"I'm so sorry, Delilah. I wanted to call you but I fell asleep" That was Luca the next morning.
I had woken up to several missed calls and messages from him. I had purposely ignored them because I wanted him to understand what I went through last night.
"Okay" I uttered simply and he sighed.
"Delilah..."
"I'm not mad at you. I know from the girl you were with last night that you fell asleep and didn't need to be disturbed" I told him and he went silent for a while.
"A girl? What girl?" He asked and I sighed.
"Look, I'm not in the mood for this today. I have to feed Mia and..."
"What girl, Delilah? I wasn't with anyone" He said quickly and I went silent.
"Think deeper" I told him and he went silent again before he gasped.
"Annalise" He muttered softly and I frowned. So I hadn't imagined it.
"I swear I didn't know she was still there when I was asleep. It doesn't mean anything, Delilah" He explained and I raised an eyebrow.
"Really? Because from what she told me, she had massaged your shoulders while you slept" I told him and he went silent again before letting out a sigh.
"Yes she did massage my shoulders but I swear, it didn't mean anything. I was very tired last night and she volunteered to help me relieve some stress but it didn't mean anything. I told her not to do anything at first and go but..."
"Don't worry, Luca. I trust you" I told and I heard him heave a sigh of relief.
"Are you sure? Delilah..."
"I trust you but I don't trust her. She has feelings for you" I said to him and he chuckled.
"You just spoke to her once, Delilah" He pointed out and I frowned.
"Are you doubting my woman instincts? Just from that conversation alone, I could tell that she has feelings for you. I don't want her around you anymore" I told him and he chuckled.
"Okay, I won't let her come near me again. I warned her several times to leave me alone but she's pretty persistent" He mumbled and I frowned.
"Do you want me to come over there and teach Her a lesson?" I offered and he laughed and that sound instantly brought a smile to my face.
Goddess, I missed him.
"I'll take you up on that offer soon. I miss you, Delilah, so fucking much" He murmured and I sighed.
"I miss you too. Any progress yesterday?" I asked and he sighed.
"Yesterday was so draining and painful. Hopefully, today will be better. How's Mia? How's everyone?" He asked and I glanced towards Mia who was still fast asleep on the bed.
"She has been a good girl since you left. She's still asleep right now" I told him and he whistled.
"That's a shocker!" He said and I giggled.
"Tell me about it. Are you sure you're okay?" I asked again with a frown.
"Of course, my love. I'll be fine" Just then, I heard a loud knock from his end.m and then he sighed.
"I've got to go. It's time for meditation Or some shit" He told him and I raised an eyebrow.
"You? Meditation?" I asked and he chuckled.
"I was forced into it but I'm not mad. It does help calm me down a little. These witches have a very strict no phone rule during the day so I'll have to call you at night, is that okay?" He asked and I sighed.
"I mean,it's not okay but I guess since it's their rule then we can't do anything about it" I murmured.
"I'll find a way around it, okay? I'll call you later, don't forget to eat okay?" He reminded me.
"I won't" After that, i ended the call then let out a sigh as I was suddenly transported back to reality.
At that moment, Mia woke up and immediately began crying so I had to attend to her.
After bathing her and dressing her up, I did the little cleaning I could do around the house then had my bath as well and dressed up.
Just as I was about to make myself breakfast, I heard a knock on the door.
I furrowed my eyebrows because I knew it couldn't be anyone I knew because Clara, Damon and even Dimitri didn't knock before they walked into my house.
I checked up on Mia before walking towards the door.
As soon as I opened it, I was surprised to see Russo behind the door with a smile on his face.
"Good morning, Mrs Slate" I furrowed My eyebrows as I stared at him.
"Good Morning Russo. Please call me Delilah" I told him and he flashed me a dimpled smile.
"That's a beautiful name" He uttered and I smiled back even though I didn't understand what was happening.
"What are you doing here, Russo?" I asked.
"Rebecca is busy running away from Dimitri and you said we were welcome anytime, right? I was thinking if you have something for me to do for you. Like a job or something, I don't really like sitting around idly and Dimitri said we cannot join training yet till we swear our loyalty to the Alpha and Alpha King. We already swore our loyalty to the Alpha King but as for the Alpha..." He trailed off and I frowned.
"He won't be around for a while so training is out of it. Is there something else I can do for you?" He asked and I thought for a while.
"Can you cook?" I asked and his eyes widened slightly.
"Yes?" He replied and I grinned.
"I hate cooking. Usually, my husband cooks for me but he's not around. Can you cook breakfast for me? I'll pay you really well, that's if it turns out good" I told him and he chuckled.
"I'll have you know that I cook for myself and Rebecca all the time and I know I'm a great cook" He told me and I smiled then gave way for him to enter my house.
"So prove it" I told him and he smirked.
"Okay but if you end up Liking my food, I don't want food. Can I request something else?"...
