When Allen awoke, the sun hadn't even risen from the horizon yet. The sky was still dim. Allen sorted through the merchandise in the store. He got a new phone with a charger, a portable charger, batteries, flashlights, candles, lighters, water, and food.
Unfortunately, the cell service was down and Allen couldn't use the data on the phone. It was more of a timer for him and light source if needed. His bag was filled to the brim with items. It was also considerably heavy, it would slow him down making his three days turn to five.
The next five days, Allen traveled from place to place. He would gather the supplies that he needed and also made sure to exercise his body, he would die if he accidentally got caught up in a horde. By the fifth day, Allen's stamina could be considered to be normal. Before he was very weak, just running two blocks made his lungs burn. Five blocks and his legs ached and almost turned to jelly. Now he could run ten blocks before his lungs and legs ached.
He also gathered clothes and changed out of his goddamn female uniform. But it seemed that every store that he went to.... there was only female clothing. There Bao Bao was grinning inwardly, he had succeed in dispelling his host's impression that he was doing this on purpose. Just like a mother who loves to dress up their children, Bao Bao had made a plan in his mind to keep his host to cross dressing.
Allen wore a large wool beige sweater dress with black shorts underneath so that no one could see his undergarment, he also had on black tights , a navy blue jacket, and brown knee high boots. Bao Bao was clapping in his heart, his host was too cute. As for Allen, he just frowned at his clothes but he trusted Bao Bao. His system wouldn't lie to him.
Bao Bao: What? I thought I heard my name....
He had reached the outskirts of B city, to base B would only be a six day trip. As much as he wanted to drive as it would get him there faster, he didn't know how to. Allen didn't stay on the main road and took a direct path there through the woods. He had seen how this world was, at this moment you could only care for yourselves. Allen saw people who sacrificed others to survive, he also saw others killing others for things. He didn't want to get into contact with anyone else unless he had to.
But sometimes, he couldn't escape other people's vulturous eyes and they would try and pick him up. They would whistle at him and when he didn't respond, they would chase after him. This one time, a small group of hoodlum followed Allen, even after he chose to ignore him. They surrounded him in a small dark alleyway, their eyes were filled with lasciviousness that made Allen's stomach churn.
Gang member A, "Hey, sweetie. It's not safe to be out here by yourself, you know?"
"...." Allen didn't want to bother with them and tried to get past the wall of gang members, but they didn't even budge.
Gang member B clicked his tongue, "Tsk tsk tsk, where do you think that you're going, eh?"
Gang member C, "Ah, brother this little lady decided to ignore you. What are you going to do?"
Gang member A licked his lips, "Enjoy her of course."
Allen frowned. He gripped onto his knife that was hidden in his sleeve. He didn't have time for them.
You bastards, picking on Bao Bao's host! Bao Bao knows that his baby looks like an angel. Now go away. Argh! Bao Bao wants to put them in a meat grinder! How dare you try and 'pick' up my host! Hmph.
Since there was no penalty to worry about, Allen waited until they got closer to him. Allen kicked gang member A's shin, making him bend over in pain. He then knees him in the nose. He takes the chance while the other members are surprised and slit gang member A's neck as his neck was exposed. Blood sprayed into the air.
The other gang member's became flustered, they didn't think that their prey would end knowing how to fight back but it was 1 vs 2. How could they lose? They all charge in. Gang member B gripped onto Allen's shoulder, trying to immobilize his movements. While gang member C went to the front of Allen preparing to punch his stomach.
Allen lifts his feet and stomps gang member B's feet, making him release his hold on Allen. Thankfully, Bao Bao had him wear shoes with a small heel in them. It would give them more pain. He then gives him two quick stabs in his spleen and femoral vessel*. Gang member B falls onto the floor and bled out. Gang member C was still recovering from being kick in his stomach. Allen roundhouse kicked him, landing square on the side of his cheeks. He flew a few feet and slammed against the wall. Allen didn't give him a chance to recover, he flipped him over and stabbed him in his heart.
Bao Bao had been cheering on the side line. Uh, yeah! Jab him there! Stab him, kick! Ou, yeah! Bao Bao's baby is the best!
