He hadn't called.
Clara has been trying to get my mind off grabbing my phone every two seconds but I couldn't help but worry. Why hadn't he called me?
"Delilah?" I turned to the voice and saw Clara walking towards me with Mia in her arms.
"Are you okay?" She asked and I nodded.
"Of course I am. I'm just a little worried but I'll be okay. Are you leaving soon?" I asked and she raised an eyebrow.
"Are you trying to drive me away?"She asked jokingly and I rolled my eyes.
"You know If i had my way, I'd want you to leave Damon and come stay with me but I don't want to be an inconvenience to you both" I said and she frowned.
"You could never be an inconvenience, Delilah. I'll surely come stay with you soon, especially now that the twins are starting kindergarten. Gosh, they grew up so fast" She murmured then glanced back at the twins who were watching cartoons.
"At least you got to watch them grow up. You and Damon did a good job" I complimented and she frowned.
"You and Luca are going to do a great Job raising Mia" She said and I smiled.
"Enough of the sad stuff. Are you and Damon going to drop them off tomorrow?" I asked and she nodded.
"Do you think it's too early? I mean they're barely five yet. Maybe we should..."
"They're not going to be babies forever, Clara. We have to accept that and they're smart, kindergarten is going to be a breeze for them" I told her and she sighed.
"Yeah I know. They're always going to be my babies no matter how old they become" She murmured and I smiled because that's exactly how I felt about Mia.
"Mama?" Heaven Called out as she walked up to us while rubbing her eyes with her fist.
"Yes baby?" Clara replied as she reached out for her hand.
I'm sleepy" Heaven murmured and I sighed.
"I shouldn't waste your time any longer" I said then placed a kiss on Heaven's Head before taking Mia out of Clara's arms.
"Are you sure You're going to be okay on your own?" Clara asked as she pulled Heaven closer.
"Yes but if anything happens, I'll make sure to call you" I assured her and she nodded.
After making sure I was okay, Clara and her kids left and soon, Mia and I were alone.
Everywhere was suddenly quiet except for the few sounds Mia was making.
"I guess it's just me and you now" I murmured then placed a kiss on her cheeks before walking towards the kitchen.
I ate the food Clara prepared for me then fed Mia before we went upstairs to freshen up.
Soon, Mia and I were cuddled up in bed in our pajamas and as much as I loved this moment, I knew I would Love it more if Luca were here.
As soon as Mia fell asleep, I carefully Climbed down from the bed and grabbed my phone on the nightstand.
I couldn't take it anymore. I couldn't fall asleep without making sure he was okay.
I was surprised when I dialed his number the first time and he didn't pick. I dialed it again and this time, the call went through but before I could utter a word, A female voice came through.
"Hello?" She said and I frowned.
"Who are you and what are you doing with my husband's phone?" I asked and she went silent for a while.
"He's currently asleep, you can call him later" She said and I frowned.
"Are you in his room?" I asked.
"Yes. I just massaged his shoulders and he fell asleep" She uttered and I froze.
"What?" I uttered harshly and she sighed.
"You're being loud. He has had a rough day so you can call him tomorrow" She said then ended the call before I could get another word out.
I stood there in shock for a while then let out a laugh. What had just happened?
I tried calling the phone back but no one answered. Whet the fuck was going on?
That night, I tried sleeping but I just couldn't get what that girl said out of my head. She massaged his shoulders? She was in his room?
I knew Luca would never cheat on me but still...
"Fuck i need fresh air" I murmured then placed a kiss on Mia's head before walking out of the room and into the patio, making sure to carry the baby monitor with That.
I let out a sigh as I sat down on the bench and stared into the night sky.
Was he alright? She said he had had a rough day. Knowing Luca, he never slept so early unless he was really tired. Were they overexerting him?
Whatever it was, he was going to get an earful tomorrow. I didn't know who that girl was but I didn't like her being anywhere near my man.
"You alright?" My soul nearly jumped off of my body at the sound of Damon's voice.
"Fuck, What are you doing here? How did you even get into my house?" I whispered harshly So as not to wake Mia up.
"You left your front door open. You should learn to be security conscious, Delilah" He said as he took a seat next to me on the Bench.
"This is your pack, no outsider would dare break in and I trust everyone here" I told him and he chuckled.
"You have me to thank for that, huh?" He murmured and I smiled but said nothing.
"Luca said I should always check up on you before I head home. Do you want to tell me why you're seated out here?" He asked and I sighed.
"I just needed to clear my head. I don't think this is going to get easier, Damon" I murmured and bit my lower lip to stop myself from crying.
"I don't think it will but it gets tolerable. Remember that your family is here for you. We love you, Clara loves you, Luca loves you, Dimitri loves you and I love you. I never want you to doubt that and if you're having any problems, you can always run to any of us, to me" He murmured and I grinned as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Who would have thought I'd ever hear such words come out of your mouth?" I said as I wiped away my tears.
"Not a word to anyone or I'll burn your house down"...
