                    Ashley's POV
After the talk I had with Connor, we both decided to approach Arthur and open the subject he and I discussed. After explaining to Arthur about it, he finally agreed and told us we should tell Kellan so he can arrange everything.
A few hours later...
It was finally done. Connor can now finally start over with a clean slate.
After the ceremony, people left with only a few remained in the gathering, mainly consisted of the elders who didn't approve of Kellan's decision. They were infuriated that he didn't consult them about it before putting it to action. Well, they didn't have to know Kellan's plan, which was exactly to leave the elders in the dark, just for it to work. And since we already know that the elders would surely stand against Kellan's decision, if he did in fact told them of his plan, we were thankful he opened it up to us instead of them.
It took another hour of arguments between Kellan and his elders before everything was settled down. If it weren't for Arthur, they would still be basically in each other's throats, with none of them having the intention to back down. Arthur announced that Connor's going with us when we go back to Arizona, with him temporarily joining Arthur's pack.
And once Arthur mentioned Connor being my protector, the elders no longer argued and finally agreed.
"Hey, you ready?" Arthur asked with a duffle bag in his hand.
I turned to him and nodded my head after closing the zipper on my own backpack.
"Yup."
He smiled. "Do you have everything?"
I nodded again, before I slung my bag on my shoulder. Arthur then opened the door for me and we both headed out.
Once we're outside the house, we meet up with all the guys that accompanied Arthur on his journey here. Brandon was talking to a pack warrior when he momentarily met my eyes and sent me a smile. After a couple of hugs and goodbyes to Kellan, Cheska, as well as to their welcoming pack, we were finally on the road towards the airport.
Glancing back towards the huge house, I waved goodbye to Cheska who was still standing next to her husband. My stay here may not be the best, but I still managed to enjoy it, other than the dramas we encountered along the way obviously.
Now, I'm sure it's a lot more different for Connor, considering he's not going to be visiting this place anytime soon.
"What's on your mind, Ash?" Arthur asked 15 minutes into our drive.
I quickly met his gaze before sighing. "I'm just a little worried about Connor." I admitted.
I know it's hard for him to leave the place he grew up in. And no matter how good he does on trying to hide his emotions, I can still see past all those barriers he put up. His eyes would always betray him as he tries his best to hide the pain with a faćade he mastered so well to wear, but not to me. He's obviously trying to show every single one of us that he's okay, even though clearly, he's not.
Behind the mask, I can see the pure sadness and the heartbreak.
Despite all the hardships he's going through, he stayed strong. He even said that, he'll try to see whatever is happening as some kind of a blessing in disguise. I didn't understand what he meant at first, but when he explained that this is what he's meant to do, I can finally see that everything that happened, has a reason behind it.
"I can now fulfill my destiny as your protector." Was what he said that stuck in mind.
And somehow, with that single sentence he spoke to me, it made me feel a little guilty. It's like I'm the reason why all this is happening to him, why he's suffering. And what's worse? After he's confessed that he wanted to bond himself to me for all his life, didn't make the feeling of guilt any better.
"I'm sure he'll be fine." Arthur said, snapping me out of my worry filled thoughts.
I sighed once more, turning to face the window of the car as we slowly approached the airport.
Instead of stopping in front of the departure area, the car entered a well guarded part of the airport where a private jet is waiting.
I frowned, thinking the driver got lost or something. Turning to Arthur with the same frown on my face, he chuckled lowly before he took my hand in his.
Why the heck is he chuckling when we can obviously get in serious trouble for entering the airport's restricted area.
"Uhm, I'm pretty sure the departure is that way." I stated, pointing from where we just passed at.
He chuckled again.
"I know." He said before giving me a smile. "But we're using a private plane, so there's no need for us to do the usual security check."
I blinked multiple times.
Did he say a private plane?
As my eyes turned to the spacious looking jet waiting for us on the tarmac, I couldn't help but gape at it.
Oh my goodness! That's so fancy looking.
I'm pretty sure that can't be it, is it?
"That plane?" I asked, pointing at the white unibody jet with gold accents on it's sides, belly, as well as on both winglets and horizontal stabilizer.
Arthur chuckled once again. "Yes, that plane."
I gasped. "Holy cheeseballs." I whispered in awe.
Obviously, Arthur heard what I just said because he burst out into a fit of laughter. Damn! I should learn to be even quieter the next time, or else I'll keep embarrassing myself.
"Holy Cheeseballs? Really?" He asked in between laughter, in which I only nodded my head from embarrassment.
I just sat there staring at his laughing form, waiting for him to finally calm down. And since he was still preoccupied from making fun of me, I took it as an opportunity to really take a good look at him.
He really is a gorgeous man, that's a fact.
I observed how his eyes glimmer as he continue to laugh, how white and straight his teeth are, how defined his stubble covered jawline is, and just how basically everything about him seems like true perfection.
As my eyes travel down from his lips to his Adam's apple, then to his broad shoulders, I noticed how dominant he looks. Commanding and intimidating. Even without him trying to look like it, just by how he stood and how he shows himself, you would instantly feel his dominating aura.
If you could just really look at him and appreciate his physical features, you would think you're literally face to face with a Greek God. Couple that with a great personality and a good heart, he's literally the fullest package you can find from a man.
