                    LARISA’S POV
Icy cold water hit my body all of a sudden and my eyes flashed open, air rushing into my lungs.
“You don’t get to sleep.” Alpha Tristan snarled at me.
Was I even sleeping? Hell, I just closed my eyes like what? Ten minutes ago?
He wouldn’t leave me alone for crying out loud.
If he wasn’t inflicting pain on me, his men were and somehow, they all managed to make me lose my mind without leaving a single mark on my body. I would explain if I could but after being tortured for… I have lost count of days. The pain was just too much-
“I can’t sleep. My wolf can’t sleep but you think you can sleep?” Alpha Tristan snarled again, walking into a corner of the torture room while I tried to yank off the restraints holding me to the table but I failed like the other times.
I whimpered, “Haven’t you done enough? I can’t take any more-”
My voice broke when he stepped into my line of view. His eyes were red, the bags under them were huge and he was wearing a night robe which tells me he was supposed to be in bed.
“How many days has it been? How much longer can you keep doing this to me?” I cried, unable to stop myself from looking miserable and vulnerable.
His eyes were void of emotions just like I have known them to be but he somehow managed to look colder tonight and that wasn’t helping the fact that I was cold. The water he poured on me was still dripping off my cold skin and the fact that my clothes had been ripped in different parts didn’t help.
However, Alpha Tristan didn’t seem to notice the cold or my struggles.
Rather than answer my question, Alpha Tristan chimed coldly, “I thought I’d just teach you to never mess with Fiona and the kids again but it’s been a week and they haven’t been found. The warrior I trained wouldn’t just stay in the wild if she was alive. She knew how to contact my pack for help. All my warriors do.”
He took a short pause, pulling a small knife from the pouch he placed on the table closest to where he was standing. “If Fiona isn’t trying to reach me, she is dead and that will be your fault.”
Anger flared dangerously in his eyes and despite my weakness, I could clearly see grief in his eyes. Oh, he must have loved Fiona and her demons. I didn’t care about their death. As a matter of fact, it pleased me to know that while Lucas took my dad from me, I took his beloved Fiona, plus two minions, from him.
However, their death would affect me because Tristan would take it out on me.
“You’ve ruined everything. My plans, my entire future. I’ve spent many years putting everything together but look what you have done!” The sudden switch in Alpha Tristan caused my brows to furrow but a scream son broke past my lips when he dug the knife into my arm.
Pain blinded my sight and mind. I didn’t know when I exclaimed, “I can fix this. I can fix your plans just please stop hurting me!”
Despite my screams and tears, Alpha Tristan didn’t flinch. “You can’t, Lorraine. You might be a dark witch but Fiona was the key. The key to my heart and future.”
Before he could draw another pint of blood from my body with his savage methods, I blurted, “You never loved her.”
I wasn’t sure until I said those words and I saw that they had little to no effect on his emotions.
He never loved Fiona.
Yet he retorted, “You are one to speak about matters of the heart when you failed to love Lucas even with Fiona out of the way. Unlike you, I love Fiona-”
I chuckled, hiding my pain, “Oh, do you? Or you are just like me, Alpha Tristan.”
“We’re nothing alike.” He was quick to counter.
“But we have so much in common,” I argued. “You want Fiona because she can help you bring Lucas down but now that she is gone, you think your plans have failed.”
“You don’t know what you are talking about-”
Maybe I didn’t but I continued speaking regardless, “She’s gone, Alpha Tristan but I’m still here and we have the same enemy – Lucas. If we join forces, we can bring him down together. You can achieve your dreams and I can finally show him that he made the wrong decision when he chose Fiona over me.”
I couldn’t tell if I presented my case well enough and the thought of losing this chance scared me. I couldn’t bear the pain or any more seconds on this table. I needed an escape and if making a deal with the devil was my escape route, I would.
“My witch friends once told me about your mom and how she sought to have the kind of power I have. Your mom believed she could use it to win the great war but the witches didn’t give her dark powers even though they helped her in other ways. I might be weak right now but a few rituals would strengthen me and I can be of help to you.” I quickly added, trying so hard not to let my desperation slip.
But hell was I desperate.
“Unlike your mom and your dad, we can win. Together.” I concluded, hoping that this would work.
Alpha Tristan was a manipulator himself so I wouldn’t be able to manipulate him. I knew that much.
If I had nothing to bring to the table, he would kill me. As silence lingered between us both, I could only hope that my offer would cut me a deal with the devil.
