Fiona
“I’m destined to die in war, Fiona,” Lucas said clearly, his soul breaking as those words made the air around us thickened.
He was already dying even before his supposed destined death.
Since we were telling the truth, I breathed, “What makes you think I don’t know?”
Lucas didn’t understand me at first. He shook his head, looking at everything but me as we stood still on a deserted path, ” You don’t understand, Fiona. I’m going to die. I saw it in my predicted future when Susanna read my memories-”
“And I’m saying that I saw it in a vision that is more reliable than a Memory Reader’s predicted future. I saw it happen, Lucas.” I interrupted, explaining to him so he could understand me.
Lucas’s eyes went from confused to shocked and then to hurt but eventually settled for pity. All of these emotions crossed his eyes within a minute as silence hung between us.
“You knew?” Lucas asked with disbelief.
I nodded, “Yes, I knew. I found out in the first vision that I had and-”
“And you didn’t think to tell me?” Lucas cut me off.
I scoffed, “Like you told me when you found out and you found out before me. I didn’t even get clarity until we kissed in my hut back at the hidden pack but you did because Susanna was there with you and you made her lie to me.”
“I did that because I didn’t want to hurt you, Relia.” Lucas’s voice was much more gentle as he said those words to me.
“Likewise,” I stated. “I didn’t want you to know that I found out because I didn’t want you to worry about me. Whereas, I wasn’t in love with you back then. You were just an annoying-”
“Does that mean you are in love with me? Now?” Lucas queried darkly, calling my attention to my mindless confession.
I tried to speak but my throat dried up. I suddenly felt my anger melting away, replaced by embarrassment. Heat rushed up to my face, creeping from my neck.
“Cat got your tongue now, huh?” Lucas chuckled.
I rolled my eyes at him, turned around, and was ready to run away from this conversation.
However, Lucas grabbed my arm. Tighter this time, making it impossible to break free from his hold. “You don’t get to run away, Relia. Answer the question.”
“Well, I don’t hate you. If I did, I wouldn’t have slept with you last night but thinking about it now that you left me alone in the room after sex, I believe I should hate you-”
He cut me off with a lower tone, “Stop beating around the bush and answer the question, Fiona Seer King.”
Lucas’s hands circled my waist and he pulled me to himself like he wanted me to enter him. No one would believe that we were mad at each other a few minutes ago.
No one would believe I intended to break his back when I picked him up earlier.
Even I couldn’t believe it as I answered, “Yes, Alpha Lucas Flockhart. I feel that emotion for you.”
Lucas laughed, “Seriously?” he coated the air with his fingers, “So ‘Feel that emotions for you’ is how you intend to tell me you are in love with me?”
“Yes, Alpha Lucas.” I shrugged. “That’s all you get until you make amends.”
“How do I make amends?” He asked as if he was dying to hear me say those three words to him.
I muttered, holding his gaze, “By marking me, Lucas. By trusting me fully. By not being a dickhead just because of destiny-”
“You know I want to, Fiona. You know I want to make you mine and link our souls but what good is your soul if mine is ripped from it and you are left to suffer in this world.” Lucas argued.
I understood his fear and that only proved his love for me.
Although I wasn’t certain I could save him yet, I believed I would save him.
Therefore, I said, “You won’t be ripped away, Lucas. You won’t die either, so cease being a coward and mark me.”
For how long are we going to let destiny just unfold without fighting it and changing it?
“Find a way to keep everyone from the apartment tonight and complete the mate bond with me even though we cannot have an official ritual yet… just mark me,” I whispered to Lucas.
His body tensed under my touch, agreeing with me even though his soul was torn between wanting to claim me and the need to protect me even when he wouldn’t be around.
Be he would be around.
“Don’t make me beg, Lucas. You should be the one chasing me, remember?” I uttered when he didn’t respond.
Lucas smiled, sighing, “Okay. I’ll make arrangements but you should know that I won’t hold back… I won’t be able to as soon as I decide to mark you. So I advise you to visit the clinic for pills if you don’t want my seeds growing in your womb by tomorrow morning.”
That was both a warning and a threat.
My breathing became shallow as I imagined what tonight would be like for us both.
I was still sore from last night and-
“But you are still a horny bitch…” Inara who hadn’t said much since I woke up this morning, mumbled into my mind.
I ignored her and said to Raidden, “Then you get yourself a sweet deal, Alpha Lucas. See you tonight.”
Lucas chortled as I sashayed away from him, “I’ll get those words out of you tonight, Fiona|”
Now that was a promise that had me bubbling with bliss. I went straight to the Pack Hospital to ask Pheobe for pills like a naughty and sexually active teenager.
Phoebe pulled my legs but soon broke my bubble of bliss when she said to me, “The pills won’t kill immediately. Give it a week before you play that bedroom sport with Alpha Lucas, Luna Fiona….”
She thought she was still being funny but the fun flew out of the window as soon as her words hit my eardrums.
