                    Ashley's POV
After Cheska took me out from her husband's office, she led me towards the yard of their large house.
I turned my gaze to the house and can't help but think about what's happening inside with Connor and Arthur.
Is there something wrong? Except for the fact that they hate each other, is there a reason why Arthur is here?
I bet they're arguing inside. Or maybe, they're fighting about something. I can't stop myself from thinking that it was me that caused all this unnecessary conflicts.
But I also can't help but be worried of what might be the outcome of their conversation.
Will things stay the same and will everyone go on with their own lives the way it was? Or are things going to change.
If there really are changes ahead, then hopefully it's for the best. Perhaps it will also benefit all of us.
"Hun, are you okay?" Cheska asked snapping me out of my worried thoughts.
I turned my head to her and gave her a reassuring smile, telling her that I'm perfectly fine. "Yup. I'm fine."
Okay, that was Part lie, part truth. But could you blame me? My boyfriend who is also my soon to be husband is in a room with three other guys (not saying that I was kind of jealous or what-so-ever). But come on, I'm a human being too, I have a very active and curious mind. Sometimes I can't stand being left out about some things. And now that all four of them are in the same room having a deep conversation about matters I have no idea about, it makes me want to know and be a part of their discussion.
But of course, obviously they won't let me. As per usual, they think that I can't take in too much information for such a short period.
I mean what the heck, I'm not a kid not to understand any of it. I'm a grown up now and it's not like I can't understand english, duh.
But hopefully though, after they are done with what ever discussion they were having in there, Connor would tell me a snippet of it so I won't at least be left in the dark.
And also, what the heck is Arthur doing in here? And why the heck did he just came in here telling me he had to take me home? Like what? I just got here two days ago and Connor still haven't given me a tour around town yet.
At this moment, everything is just a whirlwind of situations making me so freaking dizzy.
First, right after we got here, I thought I will have so much fun with exploring and going around places. But then a few days later, this happened?
Am I really a trouble magnet or fate just had the good time on making fun of me?
Neither of the two is acceptable for me.
But anyway, the past few days that I've been here wasn't bad at all. We arrived at noon-ish that time then we took some nap to recharge our energies and get ourselves ready to meet some new people later on. Then the second day, we went to Connor's parents' place so I could finally meet them. And let me tell you, I was a nervous wreck right when we stepped through the door. But then after I was finally able to meet them, I figured that it wasn't that bad. His parents are very nice and welcoming while his siblings were very energetic and full of fun. And after the little chat that I had with them, we all gathered for dinner. And let me tell you this again, it was an amazing dinner with such amazing food. Right then and there I learned to like his mom more and more because of her talent in cooking. Plus, she's really kind too.
And lastly, today. We started with a morning jog around the small town then we went to a little diner to get our breakfast. After that we went back and just stayed inside the house -I mean mansion actually. Like seriously though, this house could fit all of my relatives in here- and just lazied our butts around.
Then at mid-noon, this happened.
I feel like things turned out for the worse. With this gut wrenching feeling that I have right now, I doubt what ever they were talking about was of any good.
I know something is up, and something is seriously wrong. But all I could do at this moment is wait and hope everything is okay.
"Ash? Are you listening to me? Ash?" Cheska once again called me out of my own world of thoughts.
"Yeah?" I responded back innocently.
"You were staring to nothingness for almost ten straight minutes. Are you really okay?" She asked worriedly.
I looked down to the unpaved ground with a sigh.
"I don't know, really." I admitted deciding to tell her the truth. "I feel like something is wrong."
"You want to talk about it?" Cheska offered as she stood closer to me.
I thought about it for a second.
I mean, Cheska seems like a nice person to talk to. But the thing is, I've only met her two days ago. Could I really entrust my worries towards her or shall I just keep this to myself and pour it out when Connor gets here?
"But it's totally fine if you don't want to. I know you've only met me like two days ago, so it's normal you're still a bit weary. But one thing I can assure you, I'm a good listener but never a gossiper, if that's even a word." She said and I chuckled but mentally winced.
Damn, is she some kind of a mind reading person?
How did she know what I was thinking?
Well let's just hope it was a perfect coincidence.
Pursing my lips, I decided to open up to her a little. I mean, there's no harm in opening up, right?
"Uhm, I don't know but I feel like it's me that caused what ever conflict is happening right now." I admitted while playing with my fingers.
