Hell yeah!"
"Your the main reason they keep getting fired , we've all seen prison break before . You are not going to have your Michael and Sarah moment."
"See now you just bringing negative energy around my circle." I shaked my head trying to look around the area through watching a bunch of guards and inmates making they way towards us . "Boss you know em?"
"Um ." He looses his attention of me looking at over them then back at me . "I only see Naj."
"The fresh meat?." He nods his head at my response , now deciding to make his way over to them bringing back Naj . "..."
"Hey Key."
"Watchu planning?" I asked having on a confused look trying to see what was happening behind him but the guards were blocking the view . "Naj right?"
He nods his head raising his left eyebrow a few times. "Woon switched on you."
I scoffed scratching the back of my head . "You barely know the nigga , what you on? Swea y'all making me lose my mind in this dark as cell."
"I'm just telling you." He began's to whisper moving his head closer . "Key , you seem coo as cuh . Just watch your back with him please?"
"Not believing words from a whole random." I sucked my teeth waving him off , lightly sniffing my nose . "Naj you've only known Woon for a week , I've known him for more than 5 years ."
"Time of length don't mean shit ! I'm going to leave you alone now before your boy's start shit with me ." He say's causing me to just stare him down not moving a single bit .
"How you even down here anyway's?"
"Kevo bragged the guards with some chicken he got hooked up from someone in the second isle , you know how black folks." Chuckling lightly . "Bye Key."
"Kid ion even know you , shut the fuck up ."
He clicks his tongue shrugging lightly while I smiled looking at Kevo and Paco making they way over to me . "Imagine being in the box , not me through stay safe!"
"Kevo fuck you ." I chuckled showing him the middle finger through the small bars. "How y'all been? What's up ."
"Brooo." Kevo's laughs already in a happy mood pushing Paco for a few seconds . "Would you believe me if I said I double crossed Paco on the courts today?"
"On the dead homies you ain't!"
"On the dead homies I did cuh!" He chuckles shaking his head . "You saw how he was limping ."
"I wasn't fucking limping cuh." Paco suck's his teeth . "I just woke up on the bad side."
"Nawl , Paco stay lying dawg." I laughed looking at Kevo laughing even more . "By how much points though?"
"6-2 foo! Say I ain't ready to be in the NBA??"
"Don't get your hopes up goofy." Paco replies . "I was going easy on you , even ask the guards that were out that courtyard today."
"They gon say you lost to the most dumbest nigga in the prison." Kevo looks at Paco , now flicking his head . "Dumb bitch you lost cuh."
Paco replies back to Kevo . "I'll knock you out right now! Say I won't ."
"Dawg y'all go back and fourth like sum bitches." I brought myself in the conversation laughing on the side .
Kevo smirks not knowing that whatever Paco say's he does it no matter what. He never backs out on anything . "You won—"
Paco grabs a hold of Kevo's collar cutting him off slamming his head on the brick wall , two times . "You said I won't ? Huh? Huh?". Paco repeated for a few times sucking his teeth , now letting go of Kevo's collar .
Kevo mugged at him sniffing his nose beginning to touch it . "Shit ain't even hurt." He replies waiting the dripping blood of his nose with his arm , sticking his tongue out . "Paco you slam like my little sister."
"Keep bullshit your words Kev , yo nose look pretty fucked up right now." Paco laughs . "Yo guard ! Guard ."
"You going to see the nurse right now Kevo?" I asked watching him nod his head .
"Key I know you not blind bitch." He scoffs . "Yo , Paco if my nose broken .. count yo days ! I'll hoe you out bro ."
"Bro shut up ." Paco waves him off letting Kevo distance himself away from us . "You good man? You seem stressed."
"Yeah I'm straight." Nodding my head . "People just telling me that Woon switching up now , like what I do to make him think like that?"
"Ion know." Paco shruggs . "It's probably just rumours , don't believe nun right now bro ."
"Nawl , at this point ion even think it's a rumour . Cause Ace came up to me and said that Woon ain't even my dawg nomore . Like we dead brothers in this prison."
"Ace?" Asking with a lost tone . "Yo dead brother Ace key?"
"Mhm."
"You still seeing things again?" I nodded my head watching him do the same thing again . "Yo .. your ass got schizophrenia ."
"I know nigga , atleast I still get to see and talk to the people I lost you know ." Shrugging dryly . "But , when you go back in our cell . Dig your hands in the toilet and pull out a knife that I kept down there. It's wrapped in plastic."
"Hell nawl." He laughs shaking his head . "You want me to stick my hand in the toilet bro?"
"I mean , I said that right . And what's wrong? It's for your protection Paco the hell."
"Nigga..." He pauses making a gag noise . "It's the toilet ."
"So , you ain't like that's the only grimey shit in here . It's for your protection only , trust me . You trust me right?"
"Yeah bro."
"Ight , then just listen to what I said Pac."