Now imagine how he would look like without all those clothing? Now that would be 'Holy Cheeseballs' worthy.
"Enjoying the view?" Arthur teased, effectively snapping me out of my daydream.
And since he caught me red handed about openly checking him out like it's totally nobody's business, I felt all my blood rush into my face.
God damn him and his awesomely good looks.
"Everyone's already inside the plane, we're the only one's they're waiting to board." He said with a mischievous smile, causing for my already heated face to even heat up, if that's even possible.
I blinked, as I tried to compose myself.
I seriously had to adjust myself on my seat before I faked clearing my throat. It was getting hot inside the car even though the AC was blowing straight at me. Wow! How awkward.
"Uhm, okay, let me just adjust my crotch.... my bag, I meant my bag. It's way too tight, I had to adjust the strap." I stuttered out stupidly with a prominent blush on my cheeks.
Oh my goodness, what the heck is going on?
Arthur chuckled at me again before he offered his hand. I didn't even notice him getting out of the car.
I sighed, hoping to get myself in check.
I took his hand and he slowly helped me step out of the car, placing his other hand on top of my head, making sure I won't hit the frame of the door. Once, I was finally out of the car, I breathed in a huge amount of air as a gust of wind blew past me. Taking in the view, I couldn't help but gape once more at the magnificent looking jet, waiting for us to board.
"Come on." He said, once again offering me his hand, which I gladly took.
He then led me towards the entrance and guided my up the steps. Once we were inside, maybe a good dozen pair of eyes, except for Connor, was trained straight at me, couple with a dozen knowing smirks.
I blushed deeply again after realizing why they were looking at me like that.
Oh my god, they saw. How humiliating.
They only broke away when Arthur cleared his throat. I looked up at him and saw how he's glaring at each of them, forcing them to look away.
"Thanks." I mumbled lowly at him as he led us to our seats.
He smiled at me before ushering me to sit down. Once he had our stuff secured, he turned to me, he knelt, and did my seat belt.
"It's okay, I can do it." I spoke, as I watch him.
His eyes met mine before he smiled with a gentle glint in his eyes.
"I know, but I want to do it for you." Was all he said and my cheeks went to a blushing mess again.
I gave him a shy but grateful smile.
"Thank you."
Without even a warning, his face closed in to mine, but stopped when our lips was merely an inch from touching, then he went to kiss the tip of my nose.
Pulling away, he gave me a wink before he stood to his full height.
"Anything for you, little bunny." He said before he walked towards the cockpit, probably to meet the captain and first officer.
What was that about? And hold the damn flip phone, did he just call me 'little bunny'?
An hour into the flight, I got board after playing 'Wordscapes' on my phone. I set the device aside and turned to Arthur who was busy typing away on his laptop, which I'm guessing, he's doing some important business.
So seeing as I won't be able to talk to him; I didn't want to disturb him anyway, I decided to just settle on my seat and stare at the screen in front of me.
And as I sat there doing nothing, my mind started to wander around again. Like usual, it was about Connor. It's like, whenever I let my mind have the time to wander, it always head straight to the subject about Connor. I'm not doing it on purpose, it's just that, I'm still worried about him.
I don't know how this move to Arthur's place would affect him in any way, which only adds up to my already worried mind.
And most importantly, I was also worried about the bonding ritual I still have to decide on.
Honestly speaking, I still don't know what to decided about it. I mean, I know my answer's going to be yes, but it's just that, I still have a lot of doubts.
I was about to tell Arthur regarding to that matter after I talked with Connor but then decided to save it for later. And since he's also clearly busy at the moment, I couldn't open it up to him now.
Or maybe I could do it after we arrived, since I'll have all the time to have a talk with Arthur.
So with that plan in mind, my thoughts then wander to when I had a conversation with an elder whose name I couldn't quite remember.
I think it was Daniel? Delliard? I'm not sure, but what I'm certain about is that, it started with a letter 'D', that's all.
Anyways, the duration of our conversation was mainly consisted of me asking about what a Soul Protector means and why a bonding was needed, or as what he likes to call it, a mind link. Unfortunately, I found out that if I said no to a wanderer's wish to bond his mind with mine's, it will cause him to loose his life, which scared the hell out of me after hearing it from the elder himself. I mean, how can Connor leave such important information when I could have said no at that exact moment? As always again, he's being reckless.
Also, according to said elder, I'm basically holding Connor's fate if he lives or die, specially when he asks for permission to link his mind with mine. And in my honest opinion, that sounded way too unfair. Like, how can I be holding someone's life if I, myself, is only mortal who in time will die? I'm no god to give someone judgements, and it's not my decision to take someone's life.
Everyone deserves freedom, and everyone deserves to live the life how they wanted it to be. And if I'm holding Connor's fate, that means he doesn't have the freedom he really deserve.
If I'm a God, an immortal, or just have the power to do what ever I wish, I would reverse whatever the Gods have given to Connor and hand him the chance to live his life without anyone, not even a God, to dictate him on what he decides to do. If I was a God, I will give Connor the chance to choose who he wanted to love and spend the rest of his life with. And if I was a God, I will let him have the freedom he truly deserved. But then again, it was only all a bunch of "if's" because I'm no God, neither an immortal, or a supernatural being that's gifted with such powers. I'm only a mere human and all I can do is wish.