She furrowed her brows at my words. "What makes you say that, hun?"
I looked at her.
"Well, for one, Arthur and Connor hates each other with a burning, fiery and deadly passion. And before you react, that was a lot of adjectives, I know. So yeah." I said feeling stupid with myself for letting my rambling go off.
She chuckled and led me towards a bench so we both can have a seat.
"Relax. Just be positive that everything is going to be alright." She soothed.
"But what if things didn't go alright? What if things go worse?" I stated worriedly.
"Calm down." She said as she started rubbing my back. "But you want to know what I think?" She asked and I nodded my head interested to know what she was about to say.
"I think Connor and Arthur are just not comfortable with each other being friends, which is very obvious with how they react around each other. But I'm sure if both worked together to try and lessen the tension, I'm confident enough to say that they can get along pretty okay." She paused. "But that's only my view."
"Okay. But there is also one thing that keeps bugging me though."
Cheska tilted her head slightly. "What is it?"
I once again hesitated before deciding to tell her anything.
"I uhm..." I paused as I looked at her unsure, before heaving a sigh. "Promise me you won't tell anyone?"
Cheska frowned a little at that. "Not even Connor?"
I bit my lower lip before slowly nodding my head.
"Yes, Not even Connor."
Cheska didn't utter anything for a couple of seconds.
"Alright, I promise." She finally said.
I smiled at her and once again sighing.
"Well it's not really something big, it's just that, it kinda bothers me." I started.
"Yeah?" She asked encouraging me to go on and continue.
I uhm, I-I keep having t-this odd feeling." I paused.
Why the heck am I stuttering all of a sudden?
"What kind of odd feeling exactly?" She pushed.
"Like uhm, like, I feel some kind of pull or a-attraction towards someone." I said.
She nodded, encouraging me to continue.
"Okay? And that someone would be?" Cheska asked prolonging the word 'be'.
I sighed, slightly hesitating whether I tell her or not.
"This might sound wierd but uhm, I feel it towards Arthur."
She raised her brows. "Oh."
"I don't know why I experience it, it just happens, and I know it's towards him. I can't explain why it's happening to me, that's why I'm so confused." I said. "And to make matters worse, it gets really strong when he's around. Specially earlier." I admitted honestly.
"Interesting." Cheska said.
I turned my gaze at her.
"At the same time weird." She added quickly.
She placed her pointer finger on her chin like she does know something.
"I know it's not much of a big deal but it just bugs me so much." I stated.
"It's a big deal actually." She said and I looked at her with a little confusion on my face.
After she caught my gaze she quickly added. "I guess."
I frowned a little. "How so? I mean yes it's odd, but it's normal to be attracted to someone, right?"
She nodded. "Well yes it's normal but....." She said hesitating to continue her sentence.
"But what?" I asked, eager to hear what she was going to say.
She turned her attention back to me. "Well uhm, it's not my place to explain all that, really." She said looking apologetic.
I instantly furrowed my brows at her. "Why not? Like, is there other explanation about these odd feelings I'm having?
She visibly grimaced.
"Uh, sort of." Is her reply.
"Sort of?"
She shook her head.
"I can't really explain it to you but only your mate." She said, but quickly pursed her lips before she slapped her hand on her mouth with her eyes as wide as Jupiter.
"My mate? You mean Connor?" I asked confused.
Why do people call someone their mates lately? Is Australian language rubbing off on them? Well if that's the case then I really am outdated with my social life.
"Uh. So uhm, h-how are you liking your stay here so far?" She asked in obvious change of subject.
"No wait. You didn't answer my question yet."
"Uh....." She trailed off as she scratched the back of her hand looking nervous.
"I, It's uh, not really my place to explain everything to you hun, sorry." Cheska said apologetically and I sighed.
"How many meaning does a word mate have? It can be friends, it can be partner in marriage, or it can be for, ya know, sexual kind of thing." I paused trying my best to not let my pink cheeks look that obvious. "Also it can be used as a noun or a verb. So I don't really know what you're referring to." I added as I mentally slapped myself again for letting my nerdy self slip.
Gosh, I am just so wierd.
"Oh uh, I'm not that sure either." She said shyly.
"Great." I said as I slouched on the bench we were seated.
Cheska sighed apologetically. "I'm really sorry hun. As much as I want to explain everything you want to know right now, I can't. Knowing it's not my place to do such thing. Only Connor or Arthur can explain those to you." She said sadly while I only gave her a nod.
