LARISA’S POV
“That’s impossible!” I yelled and the five Black Fur warriors before he trembled.
Yes, they were terrified.
They were scared of me.
As they should be. After all, I’m their Luna. Their powerful Luna who they wouldn’t want to cross. I could turn them into a quick snack with the flip of my fingers.
I could end their lives because I was that powerful now. Mating with Tristan and using his life force to fuel my powers have been fulfilling. I might have entered this pack as a prisoner but now?
Now I was the ruler.
And this ruler is pissed.
All five of them stuttered, “Apologies, Luna Lorraine—”
“Shut the fuck up!” I seethed, rising from the golden throne that was recently made for me and placed right beside Tristan’s throne. “I gave you simple instructions. How could you have returned empty-handed?”
“We searched for the exact locations. Luna but we couldn’t find the warehouses. There was nothing on the land-”
“That is impossible,” I repeated.
My father’s warehouses were there. I knew the locations and it would be crazy if they vanished overnight. Those warehouses not only stored my family resources but also modern weapons that would help Black Fur warriors against Black Fur Warriors. Unlike their traditional swords, bows, and arrows, the weapon in my father’s warehouse would do much more damage.
“It’s the truth, Luna Lorraine,” Louis said to me, bowing his head to show respect while the five warriors crouched before me like weeny roaches. “These men are the best trackers we have. They wouldn’t make a mistake.”
“Are you saying I’m lying? Or wrong about my family’s property?” I snapped at Louis even though he and I have been able to work on our relationship because of the position we held in the pack… plus he knew his place better after Tristan punished him for our little game, while I got fucked repeatedly.
Oh, dear goddess-
“No, Luna. I’m saying someone has gotten to the warehouses before us.” Louis said to me just as Tristan made his way into the throne room which had been renovated to suit the position and and I would again after the war- Alpha King and Luna Queen.
Gosh, I couldn’t wait.
Tristan walked majestically toward us and he asked, “What’s going on?”
Our relationship was not one of the affectionate ones. It was business but the mate bond kept us drawn to watch each other which was why I haven’t drained him completely.
Yes, Tristan was more or less a living shell now.
Sure, he could walk. He could talk. He could fuck my senses out and make me scream but he couldn’t be the Alpha his people need anymore.
If they had noticed the difference in Tristan’s aura, they would not have pointed it out because I have my hold on this pack. They could feel my aura growing stronger and just two weeks ago, I publicly performed a ritual with the heads of the warriors that tried to speak back to me.
While I was thinking about my grass-to-grace experience in the Black Fur pack, Louis updated Tristan, telling him about how I asked him to send warriors to some warehouses, blah blah.
Tristan didn’t seem to understand my dilemma as he asked, “You did such without my permission?”
Was he crazy?
“Permission? That’s all you got from what he said?” I asked with a snarl.
Tristan seemed confused as he growled, like a lion cub, “You sent my men out without my permission, Lorraine, and—”
“My family legacy has been stolen, Alpha Tristan! All of it. I’m sorry I didn’t ask you but what could I have done? You have been sleeping more than usual. Always tired and never have time to take a look at the pack or the war plan.” I snapped at Tristan right there before his warriors and Beta.
And I didn’t stop there. “When was the last time you joined your warriors on the training field? When was the last time you met with the elders of the pack? Can you even remember the last time we discussed the takeover? But do we have thrones ready? You need to wake up, Tristan!”
No, he doesn’t need to wake up.
I had him where I wanted him to be.
But once in a while, I tried to make him appear in control so his wide range of uncontrollable pack members wouldn’t come together to save him from me.
Divide and conquer they say but I wanted to divide, unite, and control this pack.
“Remember your place, Lorraine. This is my pack.” Tristan snarled at me.
I faked being scared, stepping away from him with my hands up in surrender as I said, “This is my pack too and I’m just saying what everyone has been thinking, Alpha.”
Before Tristan could respond, Louis said, “It’s strange that the warriors didn’t find anything in the locations you provided, Luna. Someone is onto us and those weapons were supposed to help us take over Alpha Clinton’s pack.”
I cleared my throat, “Yeah.”
But I was more concerned about attacking the Crescent Pack as soon as possible. I wanted my mom back and also to see Lucas’s face when I finally killed his mother.
Louis dismissed the warriors before he asked me, “Is there someone else that knows about the locations?”
“There was but I assumed he was dead,” I answered as it clicked in my mind― Jake was still alive.
Maiden didn’t kill him.
That was the only logical reason because I knew that my mother didn’t know much about my father’s warehouse. Jake knew though.
“I believe Lucas has started making moves. We better make the next move or we will miss out.” I uttered without explaining further.
“What would that be?” Louis asked, looking at Tristan and I.
Tristan seemed confused so I answered, “Fortifying the warriors and getting weapons. Not swords. Real weapons.”
“We can get those from Clinton’s pack.” Alpha Tristan finally contributed and he commanded, under the impression that he was still in charge, “It’s time to take over that pack.”
If that would get us weapons to destroy Lucas? Sure but Goddess knew I just wanted to match with the warriors to Crescent and wipe Lucas and his supporters out!
I guess all I had to do was wait… a bit longer.