"Ash?" Arthur spoke and I looked up from the screen I was staring at, as I was once again lost in my own river of thoughts.
"Yeah?"
"Are you okay? You seemed deep in thought." He asked after closing his laptop and setting it on the side.
"Oh, I was just thinking." I replied with a shrug.
He hummed. "Do you want to talk about it? Maybe I can help." He offered.
And in that moment, I decided maybe I should just open the subject about Connor and I's mind link ritual. Since I already have his attention, why not talk about it instead of delaying it till later.
"Well uhm, actually, there is something I wanted to talk to you about." I admitted, slightly hesitant to spill the questions out to him all of a sudden.
He scooted closer to me and propped himself up better until our forearms are touching, sending a pleasurable sparks of electricity to my body. I gasped as the spark traveled from my arm to the rest of my body, which had Arthur smirking at me.
The jerk!
"What is it bunny?" He encouraged gently as he kissed my shoulder egging me to tell him.
Well I was about to. But with him being all touchy touchy isn't helping with my concentration. So he better cut it out.
"I uhm, well it's about Connor, a-actually." I stutter and his eyebrows immediately rose up at the mention of the said name.
"What about him?" He asked curiously as he gazed at the people minding their own business behind us.
"Well, yesterday when I went to talk to him, he asked me about something." I stated still not spilling the beans to him completely.
"And?" He pushed making me bite my bottom lip.
"He uh, he asked if I'll allow him to bond his mind with mine's to complete the process of him being my protector." I finally said and saw Arthur form a frown on his face.
"Oh." Was all he said which, instantly, had me confused.
"Oh?" I stated as I return his word in a questioning manner.
"Did you say no?" He asked with the same frown, this time, he took my hand in his, sending another set of sparks throughout my body.
I shuddered at the feel before regaining my slightly lost composure and focused back on the subject.
"No, not really. I just told him I wanted to tell you about it first before I make a decision." I admitted causing for Arthur's eyes to show a glint of what I assume is happiness.
"You said that?" He asked, trying but failing miserably from keeping himself from smiling.
"Uhm, yes I did. Why? Is there something wrong with what I said?" I asked.
"No, not at all. I was just happy at the same time surprised that you wanted to consult me first before making a decision. It made me feel.... warm." He admitted as a smile made it's appearance on my face, and for Arthur's own to widen.
"I'm your mate, am I?"
"Yes. Yes you are my mate. Which makes you mine and mine only." He said lowly as he nuzzled my hand before giving it a kiss, causing for a chill to run down my spine at the intensity of his voice.
"So I figured I should ask you first before I say yes." I added.
He hummed, giving my hand another kiss. "Do you want to say yes?" He asked. "Not just because you know he'll die if you said no, but because you wanted to." He added, which obviously caught me off guard.
"How did you know he's......" I spoke but immediately got cut off.
"I always knew." He said.
With that, I glared at him.
I swear I almost smacked his head.
"You know all along, and you didn't even tell me?" I questioned, still glaring at him.
He backed out a little bit.
"I declined on telling you because I thought you'd freak out." He reasoned, causing for him to earn a smack on the forehead.
Here I am thinking Connor was being reckless, when Arthur himself didn't say a word about it.
"I could have killed him if I said no, you nut head." I stated, flicking his nose.
"I'm sorry." He apologized, earning him another flick on the nose.
I groaned. "And I thought Connor was reckless." I said directly at him before I huffed and crossed my arms, looking away from him.
"I'm sorry, okay." He apologized again.
"Look, I know you hate his guts and want him dead, but, you have to realize that he have a place in my life." I told him, silencing him in the process. "I wanted to say 'yes' at that instant, but I thought of asking you first, that's why I told him I'll think about it. Arthur, no matter how many times you flip the world upside down, Connor will always have a part of me, a special place in my heart. He's been there for me as my friend right before we became a couple. And just because he's my ex-boyfriend doesn't mean he doesn't deserve to be my soul protector or how ever you call it." I confessed, no longer holding the words that was once threatening to spill out of my mouth.
"I understand. And I'm sorry." He once again apologized, taking my hand into his, and giving it a gentle squeeze.
"What ever your decision's going to be, I'll always be here to support you." He admitted, as we stared into each other's eyes, slowly getting lost in them. "Always."
Arthur's POV
After we completed our flight back home, my little bunny was already tired and worn out. I figured maybe I should take him to the pack house so he could take some rest and then take him home to his parents in the morning. But I'm also debating whether I should do it or not. I mean, I can ask him if he wanted to stay at the pack house for the night, but what if he said no?
I know it's not really a big deal if he chose to go home to his parents. I'm just being too clingy I guess, which makes me feel pathetic with myself with how I was acting. It's normal, I know, but it's just, I want him on my side the whole time. I want him to be always safe with me.
I turned to look at his sleeping form and slowly caressed his soft cheeks. His breathing was even and his heartbeat was steady. He was in peace. Just seeing him in this state made him look like an angel sent from above.
My angel.