But then I realized she mentioned Arthur.
"Wait. What does Arthur had to do with this?" I questioned confused. "He's the one I'm having this odd feelings, and now he's the one who's going to explain it to me?
"Oh, uh he's, well I can't really tell you because....." She said and I groaned.
"Because it's not your place to tell me. That only my mate can tell me everything." I finished the sentence for her.
She nodded. "I'm really sorry if I can't be any help to you."
I sighed for who knows how many times already.
"It's fine. It's not your fault."
And before Cheska could speak up again, a young fine specimen came to us.
"My apologies to bother you Luna Cheska, but Alpha Kellan told me he needed to come speak with you in his office." He then turned to me. "As for Sir Ash, I was told to take him to his room." The young man said politely.
I furrowed my brows at his sentence. Is this guy on to something? Like seriously, the way he speak was like he's living in the middle ages. I almost didn't understand what he just said.
Cheska winced. "Oh, w-we'll be right there in a moment. Thank you Wesley." She stuttered her response back at the young man which I guess was named Wesley.
I turned to Cheska with questioning look on my face.
"Don't mean to be rude but, was he some kind of a servant here or something?" I asked after the said guy was finally out of earshot.
Cheska chuckled a little.
"No, he's not."
I nodded at that. "Oh okay." I paused before another thought pooped into mind. "Wait, why did he call you Luna? And your husband an Alpha? What the heck is going on here?" I asked as I looked back and forth between where Wesley walked in and towards Cheska, now feeling really confused to what was happening.
She sighed again and pinched the bridge of her nose with her thumb and pointer finger.
"They really have to tell you as soon as possible because I'm sure you'll go insane any second if they didn't ." She said.
"Well I'm actually going insane right now, so they better tell me this instant."
She sighed and stood up from the bench we were seated.
"Well then let's go back inside the house so we can all get this settled, shall we?" She offered and I agreed.
"Good idea, cause I will have a serious interrogation with my boyfriend."
With that, the two of us headed back inside the large house.
When Cheska made a turn towards his husband's office, I followed. But someone stopped me on my tracks.
And upon feeling someone's hand taking a hold of my arm out of nowhere, I almost lost my poor soul from my skinny body.
"Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you, Ash." Wesley apologized.
Placing a hand on my fast beating heart, I turned to him flabbergasted. "You don't just approach people like that." I told him. "You might just cause someone to have cardiac arrest."
I heard Cheska giggle.
"He does have a point, Wes." She said, agreeing to me.
"My apologies. I really didn't mean to." He said once again.
I sighed, in hopes of slowing my heart beat and normalizing my breathing.
"It's okay. But don't do it next time, just a piece of advice."
He nodded before continuing on what he was going to say when he stopped me on my tracks.
"Anyways, what I was going to say is that Alph... I mean Kellan, told me to take you to your room." He said as he looked ahead towards Cheska.
She looked at me and then to Wesley.
"But why?" I asked as I looked back at Wesley with questioning gaze.
"I'm not certain for what reason. I'm just following his orders." He said.
I frowned.
Well, even though Cheska told me he's not a servant, but with him following orders and addressing Kellan and Cheska as some kind of his master, then he's definitely a servant. Just my observation.
"We'll talk later, hun." Cheska said as she continued on her way towards her husbands office.
"Follow me please." Wesley spoke.
I turned my eyes to him and saw him standing on the stairs.
Deciding to just shrug it off, I followed behind Wesley in silence.
When he passed the door leading to Connor and I's room, I stopped.
"Wait, this is the room where me and my boyfriend are staying." I stated, pointing at the door.
Wesley stopped as well, before he turned to me.
"I am aware. But Kellan told me to put you into another room for the time being." He said in which I frowned, now completely lost.
"And why would he do that?"
He shrug with shake of his head.
"Like I said, I don't know the reasons. I am simply following what he told me." Is all he said before he proceeded to the said room I am suppose to be relocated.
I turned to the door with a frown.
What the heck is happening? I thought.
As I followed Wesley, I decided not to utter another word. If I'm going to see Connor later, might as well ask him all the questions I needed to be answered.
Wesley opened a door leading to my new room. I stepped in and looked around.
It looks beautiful but without my boyfriend, it's not going to be the same.
