Today was the first night I didn't go to bed early, it was the first time I decided to spend time on the balcony outside of my room. Liam have the same balcony and he spends time there a lot but I don't know for the past two years I've not stepped my feet there but today I suddenly feel the need to do so, maybe because I have a lot going on in my head so I walked to the balcony door and gently opened it, the fresh breeze hit my skin and the view of the city hit my sight, this is what I've been missing, damn, California is so beautiful.
I leaned onto the glassy rails and exhaled deeply, it's been a long, chaotic, and emotional day for me, for the past two years I've managed to keep a low profile in school but now it's all gone, everyone is now going to see me as weird type of shit, and it's not like I give a fuck about what people thinks cause at the end of the day I didn't do anything wrong and it's not a sin that I once liked Liam, it's just that he promised me that he wasn't going to be messy with my diary he even had me do things but he ended up being the messy one.
I looked at my phone for the hundredth time, I don't know why I'm so nervous to call Kelly, I already unblocked him but the shame of what I did as a bad friend would not allow me speak to him, my phone suddenly began to ring
“Shit!” I curse, as the phone almost fell from my hand, damn what was I thinking, I kept looking at my phone as it continue to ring and as soon as it stopped ringing a message popped in
“Hi pookie, looks like you're asleep already, I wanted to check up on you, hope you're feeling better, I'll pick you up for school tomorrow okay, sweet dreams”
I sighed heavily, why do I feel like I do not deserve to be his friend, for all I know he's the best friend anyone would wish for, and I do not want to be that friend that do not apologize in a friendship, the respect and love should be mutual and well reciprocated, so I did what I was supposed to do, I suck in my shame, and decided to prioritize my friendship, I dialed his number, and it looks like he was waiting for the call cause he picked up immediately
“Hi princess” His voice was loving, calm and friendly
“Kelly”
“You sound like you're distressed, hope you're okay?”
“Hmm, I'm good I promise”
“Your Aunt and Uncle?”
“You don't have to worry about them cause they didn't scold me, they are good to me”
“Damn that was relieving to hear” He sighed heavily like he's been thinking,
“Kelly?” I called nervously while I bite on my bottom lip
“Uhm, I'm sorry, you know I didn't mean to block you right”
“You worry too much pookie, I knew something was wrong, you was probably compelled to, now you don't have to worry, I just want you to sleep tonight and not worry about anything, I'm going to make you a delicious breakfast tomorrow”
Hearing his words of assurance and how he did not even fault my actions, yet he consoled me and was even going to make me a breakfast, I suddenly knew I bagged a big one when I made him my friend
“Thank you Kel”
“Now go and sleep Pookie, we have lots of classes tomorrow okay?”
“Hmmm” I nodded happily and ended the call, I didn't know I was smiling so hard till it hit me, damn, now I feel so much better, I definitely got myself a big one. I ended up going to sleep happily and the next day I woke up feeling so much better, and that was because someone has decided to forget her stepbrother for good and be open to dating and yes, I want to start posting on my social media like my Twitter and my IG, and I thought a lot about it, yeah so I'm going to stop wearing my glasses especially since my eye problem already corrected, I will wear my glasses lesser these days,
I finished getting ready for school today and I was dead ass looking different and that's because I want to go take pictures early this morning before going to school since my first class for the day starts by 11pm. I happily went downstairs
“Good morning aunty!” I greeted her excitedly that I didn't even notice Liam was there with her at the dining,
“Good morning dear, where are you going, are you not having breakfast?” She asked and that's when I halted to take a proper look, and saw Liam and for some reason he was staring right back at me, it's unlike his friends not to be here already.
“I'm sorry auntie but I have to hurry cause I have something I want to do before going to school”
“Oh okay, that's fine then Liam will give you a ride” She said and Liam stood up immediately
“Ohh that won't be necessary cause my friend is already here to give me a ride”
“Your friend?”
“Hmm, my best friend Kelly, I'll bring him home sometime so you can see”
“Ohh it's a hee…?” She asked glancing at Liam, though I do not understand what she meant, I still nodded regardless
“Alright dear, have fun” She smiled and waved at me,
“You too aunty” I smiled at her and hurried out of the house, I got outside and saw Kelly with a new car, it was no longer the BMW,
“Here comes my pretty princess” He smiled at me as I approached him,
“Good morning” I pouted, as he opened the car door for me and I got in, he slammed the door shut and got in as well,
“You're looking different today, are we celebrating something?” He gave me the crazy look
“Stop……” I pushed him lightly as I put on my seatbelt
“I just want to take pictures to post on my IG”
“Wait, you want to start posting on insta?” He asked looking shocked
“Hmm” I nodded
“Damn, my best friend is finally living” He wiggled excitedly
“You're being dramatic”
“Come on you know I'm not, I've literally pleaded with you to do it before but you didn't, I'm glad you're doing this” He said the last part with a happy smile
“Thank you, so do you know any good spots we can use for the pictures?”
“Of course and trust me when I say that I'm one of the best photographers ever”
“You brag too much” I playfully glared at him,
“I'm the best” He winked
I smiled and turned on the music, knowing that my life is about to take a new turn from now on.