I'm already head over heels for Ash and we're not even official yet. I haven't even asked him out on a proper date, and yet here I am, already acting like the possessive boyfriend that I'll surely become.
I mean, I'm not saying being head over heels towards Ash is a bad thing because it never is. It just that, I keep surprising myself with how I act around Ash. I feel like I can't stay in one place without knowing if Ash was fine. And I feel like it will be the cause of my death if Ash wasn't by my side even just for a minute.
We're just scared to lose our mate again Arthur. Don't be so hard on yourself. It's not only you who's being paranoid all the time. So it's totally normal to act that way especially when we've been searching for him for six years. My wolf spoke in my head assuringly.
I know that Zion. But don't you think we're being too much? What if we're starting to annoy the hell out of Ash and we're too blind to notice it? I asked.
How will we know if we don't ask him? He asked stating an obvious fact.
So are you saying we'll go ask him if we're being too annoying? I asked sarcastically, chuckling a little.
If you plan to be straight to the point, then yes. He said as he sassed back.
I rolled my eyes as he slowly vanished back into the depths of my mind.
And with that, I was once again left to deal with my own train of thoughts. But like what Zion said, I should talk to Ash about certain things, and I should do just that.
When we're getting ready to hop inside the car to head to the pack house, I approached my little bunny who was standing there looking tired, surrounded by two warriors as the others secured our things inside the trunk.
"Hey bunny." I greeted, placing a tender kiss on his forehead. "Come on, let's get you settled down inside the car so you can rest while we drive back to the pack house." I told him as I led him towards the car.
"Hmmm." He hummed in response with droppy eyes.
"The drive back won't be too long." I told him as I placed his backpack in the backseat.
He seems really out of it as he let me drag his tired body. I smiled and guided him towards the passenger seat.
"Watch your head." I said after I helped him step inside.
Once his body was situated on the leather seat of my car, his eyes immediately closed as he leaned his head on the head rest. I buckled him up seeing as he's way too drained out to do it himself.
After securing him, I gave his forehead a light kiss once again before I went around the car towards the driver's seat.
When the car was on ignition, I turned to my mate.
"Babe?" I spoke gently, trying not to startle him in anyway.
He hummed once again, telling me his awake.
"There's something I want to ask you." I stated in which he sat up and turned his tired gaze to me.
"What is it?" He replied sleepily as he rubbed his eyes a bit too aggressively.
I stopped his hand from rubbing his right eye and gave his hand a kiss. "Don't rub your eyes too hard. You might hurt yourself." I told him in which he nodded. "I was just wondering if you want to stay in the pack house for the night or if you want to go home to your parents."
He didn't even though of it at all and gave me his answer.
"I wanna stay with you." He stated sleepily which had me smiling like a freaking creep.
"Are you sure?" I asked in confirmation.
He nodded again.
"Yes." He said softly with his eyes closed.
I chuckled as I put the car in motion.
"Do you want to be in a separate room or do you wanna sleep next to me?" I asked again, now keeping my eyes on the road.
"Next to you. Now drive, I'm tired." Was all he said which had me grinning from ear to ear.
"As you wish my Luna." Damn. I didn't know he can be feisty when he wants to, specially when he's way too sleepy. I really do learn a lot of stuff about him everyday.
And I will never f*cking complain about his feistiness. Why would I when it's hella sexy.
Silently pumping the air, I was seriously going to jump with joy that my mate wants to sleep next to me. That just warmed me in all the right places and I love it. The feeling was foreign, but I gladly and wholeheartedly welcomed it.
If I'm going to get this feeling of having butterflies in my stomach all the time, then might as well get used to it.
"What about your parents? Do they know you're staying with me for tonight?" I asked as I rubbed circles on his hand.
"I will send them a text after we made it to the pack house. Now shut up, I'm trying to sleep here." He stated sassily again.
I bit my lip as I forced myself not to devour him at the very second.
"Alright." I yielded. "Just make sure to send them a text so they won't get worried, okay?" He only nodded his head before he situated himself comfortably on his seat and going to sleep.
The drive wasn't that long since I drove at almost 90-ish miles per hour, way past the speed limit, but who the f*ck cares. I was just eager to be home knowing my mate was exhausted and I want him to be in bed him.
We arrived at the pack house with most of my men worn out from the travel. I stepped out of the car and closed the door carefully so I won't wake my mate up. After I unbuckled him without waking him up, I slowly and gently lifted him bridal style into my arms.
"We'll take care of the bags and belongings, Alpha. You can go and put Luna in bed so he can have his much needed rest." Brandon said as I tried to pick up Ash's bag.
"Thank you Brandon." I told him then turned my gaze to Connor who was standing with both hands full of stuff. "And can you also bring Connor to his room after you guys take all this stuff inside?" I added.
"No problem, Alpha." He replied and I made my way inside and went straight to the elevator heading to my apartment. But before I was able to get inside the elevator, Nate suddenly spoke up while standing in the hallway, stopping me on my feet.
"Is...Is that him? Your mate?" He asked lowly as he stared at the sleeping beauty in my arms.
I looked down at my mate and smiled softly at how his lips form a little pout when he sleeps and how he snuggles into me in search for warmth.
"Yeah. I finally found him Nate." I admitted as my heart filled with great happiness.