"We will have your things delivered here as you wait, Ash." He said.
I nodded.
"Is there anything else you need?" He asked.
"Uhm, I just need my laptop." I told him.
He nodded. "Where is it at?"
"It's inside the room Connor and I are staying in. It's placed on the couch. The backpack was colored light purple." I said.
He gave a small smile. "I will fetch it for you in a second. Anything else?"
I shook my head. "That would be all, I guess." I said, suddenly feeling awkward that I'm giving him orders.
He nodded. "Very well. Please excuse me."
With that, I gave him a tight smile and he closed the door behind him.
I sighed and looked around the room once again.
There wasn't much in here. Only a queen sized bed at the center. Two bedside tables both with lamps. A comfy looking couch settled near the window, and A book shelf in the far left corner just beside the door leading to what I assume is the closet. To my right is medium sized drawer with a 50' inches flat screen T.V mounted on the wall. As I inspected, I saw a few things placed at the top of the drawer which I'm also guessing is a gaming console with two controllers. Right below it are the games arranged neatly.
Not too far from the T.V is where the couch was placed.
The room isn't that big. But for a teenager, it's more than enough.
It has it's own bathroom so that's a plus.
Sighing once again, I plopped myself on the couch and took the remote from the coffee table.
Upon turning the T.V on, I started surfing all the channels in hopes to find something worth watching.
And as I continued my search, the door of my room suddenly opened, revealing Wesley with a bag in hand.
"I have your bag." He said as he walked towards me and handing the bag.
I took it and placed it beside me.
"Thanks."
"You're welcome." He paused. "Do you need anything else?"
I shook my head. "I'm good, thank you."
"Okay." He said walking towards the door. "Oh, the guys will have your things delivered here in a few minutes."
I smiled. "Thank you."
He gave a slight bow and stepped out the door, closing it gently behind him.
I turned to my bag and fetch my laptop from it.
I turned it on and opened skype.
After seeing my contacts, I clicked one from my Besty and it began ringing.
Her profile says she's online so I'm hoping she'll pick up.
A few rings after, she answered the call.
"Hey Besty, what's up?" She greeted brightly.
I smiled.
"I'm doing pretty good. What about you?" I paused. "Oh, before anything, I just wanna ask, I'm not intruding anything, am I?"
Besty chuckled. "No, you're not."
I nodded. "Okay cool. So what's up? We haven't been talking for a while." I said.
"Yeah that's true. But I'm fine. A little busy with stuff, but other than that, I'm good." She replied with a nod.
"That's good to hear."
"So what's the latest? Fill me in with everything, Besty." She stated enthusiastically.
I shrugged. "Same old, I guess. Other than me being here at Connor's place, there's nothing new really." I told her, obviously leaving the dramas behind.
"Ya sure? Cause you look like you have something you're not telling me." She said suspiciously.
I laughed.
I shook my head. "No Besty, there's nothing."
She didn't say anything as she sat there on the other side of the screen, looking at me like she's trying to read me.
"Alright, if you say so." She finally said. "But do remember, if you have anything you wanna talk about and share to me, I'm always here, okay?"
I nodded with a thankful smile. "I know Besty."
"Okay. Oh, before I forget, you remember the rumors about you and Jeremy back in high school?" She asked and I nodded my reply.
"Well, we just found out who was behind it all this time." She said and my eyebrows perked up instantly.
"Took them long enough." I joked and she chuckled.
"I know right. But anyways, it was Margo, Jeremy's ex-girlfriend, who started it all. She wanted to have her revenge towards Jeremy that's why she sparked that rumor up."
"Oh. But why did it took them so long to find that out? What happened?"
She shrugged. "I don't know either. I just found out from Lea, since you know, she was the former SSG president." She stated.
"Okay. But the damage is already done anyways, so it's not like it's gonna fix everything up." I told her.
"Yeah you're right. What's done is done."
"But yeah, changing the subject. How are the guys in there?" I asked enthusiastically.
She beamed. "They're doing good. Breinard is pursuing a simple course at a Vocational School soon. As for me, I'll be taking Business Management so I can be a part of my family's business."
I tilted my head. "What about Joseph and Lea?"
"Well, I haven't seen Joseph for quite some time now. And Lea and I only had a conversation through the phone when I found out who was behind the rumor. They didn't tell me what was going on with their lives when I asked, so I didn't bother asking again for the sake of their privacy."
