ALPHA TRISTAN’S POV
I got the news of Lorraine’s plan from my men a few days ago and I have been trying to reach someone… anyone from Crescent Pack so I could warn them but no one answered their damn phone.
Not Hazel!
Not Fiona herself!
Not even her dumb ex-mate who was a goddamn Alpha!
I also haven’t heard from any of them in days.
Heck! I wanted to believe they were still in Crescent Pack but I’d be a fool to think that, especially after I got the news that Hazel was found unconscious in the middle of the road with a coffin and there was no sign of Fiona and the twins.
“I still don’t understand why we are still here instead of going out there to search for them,” Dolf grumbled impatiently even though the men I sent out were on their way back to the pack with Hazel and Jessica’s body. “Sending men out isn’t enough-” “You do know I have an advantage, right? It’s clear that Lorraine’s plan already went through and her people have Fiona and the kids.” I retorted, hoping to shut my wolf up. He was becoming too judgemental for my liking. “However, Lorraine is on her way to me as a prisoner. I’ll get Fiona and the kids back even if I have to cut her brain open.”
“I guess we’ll see about that.” Dolf snapped at me just as my Beta strolled into the meeting hall.
I wasn’t holding a meeting but I have been spending many hours of the day here for the past few days. Aside from my library, this was the only place that helped me organize my thoughts. However, I also knew it would be a good place to question Hazel who should be walking in with Louis at this moment.
“I thought you would be showing up with Hazel.” I voiced in an instant.
Louis bowed to me, “I thought so too but she was still unconscious when she arrived in the pack. I went to the healers’ ward to get news and I was told that Hazel was in a drug-induced sleep. She was injected and the drug was strong. She might remain like that for the rest of the day according to the healer.”
That means I can’t get answers from Hazel. That wasn’t satisfying but I chose to ask, “How about Jessica’s body?”
“Surprisingly, she is still in good shape. What will you have me do about her, Alpha?” Louis muttered firmly.
“Inform her family about her demise and ask them if they would like to handle the funeral privately or if we could honor Jessica grandly and bury her in the warriors’ cemetery,” I responded, wanting nothing but honor for Jessica.
“Noted, Alpha.” Louis nodded but I knew there was more when his brows furrowed and he proved me right. “I wonder why Hazel and Jessica were just dropped off like that. Hazel could have been killed or taken with Fiona and the kids and Jessica’s body could have been trashed.”
While Louis’s words hit me, anger surged within me not because of My Beta but because of the strong presence I could feel moving towards us.
My wolf etched, “She has arrived…”
Louis also perceived the new scent in the air and he blurted, “Lorraine…”
I took two steps closer to the door, waiting for it to open and show me the face of the bitch who tried to hurt the people I loved. The person who took Jessica’s life. My body shook despite knowing that I had to control my anger. Losing my anger would mean killing Lorraine immediately.
But I shouldn’t do that… not if I want to get Fiona and the kids back from Lorraine’s minions.
“We can finally get answers.” I seethed as the door opened.
Lorraine was brought in blindfolded. Two of my men were dragging her on both sides while a few others followed behind. Lorraine’s lips curved into an annoying smirk as she inhaled deeply, taking in the scents around her.
“If it isn’t the indestructible Alpha Tristan.” She sounded amused and that broke the tiny ice of control that I had managed to seal over the pure rage coursing through my veins.
I stormed towards the crazy bitch, yanked the blindfold off her face, and while she blinked rapidly to get used to the brightness in the room, I slapped her as hard as I could, busting her lips.
“What the fuck-” She yelled in pain.
But I slapped her again, hoping that would reset her brain.
Lorraine’s eyes widened but I couldn’t get my mind off the fact that the redness of her cheek looked better than the usual color. Perhaps that was why I smacked the same cheek again, hoping that it would make her understand that she wasn’t here to be treated like royalty.
This wasn’t Crescent Pack.
This is Black Fur and she was about to see the ugly part of Black Fur if she didn’t start talking and behaving like the prisoner she had become.
“With the smirk wiped off your face, I can control my desire to kill you just like you killed my warrior,” I uttered each word coldly.
To my surprise, Lorraine still had enough fire in her. Enough to snap at me with a glare, “I didn’t ask that bitch to put her faith in Fiona. She could have saved her but she selfishly chose her son over her friend.”
I couldn’t believe her audacity.
“Tell me how that is my fault…” She concluded, yelling in my face.
I decided to focus on getting Fiona and the kids back before bringing Jessica’s death into the conversation again. My fists tightened beside me as I asked, “Where are they?”
“I have been with your men for days. I don’t think I’m in the position to answer questions-” “Where did you have your dogs take them!” I snapped in her face, losing my cool once again.
Fear flashed through her eyes yet she didn’t give me the answer I needed. “I do not know.”
Perhaps I was going too easy on her. She was a feisty one and I would enjoy breaking her. I looked at Louis, ordering him, ” Take her to the torture room and have her strapped to the table. I’ll be there in a minute.”
“Understood.” Louis chimed and Lorraine was yanked in the direction of the door.
Fearfully, she resisted and exclaimed, I really don’t know where they are. My men were supposed to bring her to me since your men snatched me away, I have no clue.”
“Then you are useless to me. I might as well kill you this–”
Lorraine countered, “No, you shouldn’t because I can get them back but I’ll need my cell phone.”
“Get her her cell phone,” I said to the men standing behind her without questioning her but I was told that they tossed the phone which made me bark, “Then get her a cell phone!”
After all, all she had to do was call her men, right?
Then Fiona and the kids will be brought home to me… right?
However, that one call would make me realize that nothing was right.