Nate smiled widely and walked towards me to get a better look at my sleeping mate.
"He's perfect, Thor. I'm so happy for you that you finally found your mate." He said, still keeping his voice low as he gave my shoulder a pat.
"Thank you brother." I replied.
"Hey Nate, Jasmine has been looking for yo....." She didn't get to finish what she was going to say when her husband shushed her, earning him a glare. But when her eyes spotted me, she beamed happily before walking towards us.
"Arthur, you're back." Jenny said with a low voice as well.
"Hi Jenny. It's nice to see you." I greeted.
"Me too." Was her reply before her eyes darted down to Ash. "Who's he?" She asked as she stood next to her husband.
"My mate." I responded back and was responded with a gasp that escaped from Jenny's mouth.
"Oh my god." She exclaimed, trying to contain herself. "You found your mate? I-I'm so happy for you." She said with her hand on her chest while also sporting watery eyes.
"Thank you, the both of you." I said grateful to their reaction. Now the only ones who still didn't know that my mate is here are my parents, and maybe by tomorrow I will tell them the news, as well as the pack.
"Oh my god he's so adorable." She gushed around after seeing my mate's adorable sleeping face. "What's his name?" Jenny swooned happily while taking another peak at my mate's face that was buried into my chest.
"His name is Ashley. And yes, he's f*cking adorable." I replied feeling proud that they already adore my mate who will be their future Luna very soon.
"Ashley." She said trying the name on her tongue. "Gosh, even his name is so damn adorable." She commented and gave a bright smile.
"I know, right. Everything about him is just..... near perfection." I stated as I looked down at Ash's sleeping face.
"And I bet he will be an amazing Luna to the pack. I just know it." She said positively making me beam at her.
"Yeah. I bet he'll do great." I responded agreeing to what she said.
"Anyway, I know you guys are all tired and exhausted from the travel, so we'll let you and have a rest." Nathan said as he wrapped his arms on his wife's waist.
"I'm not really that tired. Plus, I have to take care of the paperwork that I left. But my mate is. I know he's exhasuted from the flight and drive back." I stated as I waited for the elevator door to open once again. "I'll see you love birds tomorrow at breakfast." I told them as I started making my way inside the elevator.
"Yeah. We will see you new love birds in the morning too." Jenny said with a huge smile on her face.
With that, I gave the both of them a nod as the elevator door closed in front of me.
"Oh Arthur." Nate said stopping the door from closing fully with his hand.
I turned to him with a slightly raised brows. "Yeah?"
"Don't worry about the paperwork. I got them all covered for you so you can have a rest." Nate said.
"Oh. Well thank you for that, man. Much appreciated." I replied.
"No problem."
And with that, he withdrew his hand making the door close. I pressed the right floor and waited for us to reach it. Not long after, the elevator door opened and I stepped out and headed towards my apartment.
After managing to place my finger on the scanner, I stepped in and headed to my room. The place was dark but thanks to my heightened sight, I was able to stir through the furnitures and made it inside my bedroom safely with Ash breathing softly in my arms.
Slowly, I placed him down on the bed. I took off his shoes and placed them neatly under the bed. But then, I started debating whether I should take his jeans and shirt off. We all know how uncomfortable it is to sleep with that much clothes on, so maybe I should atleast take it off so he could sleep nicely. Besides, I saw him sleeping with only his pajamas on. However, I have one problem. Speaking of pajamas, I don't know where it is.
Pretty sure they are in his bag but then his belongings are still downstairs. I'm too tired to go down there just to retrieve a goddamn pair of pajamas.
So I have to use an alternate solution.
Make him wear my pajama or make him wear my shirt that I bet will be too large for him. But then again, wearing a shirt while sleeping is not so comfy at all. That leaves me to one option, I have to make him wear my pajama which is also a bit too large for his petite body.
After finalizing my decision, I rummage my closet to find the smallest pajama that I own. And thankfully after 10 minutes of seaarching, I manage to find one. But it was more of a sweatpants than a pajama.
I guess this'll do for now.
And now my new mission is to take Ash's uncomfortable clothing without waking him up.
I started with his socks, next was his shirt which took too much effort to take off since I don't want him to wake up. And lastly, his skin tight jeans that I bet if I wear one, my balls will scream mercy for me.
Finally, after accomplishing the task of taking his clothing off, my new mission now is to put on the sweatpants.
But you know me. I can't help myself when it comes to my mate. Before I slid the sleeping attire on him, I let my eyes feast on his amazingly perfect and slim body. I know I looked like a creep for taking advantage of his sleeping form, but can you blame me? I'm a sexually frustrated werewolf who needs the attention of his mate. I just can't simply control myself when it comes to him, you know. Especially when his marvelous body is on full view in front of me. I can't help but look and feast on it.
And knowing that he's only mine made everything so much better.
No one is allowed to stare at his beautiful body but me. No one can touch him but me. And no one can have him but me. He's all mine, as creepy and possessive as it may sound.
Realizing I stared at his body for too long -specifically his waist down to his southern part- I made my move to put the sweatpant on him so I can finally tuck him in under the comforter. And just what I expected, the sweatpants was too big for him that if he stands up with it, it will surely come off. But thankfully it was one of those sweatpants where you can adjust it.