I nodded my head, understanding what Besty said.
"Oh. Well I hope they're doing alright. Whatever they were doing."
"Yeah I'm sure they're fine." She said with a smile and I smiled back. "So, how are you and Connor? Everything doing good?" She added.
I nodded. "Yup. Everything's doing great. We arrived here in his place two days ago and we've been exploring places since. Though I felt like this place seems kind of odd, it's still nice."
"That's great." She said. "Oh, you told me you met his parents already? How did it go?" She asked excitedly.
I chuckled. "It went surprisingly well. More than what I expected, actually." I paused. "His parents are both so nice and welcoming. They made me feel like I'm part of their family."
"Aww that's nice. I'm very glad it went well." She awed with a soft smile on her face.
"Me too." I said. "So what about you? How's the love life going?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows at her.
She rolled her eyes. "Don't even ask."
I giggled. "Oh come on. Tell me."
"Same old, same old. Nothing new."
I gave her a knowing look.
"Really?" I said dragging the word to tease her.
She groaned. "Don't you give me that look."
I chuckled. "I'm not." I said innocently.
"Yeah right." She rolled her eyes.
"So? How are the suitors?" I questioned and she groaned again.
"Fine." She said giving in. "You remember Andrei?"
I paused as I thought of the said name. When it clicked in my brain, I nodded my head at her.
"Jeremy's former soccer team mate back when we were still in high school?" I asked slightly unsure.
She smiled nodding. "Yup."
I tilted my head. "What about him?"
She bit her lip. "He's been asking me out on a date for 2 weeks now."
My eyes widen at that.
"Hold up. 2 weeks?"
She nodded refraining from smiling.
"Are you serious?"
She nodded again.
"And why didn't you say yes yet?"
She rolled her eyes. "Oh my god. Have you forgotten?"
I frowned.
"What?"
"He's a jerk. Back in high school and up till now." She said and my mouth formed an 'o' once remembering he was a jerk.
"Yeah I agree. He was a jerk. No offense."
She shook her head. "No offense taken."
"So is there any more suitors other than him?" I asked.
"Other than your past high school crush, that's all it." She said and I nodded.
But when I caught what she said, I frowned at her.
"Wait what?"
She smiled but it came out as a grimace.
"Jeremy kinda asked me out as well." She said fiddling with her fingers.
I raised a brow.
Well it's not like I still have a crush on him anyway.
"Well that's good then."
She looked at me a bit shocked.
"Wait what?"
I chuckled. "Like you said Besty, he was my past crush. Notice the word past."
"Well I know that. But I just think it's kinda weird."
I chuckled once again. "How so?"
She shrugged. "I don't know. Maybe because you liked him before, I guess."
"It's fine, Besty. If you like him, then go for it."
She shuddered. "I don't even like him. I mean he's cool and all, but he's way too conceited for his own good."
I rolled my eyes.
"You're just being choosy. Admit it." I teased. "Also, yes, I agree with Jeremy being way too damn conceited for his own damn good."
"You know well that he's a conceited jerk. Just not as a jerk as Andrei but still a jerk nonetheless."
"Ehhh. That's true. I don't even know why I liked him back in high school." I said reminiscing the past.
She chuckled. "That's because you looked down at his crotch and saw how big his d*ck can get specially when he's hard."
I gaped at her.
Bless her soul. We all know that is not the truth.
"Nuh uh. Stop making up stories Besty." I defended.
She rolled her eyes. "Oh please. We all know that's the only place you stare at specially during when he's playing soccer. You even said it yourself that you like him wearing a boxer briefs than bikini once. Clearly, you saw him when he was half naked and left nothing to your kinky imagination." She teased again.
"Oh my god. That's not true."
She smirked. "Liars go to hell."
"Oh please. I've been there. I just came back to get sun block."
She snorted and laughed.
"Oh my god." She said between her laugh.
"It's not like neither of us are going to heaven. We both know you have longer Satanic horns than I do." I joked and she laughed even harder.
I snapped my gaze towards the door when I heard a knock.
"Hold on. Someone's knocking on my door." I told her and she laughed.
"That's Satan." She joked and I chuckled.
"Could be. Or maybe just my booty call." I stated.
"Your what?"
I turned to the door. "Come in."
And with that, two guys stepped in with my things in their hands.
They walked to the bed, giving Besty a view of them.