Allen wiped the blood off of his blade.

As Allen traveled, he had made several observations of the zombies. First off, they could infect you with their bodily fluids. The most common was their saliva but if you got their blood on an open wound or in any open body parts such as your eyes, you would get infected.
Most people get infected from a scratch because the zombie has contaminated blood in their nails, if it was clean the scratches wouldn't infect others.
You would transform into a zombie within the hour after getting their bodily fluids in your system. A person would exhibit breathing difficulty and a fever. After they would fall into 'coma'. Their bodies would also show changes, their eyes start to become blood shot and their corneas seem to produce a cloudy substance, and their saliva would start to have a yellow hue to it.
Animals could also get infected if they ingested a zombie's fluids. They would attack anything that was alive. Allen had come across a dog that had gone rabid and killed it. He also saw some birds that had also transformed, it meant just how much more difficult it would be to survive in this world. Allen could already foresee the shortage of food that was going to come.
Secondly, they only retained three out of the five sense, sight, hearing, and smell. They are attracted to the scent of humans and their blood. Their eye sight is very poor in the dark and they rely on the other two senses to find their prey. As for the hearing, Allen conducted experiments and found out that it was slightly better than that of a human's.
Third, their strength power was much stronger. One slap from their meaty and mangled hands would cause a bruise on your body. Two slaps in one area could fracture your bones. Fourth, there seems to be different stages of zombies. Allen ranks them from level 0 to level 2 from his own experience. Level 0 are the most common zombies, they are also the weakest. Their limbs had are stiff due to rigor mortis and their speed is relatively slower than an average human's. Level 1 zombies are uncommon but they aren't rare. Their speed is on par with that of a healthy human, their strength power is also much higher. One slap would fracture your bones.
Level 2 zombies are rare and are very difficult to deal with. If not for Allen's accurate shots and quick reactions, he would've died. They figures are tall almost hitting two meters and they have long arms that reach down to their knees. Their speed is above that of an average human and they would be able to hunt down their prey with no issues.
Their strength isn't something to relax about, just one slap will break your bones. Imagine getting slap in your abdomen or back, you can kiss your bones good bye. Their hearing can also be compared to that of a dog. Allen encountered two of them and barely survived.
Fifth, they don't need to eat to survive. They could live forever without eating once. Sixth, none of their internal organs, such as their heart, stomach, liver, or intestines are functioning. They don't need to eat or breath. They don't blink either, which sometime leads to their eyes drying up. Allen had dissected a zombie out of curiosity and found out those facts, what he wanted to know was more on how the brain is able to keep 'living'.
Last thing that Allen deduced was that this was a man made disaster. Allen had researched a long the way and read many articles. There was nothing irregular with the world except the strange meteorites but there was no meteor showers the past ten years. Allen concluded that it was 'planted' by someone or some group.
Thanks to his first world, Allen was very knowledgeable in the medical field.
Base on a habit from his previous world, when he needed to rest he would climb a tree and sleep up there for the night. As he walk, he would fiddle with the ring around his finger or the pendant around his neck. Allen would converse with Bao Bao when he walk. When he needed some time alone he would open the pendant and look at the portraits inside.
By the sixth day, Allen arrived at base B. He saw that there was a queue on the outside of the base and went and stood in line. He had arrived three days before the time limit ended. He had rigorously used the bow until it broke, so he had to leave it behind. He also left behind the arrows as they were taking up space. The motorcycle helmet broke when he dodged a level 2 zombie's attack.
People gave Allen weird looks as he walked to line up. He was wearing an oversize black sweater with a hoodie that had cat ears and a cat tail, and thigh high black boots with sliver outlines. Sure, his clothes looked a little worn out.... but there was nothing wrong about it, right?
As he waited in line, he would occasionally hear about the status of the rest of the country. The only bases that had been successful in setting up in time and defending against the zombies were A, B, D, E, H, I, S, T, X, and Z. The others were either overrun or there was no communication from them.
Allen's injury was healing nicely and he didn't have to worry about receiving a fever from it. Just as the line moved up and he was about to be called next, screams erupted from behind him.