After tucking him in bed, I gave his forehead a loving kiss. Then I went to the bathroom to clean myself first before going to bed next to my mate. I showered, brushed my teeth thoroughly, and pampered myself clean. When all of those are done, I walked out of the bathroom with only a towel wrapped around my body and headed inside my walk-in closet to fetch myself a clean underwear.
As much as I want to sleep naked like what I always do, I can't, knowing Ash is next to me. I know he's still learning to be comfortable around me, so as much as possible, I have to take things on his own pace. I don't want to overwhelm him when I do my thing. Also, I don't want him to freak out in the morning when he finds out that I'm sleeping next to him in nothing but my birthday suit. And how awkward it will be if he felt my morning wood which I get quite a lot lately.
So wearing briefs in bed will be what I'll be doing until Ash is comfortable enough for me to sleep naked.
When slipping the briefs on was done, I dried my hair using the towel. And once I was also done with it, I threw the towel in the hamper.
Stepping out of my walk-in closet, I made my way quietly to the bed and situated myself next to my mate who was still sleeping softly, and peacefully. After I made myself comfortable, I turned my eyes to my mate's face and marveled on his beauty.
The way he sleeps makes him look like an angel. My little angel. The way his chest heaves up and down as he breathes makes him look in complete peace. And the way his heartbeat rang in my ears makes me slowly fall into sleep. And as I slowly drift off to unconsciousness, I felt Ash scoot himself closer to me as he wrapped his arms on my waist and snuggled into my chest. With my mind half consumed with sleep, I still manage to somehow gaze my lips with a smile. And as I continued to listen to my mate's soothing heartbeat which serves as my personal lullaby, I completely let unconsciousness take over me with him making his way in my dreams.
The morning came and I have to say, that was one of the best sleep I ever had. The best one was when Ash first slept next to me when we were still in Colorado. But still, I slept like a freaking boulder and It felt good that I can't help but be a smiling mess early in the morning.
I stretched out my still sleeping muscles and let out a yawn. Then I turned to the side of the bed where Ash was sleeping but found it empty and unoccupied. I placed a hand to where we was lying and felt that it was still a bit warm, meaning he just left the bed. I turned to look around the room in hopes of finding my mate but found none. I sat up on the bed and slowly got out. I walked into the bathroom just in case he was there cleaning himself up but later then found the room empty. Then I walked out of the bathroom and the bedroom to head to the office just in case he's also there, or maybe in the living room. But as I was about to enter the living room, I heard soft humming and sizzling from the kitchen. Then the smell of bacon and toasted bread invaded my nostrils making my stomach growl in response.
Without even realizing it, I was already smiling from ear too ear at the picture my mind came up that my mate was cooking in the kitchen for breakfast.
With a smile which I'm guessing is permanently plastered on my face, I slowly made my way towards the kitchen.
When I'm at the corner, I peaked my head slightly to see if it was Ash cooking, and I was right. It was him making breakfast. But what caught my attention was something else.
He was no longer wearing the sweatpants I put on him last night, but a plain white shirt that belongs to me and was too big for him that it falls on his shoulders, showing off his soft, beautiful skin. And the hem of the shirt falls to his thighs slightly exposing his feminine hips and round butt.
Ash reached up to get something from the shelf effectively pulling the shirt up with him which gave me a nice view of his undies. And what's more cute is that it was colored purple with white stripes.
"Good morning beautiful." I greeted making Ash jump 10 feet off the ground in surprise and almost dropping the salt he was holding.
"Jesus Christ. You scared the heck out of me, Arthur." He said placing a hand on his chest.
"Sorry." I apologized with a grin which only made my apology less effective.
I walked towards him and made a move on putting my hand on his hips but he smacked them away making me pout like a f*cking baby.
"What did I tell you? I don't like being startled." He said while smacking my chest with a warning look on his face that made him look cute instead of scary.
"I didn't mean to startle you though. I'm sorry." I admitted wearing a genuine look of apology.
Instead of giving me a reply, he sent me a glare that can melt the polar ice caps.
"You're not sorry, it's quite clear you're making fun of me this early in the morning." He said accusingly as he narrowed his eyes at me.
"I'm not. I just wanted to greet you good morning. I didn't mean to startle you instead." I defended honestly.
He narrowed his eyes at me again. And to be honest, it was somewhat scary.
"Fine. But if you do it again, you know what will happen." He warned showing seriousness on his choice of voice.
"Ohhh, I know what will happen. A very nice action in bed?" I suggested as I placed both my hands on either side of his hips.
"Arthur what is wrong with you, you horny jerk." He slapped my chest again making me chuckle.
"Yes. He is always horny, so bear with him." A very familiar voice suddenly echoed throughout my apartment's kitchen. Ash and I instantly turned our heads to where the voice came from and saw Bethany standing there with a not-so-presentable bed hair and a wrinkled sleeping attire.
"Bethany?"
"It's me yow. The one and only." She presented herself proudly even though her current morning look said something else.
"How the f*ck did you get here?"
"I flew." She sassed like usual. "Well of course I drove up here, you idiot. What'd you expect?" She responded back sarcastically while flipping her uncombed hair.