"Oh my. Who are those fine human beings?" She said as she looked over my shoulder through the screen.
"Keep your filthy vagina to yourself Besty. They're both taken."
She pouted. "Aw. How did you know?"
I gave her a smug look.
"I just know."
She gasped. "Oh my lord. Those guys are your booty call? So is Connor?" She asked.
"Uh what?"
"You son of a gun, you've been whoring around?"
"Oh my god Besty, I was just kidding. And also, you seriously need Jesus." I stated horrified.
"No wonder Satan likes you so much. Wow."
I rolled my eyes. "Oh please. You're more demonic than me so cut the angelic crap."
"Whatever. So can I at least know their names?"
The two guys walked passed me with red tint on their cheeks. Clearly, they heard our conversation.
Not my fault. My best friend is just too hormonal for her own good. I'm surprised she didn't get herself preggers from a stranger.
The two guys stepped out the door.
"Yeah sure."
She beamed. "Really?"
"The guy with grey shirt is Hormonal. And the other is Witch." I told her as I tried to restrain myself from laughing.
"Hormonal Witch?" She spoke.
"Yeah. That's you."
She gasped. "You son of a....."
"Bye!"
And with that, I hang up.
After that call, I placed my laptop back inside my back pack and headed to the bed where most of my things are placed.
When I was done placing my stuff inside the closet, I heard another knock from my door.
I remembered the conversation I had with Besty on who might be knocking and I chuckled.
"That could be Satan." I spoke under my breath and chuckled slightly.
I went towards the door and opened it, revealing Connor.
"Babe, we need to talk." He said.
"Finally."
And right then and there, fear became visible in his eyes.
"Is it okay if we go somewhere so we can talk privately?" He asked and I nodded my reply to him.
Once I was out the room, I saw Kellan standing a few distance from us.
"An hour Connor, and that's it." He said making me turn to my boyfriend with a questioning gaze.
He looked down at me and smiled, not even answering my unspoken question.
"Let's just go for a walk, shall we?" He said and I once again nodded my reply.
He took my hand and guided me down the stairs.
"Watch your step." He said in a gentleman way making me chuckle and shake my head at him.
"I'm not a pregnant girl who can't walk down the stairs, you idiot." I said while trying my best not to smile at his sweet gesture.
"Well, we don't know that yet." He responded back with a grin as I took his hand while he guided me down the steps. Also, the fear that was once visible in his eyes was now gone.
"Shut up. I'm a guy Connor. Clearly, If it's not too obvious for you, I can't get pregnant." I stated with a raised brow but with a smile.
"We won't know if we don't try." He said with a wiggle of his brows, making me roll my eyes at him.
"No matter how many times we go at it Connor, I still won't get a baby grow inside me, and that's the hard truth."
"Well then we'll just enjoy ourselves when we go at it." He said as he pulled me towards him making me crash into his hard but oddly comfortable chest.
"Are you suggesting we go hump like drugged bunnies right in the very front of the house?" I deadpanned. "Dignity, Connor. Learn to spell it, then understand it's meaning."
"Okay my nerdy baby. I get it. We can't have sex in the front lawn. Noted." He said as he wrapped his arms around my waist and snuggle his nose into my neck, inhaling deeply.
"Good. So will you keep your hormones in check for now? We still have to talk about something." I said and instantly, the atmosphere around me and him changed a complete one hundred eighty degrees.
"Right." He replied sighing. "About that. I have some things I have to tell you." He added with cautious eyes and I eyed him warily but still being curious as to what are the things he's going to tell me.
"Am I not going to like this?"
"I don't know." He admitted as he kissed my forehead.
I frowned. "Okay now I don't like it even if you haven't told me anything yet." I said honestly.
He chuckled "Now what happened to being as positive as possible?" He asked as he pulled away and gave me a teasing look.
"Oh shush. You're the one whose being negative here, not me. I just got a splash from you that's why I got these negative thoughts." I reasoned out cheekily trying to atleast lighten up the atmosphere we are in at the moment.
"Okay. It's my fault then." He said as he shook his head at me.
I giggled. "You love me too much to give me the blame."
"And that right there is true." He said as we started walking into a path heading into the forest.
As we walked, Connor's hand was interlaced with mine as tightly as humanly possible without breaking my bones. I don't know what is up with him or what is running in his head, but I do know something is seriously wrong. And him being quiet for almost ten minutes since we started walking into the forest made me think my suspicions are true.
