                    LARISA’S POV
What I will give up just to get back at Lucas….
No. Lucas has become a smaller fish in the sea of power whose waves I yearned to control. Even Tristan has become nothing but a chess piece on my chessboard. The plan to take Tristan out was already in motion and while he tries to recover from how I use his energy, I have been planting seeds of either fear or forced respect into the important pillars of his pack.
Tristan wouldn’t be able to stop me from taking over and ruling this realm with or without a mate by my side.
I mean who cares about mates?
The stupid version of me who was actually in love with Lucas did care about him becoming my mate but this new me would sacrifice anything to be the only one in charge.
I laughed contentedly as I strolled along the corridors that led to Tristan’s office as I recalled his failed attempt to change my mind about fueling my power with the fetus’s life force.
“If I could use my wolf’s and my destined mate’s life force to become strong enough to charm Lucas, why would he think an unborn child would be where I’d draw the line?” I thought to myself.
He was a joker.
I thought Lucas was the fool but Tristan has become a bigger fool, orchestrating his own downfall.
Tristan would soon be of no use to me.
And this baby came at the right time-
My thoughts were cut off when a strong hand yanked me into another corridor and before my eyes could adjust to the dark corridor, I was pinned against a wall… more like slammed onto the wall by a snarling Louis.
He questioned, his warm breath hitting my face, “What are you doing to him!”
I looked at him with amusement as I tried to free myself from his tight hold but Louis simply pinned my shoulder down with force, earning a wince from me.
“You are one stubborn piece of shit.” I snarled, balling my fist as anger crackled within me.
“What the fuck are you doing to him?” Louis ignored me as he fired that same question at me, rage glinting in his eyes.
“I can’t believe you are still loyal to him after he didn’t hesitate to punish you-”
“My only regret was helping you and believing that you have the best interest of this pack in your dark heart. You are a selfish witch.” Louis gritted, realization flooding his senses.
However, I could only laugh at him.
“Funny how men think they are smart, stronger, and cunning but you lot are just stupid, egoistic, and muscular beings. You couldn’t have chosen not to help me, Louis. I was strong enough to charm you and if I didn’t, Tristan would have eventually come to me because we were mated to each other. I would have tapped enough strength to make myself irresistible and he would have fallen regardless.” I whispered with a smirk.
Louis was about to bark again but I shushed him and continued speaking, “Men either want sex from women or want to use women to achieve their goals just like Tristan wanted to use me to defeat Lucas and sometimes, you men want both- Sex and power. I can give you both, Louis if you help me choose to help me eliminate Tristan and before you argue, I will eventually achieve that on my own so think carefully. I’m giving you a chance to become my partner.”
Louis’s hands fell from my shoulders as shock struck his core. I removed myself from between him and the wall and walked a few feet away from him before I chimed, “And oh, about your question.”
His eyes found mine just as I answered his question, “I’m using Tristan just like he planned to use me. He failed because I’m a witch who can drain his life. I’m more powerful, Louis and nothing is stopping me from killing him.”
When I do it, it’s evil.
But when men like Tristan choose to use women like me to achieve greatness, it’s a good leadership decision. Logical beings, yeah?
Hypocrisy in the world.
Fuck the standards because, with the baby in my womb, I’ll be unstoppable and the only reason I was trying to get Louis on my side was that I needed him to handle any form of a fightback from the pack members when I finally become their Alpha and dispose of Tristan.
I would need to focus on leading Tristan’s army- I mean the army I fortified to Moon Stone Pack. I wouldn’t have the time to tame opposition.
“Will you be a man who willingly chooses to be my partner with no intention of using me or will you be one of the many fools I will have to take out?” I asked Louis before walking away.
I knew what his answer would be because when it came to men, the only one I was unable to bring down was Lucas even though I charmed him and manipulated him for many years.
Lucas resisted and I have been wondering how he was able to resist me even after I sacrificed my wolf to make myself powerful.
As I walked back to my room, a part of me suspected that Fiona had something to do with that- the bond Lucas refused to cut off must have been useful.
I also thought about how Jake told me Fiona found my prisoners and I was grateful that that bitch was dead. I didn’t have the time to start asking myself how Fiona became stronger…
So it was a relief that she was sent to hell. Where she belonged.
“There would be no stopping me,” I muttered, smiling victoriously but there was a growing fire on my roof and I didn’t see it until it burned down my house…
But I did have a few wins before that happened. Or maybe not.
