The next morning, Allen woke up bright and early. He took out some dried beef jerky and two bottles of water that he had taken from his pillages. Allen gave Irvin a larger portion of the beef jerky and a bottle of water. Irvin, "What are your plans now?"
Allen chewed on the hard dried meat with a nonchalant face, "Find my brother."
Irvin, "Do you even know how far base A is?"
Allen frowned, "No... but I need to find him. I need to tell him that I'm okay."
Irvin raised his eyebrows in curiosity. That bro-con idiot had always talked about how cute and adorable his younger brother was. Many, including Irvin thought that Allen would be like a spoiled rich kid but on the contrary Allen was quite 'normal'.
With the small amount of time that Irvin had spent with Allen, Irvin found out that the young boy was wise beyond his age. If you ignored that he could kill a conversation with his one or two words reply and that he was usually quiet, Allen was quite pleasing to be with.
He didn't whine, he would try and carry his own weight. His instincts in detecting hostility wasn't far below Irvin's and he wasn't like the others who would scream their heads off, although he was scared he didn't become an extra baggae. Maybe it was because he almost came face to face with death that his instincts were on point and that he had come out of the city alone, that he knew the a lot about the zombies.
Irvin proposed, "Why don't you come with me? I need to find my younger brother, he should be coming back to base B by this afternoon. After we can all head over to base A."
Allen thought for a moment before agreeing, "Okay."
What was there for him to lose? Irvin's comrades would be similar to him, yes? The pros out weighed the possible cons in Allen's mind. The two set out around ten o'clock. Now that Irvin had a gun in his hand, he could clear out any incoming trouble and if they got close, he still had the hunting knife that Allen had given him.
But in truth, the only reason why Allen joined was because Bao Bao had told him that another hidden mission had been unlocked. He needed as many points as he could get and naturally accepted what came his way.
{Hidden Mission: Reunite Irvin Strioh with Noel Strioh. - 1,550 points }
It took them half an hour to get back to base B. Just like how Irvin had guessed, the base was utterly destroyed by the morning. There wasn't a living soul left inside. Irvin took Allen to the rendezvous point that was. There he would meet up with Noel and the others. They camped at the spot until the arrival of the others.
---
Noel had a foreboding feeling and decided to come back as soon as possible. When Noel and his team came back, they felt dread well up inside of them. There was smoke coming from the base and the grounds were covered in blood. They wanted to rush in but they also had to consider that there maybe enemies there as well.
They proceeded with caution and made sure to check every nook and cranny for any survivors. They would slaughter all zombies that came close to them.
As the got farther into the base, they saw more and more of the devastation that paid a visit to their base. Some of the younger members in their group wanted to cry. Their families had resided inside of the base and naturally, they saw some of their family member's bodies or as a zombie.
It was tragic as they had to put down their own family members. They couldn't linger here, they sobered up their feelings and proceeded with their teammates.
They had almost reached the rendezvous point and hoped that perhaps there was a few survivors that made it. Noel was especially tense, he had seen the mutilated bodies of the men under his brother. He only anticipate for what he was going to discover.
The rendezvous point was empty. Their hearts felt empty, their family, friends, and comrades in arm. There was no one that was left. Just as they were going to turn away, a familiar voice came from the left side.
A tall short blonde hair man jumped down from one of the rooftops. He audaciously winked his deep blue eye, "Cheryl, Evonne miss me yet?"
Evonne walked over and threw a punch onto Irvin's shoulder, "Asshole."
But their surprise didn't end there. Irvin turned around and open his arms as if to catch something. Irvin, "Jump."
Suddenly a small figure fell from the sky and onto Irvin's arm. They had short black hair, creamy and milky looking skin, two large black pearls, and pouty lips. They was wearing a red plaid long shirt that went down to their thighs, short baby blue denim shorts, and black leather boots. His unblemished and long legs were exposed. They squinted their eyes, making them look even more adorable then they already were.
The person in Irvin's arms spoke, "Irvin, my glasses."