I looked around me warily since it's kind of dark in this forest because of the abundant vegetation and thick trees standing tall all around.
"Connor where are we going? We've been walking for like ten minutes now and you haven't uttered a single word, can you tell me what really is wrong?" I pushed as I squeezed his hand in reassurance that I'm here to listen what ever he's going to tell me.
Then suddenly, we stopped dead in our tracks which made me look up at my boyfriend in confusion.
"Uh, where are we exactly?" I questioned as I looked around our surrounding but as usual, all I saw was thick tree trunks and fallen branches scattered around and dead leaves occupying majority of the ground we're standing.
"Ash?" He said making me turn my attention back to him and instantly, I frowned.
His face shows that what ever confession he's going to tell me, won't do any good for the both of us. And that made me feel scared of what might happen to our relationship.
"W-What is it?"
"But first, before anything else, promise me you won't hate me or run away?" He said sounding devastated and scared.
"Why would I hate you or even run away from you?" I asked.
"Just promise me babe. Please." He said pleadingly without looking at me.
I remained standing there, staring at the person that was currently making me feel confused as ever. I don't know how long I stood there staring at him, while he was staring into a nearby tree trunk with his expression broken, that if you uttered a wrong word would break him even more.
I sighed. "I promise." I said nearly a whisper.
And there he gave me a small smile.
He took a huge amount of breath in hopes of calming his nerves down. "Babe I'm a we....." But before he could finish what he was about to tell me, A very familiar voice stopped him.
"Shut your f*cking mouth up or I will make sure your body will be a fertilizer to this very forest." Arthur interrupted as he walked out of the shadow the huge tree was having.
Connor let out a menacing growl, making me quiver where I stood.
"You agreed to give me the f*cking time that I need, and now, the f*cking hell are you doing here?" Connor spat in anger.
"I let you have the time you asked for, but I never agreed of you telling my mate who we are. It's my place to tell him, not yours." Arthur growled back as powerful -or maybe more powerful than of Connor's- making me shiver uncontrollably.
Connor snarled as he bared his teeth animalistically as Arthur did the same.
when I finally realize what they were doing, I snapped out of it.
These two are acting like a bunch of idiots.
"Okay will you both stop? What is this, competition for who has the whiter teeth or something? And will you both cut the growling thing. It's creeping me the heck out right here." I scolded making both of them turn their attention to me with confused look.
When they didn't utter a single freaking word, I raised my eyebrows to the both of them.
"What? Are the both of you going to stand there looking like an idiot, or are you planning to explain what you guys are talking about? cause if not, then I might as well leave." I threatened as I turned my back to them and decided to walk back to the mansion and let the two idiots have their snarling and growling competition continue.
"Ash stop." Arthur said using a voice that kind of have this odd control over my body. "I will tell you what you want to know. But promise that you won't run away." He added and I groaned, clearly getting really annoyed.
"Oh for Pete's sake, just freaking cut my legs off so I won't run away. God, just tell me what the heck is going on." I snapped making him looked like he was taken aback by my sudden outburst.
He sighed. "Okay. I will tell you everything you wanted to know."
My attention went back to Connor when he growled angrily once again.
"I will tell him what he wants to know, not you mother*cker." He spat venomously.
Arthur pushed Connor in the chest, making him stumble back a little.
"I'm his mate, not you." Arthur whispered with rage into Connor's face.
"Stop!" I snapped frustrated after finally having enough of their endless banter. "I don't care what you guys are arguing about so please, just cut it." I said as I gave the both of them an angry look.
"If both of you will just argue on whose telling me whatever news it is, might as well just leave. I've had enough of you both." I added. "But, if you two managed to be a civilized people and tell me what you want to tell me without trying to kill each other off, I would gladly appreciate it."
They looked at each other with deadly glares before Arthur sighed.
"All I want is to get this settled and go home with my mate." Arthur admitted.
"So do I." Connor replied.
"And same goes with me. I just want to have all this settled down for good. So please, both of you, tell me what the heck is going on." I pleaded.
Arthur sighed once again.
"Fine. We'll both tell you." He said.
I sighed out a breath of relief and nodded my head.
"Thank you."
"But first, we have to strip our clothes off." Arthur said sending a glare to Connor who glared back as intense as what he received.
"Good." I replied.
But then....
"Wait what?"