"Okay. But what I mean is, when did you get here?" I asked shrugging of the fact that my sister is being her sassy self towards me again, this fine morning.
"Last night. Like 2 hours after you guys arrived." She shrugged like it was nothing.
"Seriously?"
"No, I was just kidding. I got here 2 years ago and this is still my freaking attire. And news flash, I'm a homeless person trying to rob your house at 8 o'clock in the morning." She responded back sassily again, flailing her hands around faking a panic.
"Bethany!" I scolded.
"What? I answered you seriously.
I sighed. "You're hopeless."
She shrugged again.
"What can I say, I'm freaking Bethany. Flawless, sexy, and crazy." She stated proudly causing for me to roll my eyes at her.
"Of course." I'm finally loosing hope on my sister, I swear. "But why didn't someone tell me you're here?"
"I dunno. Maybe because they did tried telling you but then found out that you were sleeping like a rock that even your butthole is snoring. So yeah, they gave up." Her continuous sass is starting to annoy me, to be honest. And if she did manage to annoy me, I'm going to smack some sense to that messy haired head of hers.
Sighing again, for the second time this early morning. "What ever Bethany."
"Anyways, back to the reason why I'm here in the first place." She said then suddenly let out a loud scream making me wince.
"What the f*ck Bethany. You'll wake everyone up." I scolded again but she just shrug it off. AGAIN.
"Uh, that's actually the reason why I screamed, you nutthead. To wake everyone up so they can meet your mate! Your freaking mate! Omg! You found your mate. I am so freaking happy right now, you don't even understand. And holy meatballs Arthur, he's freaking adorable." She babbled causing for Ash to hide behind me.
"Is she on weed or something?" Ash whispered behind me making me chuckle.
She may look like she takes weed but that's just her normal look on a daily basis. And I'm used to it.
"Aw, he's hiding behind you. How freaking cute. Gosh I love yaoi." She fangirled while I just shake my head at her.
"Shut up Benny. You're scaring my mate."
"Aw don't be scared little adorable puppy, I don't bite. Well not really, but just to my mate like last night, but yeah. Most of the time I don't bite." She stated and I mentally groaned.
"You just made him even more scared Bethany. Plus, your face looked like you're Pennywise's ex. Geez, fix yourself first." I told her which made her pout dramatically.
"It's not that bad." She defended while trying to fix her wrinkled pajamas and combed her hair using her hand.
"Oh yeah. Even Pennywise himself would beg to differ." I commented causing for her to send me a glare.
"Meanie. But can I atleast hug him before I go back to my room?" She asked clasping her hands together in plea.
"Only if Ash wants to." I replied and looked over my shoulder. "Do you want to, babe?" I asked Ash who was still hiding behind me.
"Uh, o-okay." He agreed with an adorable stutter with a cute blush gazing his cheeks.
Then Bethany let out an inhuman squeel while advancing her way towards my mate who got out from hiding behind me.
"OMG you are so freaking cute!" Bethany squeeled as she engulfed my mate into a hug, effectively ignoring me on the side.
"Uhm, t-thank you." Ash stuttered while sending a glance my way.
"We are so going to hang out." Bethany declared making Ash blink in response.
"Uhm, but I-I'm not sure if..." Ash said while glancing back and forth between me and her. But before he could even finish with what he was going to say, Bethany quickly cut him off.
"Oh hush, that is complete nonsense my dear. You are going out with me whether this a-hole right here allows you or not. Plus it's all my treat so you don't have to worry about anything." She declared as she send a smirk my way.
"And what makes you think I will let you do that?" I intervened with my arms crossed.
"Well, easy. I'm Bethany, I always find a way." She stated smugly.
I chuckled. "Not all the time sissy. Not when it comes to my mate. His safety is more important that hanging out."
"Ugh, protective much?" Benny asked with a raised brow.
"If I asked Brandon, I'm sure he will answer the same thing, sister." I stated which caused her to shut up.
"Well, that's kinda true. But can Ash and I still hang out? It's completely fine with me if you let some warriors go with us." She offered making me turn my attention over to Ash who was just standing next to Bethany silently.
"Ash?" I asked while staring at him expectantly.
Benny turned to him and pleaded with puppy eyes for better effect. "Please Ash. I really want to hang out with you. Get know you and each other better and all that." She explained.
"It's all up to you bunny if you want to go out." I offered.
"Well uh, I do want to explore around and get to know Bethany. So yeah." He answered shyly with bright cheeks.
"Yayy!" Benny squealed loudly which was too much for my ears to handle.
"Okay then, I will go with you just to make sure the both of you are safe. And will you quit squealing you f*cking squirrel."
"Yeah, yeah what ever. And will you also stop cussing. Your mate doesn't like it." She said.
"F*ck, sorry." And I wanted to punch myself in the face for the kind of apology I blurted out.
"And he said it again. Genius." Bethany said facepalming.
"It's fine. I'm just not used to hearing it so often." Ash spoke up.
"Yeah. If you noticed, people here tends to cuss a lot in every word they say, so you'll get used to it soon. If not, then just ignore them." Benny said and Ash nodded as his response.
