LARISA’S POV
In all my years of relating with Lucas, first as his lover and then as his Luna, I have never been disrespected by him. After living with him for over six years, I can boldly say he was nothing like the savage that Tristan was.
That son of a shit slapped me like he was trying to break my face.
I didn’t see those jaw-crushing slaps coming even though I had realized that the people who took me were not Lucas’s men before Alpha Tristan removed the blindfold. Lucas men would have still treated me like I was human but these ones didn’t give a fuck about me. I presumed the only reason they didn’t kill me on sight was because Tristan wanted to have the honor to himself.
My heart was racing like the continuity of my life depended on how fast it could beat as I thought about what my life had become overnight.
I, Lorraine Sutherland, Crescent’s precious Princess who later became their most wanted Luna candidate was now a prisoner to someone who seemed to only care about Fiona.
How the tide has changed.
I recall the days Fiona was a prisoner to someone who only cared about me-
“Make the damn call before I change my mind about keeping your head on your neck.” Alpha Tristan snarled at me, reminding me of the task at hand.
My hands shook visibly and the unfamiliar cell phone that was given to me almost fell but I pulled myself together and put on my bad bitch face. I was Lorraine Sutherland these savages shouldn’t see me tremble in fear.
While Alpha Tristan was nothing like Lucas, I somehow admired him despite my stinging cheek. He was a man. An Alpha without emotions unlike Lucas and a part of me was excited about that fact. How much fun would I have with Tristan if I made him my new project and ally?
But the bastard was crazy about Fiona-
“If she won’t make the call, take her to the torture room-”
I countered firmly, “Take a chill pill, big guy. I’m trying to recall my aide’s cell phone number. If I had known your men wouldn’t be kind to my device, I’d have memorized the numbers perfectly.”
Alpha Tristan simply sent me a glare and that encouraged me to input Jake’s familiar number on the phone. I dialed it and put it on speaker just like Alpha Tristan wanted. Together, we all went quiet as the line connected.
I was about to say, “He isn’t picking up”, but then he did and I swallowed those words but breathed into the speaker, “Where are you, Jake? Did you get them?”
I inhaled sharply when Lucas’s voice reverberated through the hall, sounding nothing like Jake. “Hello to you too, witch! Or should I call you by your real name?” Lucas seethed, taking me by surprise. Lorraine was my real name but he had already renamed me and he announced it by saying, “Murderer.”
I couldn’t help but freeze but Alpha Tristan stood close to me, putting a knife to my neck. He whispered to me, “Play it cool. He better not know you are here.”
“If it isn’t the man I once loved.” I stood straight as I said in response to Lucas.
Like the emotional wreck he was, he barked, “You don’t know what love is and I hope you had fun sleeping with my gamma and turning him into your errand boy. You won’t be seeing him again-”
“Like I care. I can get me some good cock any day, Lucas unlike you who wouldn’t be getting fucked even though you fucked my plans.” I interjected.
I cared about Jake but if he was useless enough to get caught by Lucas, he wasn’t worth my time.
Alpha Tristan stiffened behind me and he made me ask after Fiona and the crazy demons she called children. “Live a short and unhappy life with Fiona and your demons. I’ll be back soon to ruin your lives like you did mine.”
I asked in a way that wouldn’t sound suspicious to Lucas who icily responded, “You killed them. You took them away from my life so what else is left to ruin?”
The knife Alpha Tristan was holding to my neck pressed dangerously close to my windpipe when he heard those words and I stuttered, “T-they are dead?”
“Don’t start acting like you care, Witch. While I no longer have anything and no one to lose, you do. I’ll find you, Lorraine and you will watch your mother burn just like I had to watch my family burn to death because of your twisted games. This isn’t the end-” I was beginning to have a feeling that Lucas was crying as he said those words to me but before I could confirm, Alpha Tristan ended the call.
“You had them killed!” Alpha Tristan went ballistic, smashing the cell phone against the wall.
His face turned red as if there was a fire under his skin and his orbs changed color, turning into a voidless kind of black as he seized me with up with those eyes.
“I d-did no such t-thing…” I let out, pleading with him to reason with me. “Lucas must be lying. He wants to keep them for himself. I bet Jake didn’t leave Drak Moon Pack and neither did Fiona and the kids-”
“Then explain why Hazel and Jessica were found by the roadside!” he barked again, sending shivers down my spine.
His wolf was dominating at the moment and wolves can be very unpredictable when they experience an emotional meltdown.
“That was part of my plan. I didn’t want to have to deal with those two while keeping Fiona and her kids hostage and I also needed someone to make you know that they were missing so you can get into a fight with Lucas, pressuring him to succumb to me.” I explained, trying so hard not to shake before his towering and intimidating frame.
“You thought you had a perfect plan but how perfect is it now that you have killed my family!” A terrifying growl pushed past Tristan’s mouth. “Take her to the torture room!”
“No! No, wait!” I exclaimed but his men began to drag me away.
I would be a fool to not know what Black Fur Pack was capable of doing. They were notorious and a torture room sounded more like an abattoir and that scared me shitless.
“I can be of help to you. Please hear me out!” I cried.
“Can you bring My Family home?” Another growl.
I stuttered, forgetting about my bad bitch composure, “No, but I can help you conquer Crescent Pack as you’ve always desired.”
Upon hearing my words, his shoulder tensed and his eyes shifted back to their number color after a minute of what I assumed was an internal debate between him and his wolf.
Alpha Tristan returned to his less emotional self and he queried, “You can?”
Confidently, I answered, “Yes, I can.”
“Good. I wanted to torture you till you take your last breath since you had nothing to offer but now that you do, I’ve changed my mind.” He stated coldly. I sighed in relief too soon because the next second, he concluded, taking the life out of me, “I’ll torture you until my wolf feels better about losing our loved ones.”
My eyes widened as I asked myself, “How long will that take?”
A few days to forever was the answer I got and I just knew that I wouldn’t have it easy in this shitty place.
Despite my struggles, I was tied to what Alpha Tristan called the torture table by his men and when he eventually came into the dark room and got his hands on me, I screamed but not because ecstasy was rocking through me… it was the opposite.
And if I was a cat, I would boldly say, I lost six lives on that goddamn table.