Their voice was soft but not quiet, it was mellifluous and dulcet sounding. But because it sounded too androgynous, it was hard to tell their gender. They all look at Irvin with a curious look. Irvin laughed, "Here."
He place a circular gold rimmed glasses with a crack on one side, on the youth's face. The person could finally see the others, before they were just a blob of black with peach and wheat color added to it. The person tilted their head to the side a little and blinked at the others who were surrounding them.
They could could feel someone's heated gaze on them. From the corner of their eye, they saw a tall handsome man with hair the color of the sun. It reached down to his shoulder. He had a chiseled face with a refined jawline, an elegant arched and pointed nose, sharp and fierce eagle like sapphire eyes, straight full brows, and supple thin lips.
His uniform was slightly open, his sexy clavicle and the top part of his strong, muscled, and toned chest could be seen. The rest of his uniform accentuated his god-like form perfectly. The person in Irvin's arm only glanced at him before turning away.
The woman named, Cheryl Haden was the first to speak, "Irvin! Did you kidnap this poor child?!"
Irvin's mouth twitched. Does it seem like I'm that type to you guys?
The woman who was called, Evonne Hazenberg walked up and took the youth from Irvin's arms, "Hand them over to me."
She softly stroke the person's hair and tucked the stray hair behind their ear, "Are you okay? Did he do something to you? Tell auntie and auntie will get revenge for you."
The person's brows furrow, puzzled at how this situation came to be. They had just gotten to the base earlier and to get a better view, Irvin took him to one of the taller buildings. Now he's in a woman's arms?
Evonne squealed, "Ah, you're so cute!"
She pinched the person's cheek with one hand. The youth blushed and looked at Irvin as if telling him to help him. Irvin just raised his hands as if he couldn't do anything about it. The person's brows scrunched up.
Irvin cautioned, "Evonne, be a little more gentle. Their shoulder is injured."
Evonne gasped, "Oh, sorry love. Auntie didn't mean to. Are you okay?"
The youth clutched their shirt as he looked alarmed. They kept eyeing Irvin. Cheryl pointed her finger at Irvin, "Hey! Where did you get this kitten from?"
Irvin mouth gaped open. Does he really seem like the type? I mean maybe he's flirted with too many people but that doesn't mean that he'll break the law and kidnap someone! Ah, he's being wrongly accused here!
Irvin shook his head, "I didn't kidnap them. They came with me willingly."
Cheryl eyed him with suspicion but dropped it. Irvin really wasn't the type to snatch and run, he was more of the type to be outright damn flirtatious. Cheryl, "Then, where did you get them?"
Irvin chuckled thinking back to what happened, "They had just arrived in the base not too long ago before we got sieged by the zombies. The more advance zombie, or more like how 'they' labeled it. There was more than one level 2 zombie showed up."
Everyone inhaled, they knew how dangerous it was for one to fight with that monster. After all there had only been a handful of people that had actually killed one.
Irvin continued to explain, "After it killed everyone inside of the room, two level 1 zombies came in."
Ricardo Kranzer, a member of Noel's team scratched his head, "Hold on. Irvin what do you mean by level 1 or level 2 zombies?"
Irvin pointed to the young man with black hair in Evonne's arms, "He's the one who came up with the terms."
Evonne and Cheryl, "He? This is a boy?"
Irvin bobbed his head, "Yeah, how do you not know?"
Cheryl, "No.... What do you mean?"
Irvin looked at them with a puzzled expression, "You really don't know?"
Cheryl fumed, "Irvin, stop playing! I told you already!"
Just as Irvin was about to speak, Nikolaus Eichler, another member on the team asked, "Who is that person by the way?"
Irvin smiled deviously, "I was just going to say it, thanks for cutting in Nik."
Nikolaus harrumphed, "You weren't fast enough."
Irvin gave them all a jaw dropping news, "He's Allen Reeves, the infamous baby brother of Kyle Reeves."
Allen chewed on the hard dried meat with a nonchalant face, "Find my brother."
Irvin, "Do you even know how far base A is?"
Allen frowned, "No... but I need to find him. I need to tell him that I'm okay."