"Yes I did noticed them too. It was kind of uncomfortable to listen." Ash admitted and I instantly gave a promise to myself to try not to cuss too much. For Ash.
"For you bunny, I'll try my best not to cuss." I said honestly and genuinely. Bethany awed not-so-quietly in the background.
Ash's cheeks then blushed a bright red.
"You don't have to, Arthur. I'm sure I'll get used to it." Ash replied shaking his head.
"But that doesn't mean I'm not going to try though." I reasoned making him smile softly at me.
"Oh yes you should. It's not healthy for someone's ear as innocent as Ash's to hear curse words all the time. So yes, you should stop cussing for good." She advised and I fought the urge to roll my eyes at her.
It's not like I'm the only one who cusses every so often around here. She also have to realize that her mouth isn't as innocent as she thought it is.
"What if you guys have kids and they hear you saying those nasty words? They will literally learn them from their own parents. And that right there, is very bad parenting." Benny lectured almost sounding like our own mother.
And this time, I did roll my eyes at her.
"Yes mother." I teased causing Ash to giggle.
"Oh shut up. You know damn well that I'm right." She sassed as I nodded my head in agreement. I don't plan to retaliate much longer, knowing it's a waste of time.
"Okay, okay. Mother dearest is right. No need to be argued about." I said dismissing the subject.
"Okay can we go out now? I wanna buy Ash some new clothes and all those good stuff." Benny said impatiently.
"Fine. We'll just have our breakfast then we will head out. Sounds great?"
Benny nodded. "Works for me."
"Babe?" I asked looking for confirmation.
"Works for me too." He replied smiling.
"Okay then. It's settled." I confirmed which made Benny smile from ear to ear creepily.
Now I'm sort of scared of what she's planning to do with this "hang out" thing. She can be pretty reckless sometimes, especially when she's in the mood of doing some stupid things. Now, I'm not being a kill joy or anything, because I had to admit, I also do crazy things back then. But now is a completely different situation from before. Now, I have my mate to take care of, as well as a pack to serve. So doing stupid stuff would be a bad idea considering my pack members, along with people who knew me, thinks I'm a serious and well behaved Alpha. But little did they know.
"So what time are we leaving? Because I have a lot of things in mind that we can do." Bethany said with a mischievous look on her face making me think that she's planning to do some serious bullsh*t.
"Probably at 10 a.m since I have to shower and all. Specially Ash."
"Okay." Is her reply before walking out the kitchen and out my apartment.
I turned to my mate whose eyes are still trained to where Bethany just left.
"So, what do you think of my sister?" I asked kinda knowing already what he's going to spill as his answer.
"Psychotic and Loud is all I'm going to say." He replied with a giggle.
"Can't really blame you for that." I said chuckling while grabbing my mate through his waist.
He let out a squeal after crashing into my chest.
"Oppss, my bad." I huskily said as I leaned down to his face causing for him to blush brightly and furiously.
"Should we be getting ready and all? It's almost 9 in the morning." Ash said looking up at me then towards the clock hanging above the fridge.
"We still have more time." I whispered into his ear making him shiver which I took pleasure so f*cking much.
"Yeah, but know we still have to shower and....." He cut himself off then he started sniffing around weirdly. "Wait, what's that smell?" He asked and I sniffed around as well, catching the smell of something burning. Then after Ash realized something, his eyes widens and pulled away from me and turned to the stove where he was cooking some bacon that was now burnt.
"Gahhh, oh my goodness. It's totally burnt." He said after turning the stove off and putting the pan into the sink to cool it down and to get rid of the burnt bacon.
I chuckled in which he flipped around quickly and sent me a glare.
"Not funny. I was almost done with the bacon but then you came in and startled me." He pouted and I walked towards him.
"Well at least you're done with the fried eggs and toast. So we still have breakfast." I stated motioning to the food in the warmer.
"Yeah I know, but I love breakfast with bacons. And I was planning to take those in the bedroom to give you breakfast in bed." He complained still pouting.
"I'm sorry." I apologize knowing it was actually me that partially caused this, while the huge part is Benny, since she just barged in like she's the freaking boss.
"It's fine. I guess I'll do it next time."
"What about we'll have breakfast downstairs along with the others. I'm pretty sure the cooks have prepared some bacon in there. So what do you say?" I offered causing him to smile.
"Okay." He beamed. "But wait, will there be a lot of people?" He suddenly asked while having an uncomfortable look on his gorgeous face.
"I should say that there will be a good amount of people since there are also a lot of pack members staying here in the pack house." I told him causing him to fidget on his feet.
"Uhm, okay." He replied nervously.
"Hey, don't worry. Everyone in this pack are nice and if there are some that will start acting like d*cks, I'll be there for you and I will make sure to deal with them." I said, gazing down at him lovingly. "Don't worry, I'm sure they will love you, especially when you're their future Luna." I assured pulling him to me then kissed his forehead.
He sighed deeply then replied. "Okay."
"So just consider this as a pre-introduction to the pack as my mate. Then soon enough, we'll set up a gathering to properly introduce you after we complete the mating process." I told him causing for him to nod understandingly.
And I just have to say. I'm the luckiest person to ever have him as my mate knowing how understanding and kind he is.
I am truly blessed by the moon goddess.
