Winter's POV
I'm still not certain of what it is or what it may be, but what I'm sure of is that there's something wrong with Ash. These past few hours he's been acting weird. Like how his mood changes at lightning speed and how he's been telling me that he's constantly hungry. And what I also noticed is that his scent kind of changed. Not drastically, but I can determine something faint that mixed with his. Also, not too long ago he threw up for some unknown reason.
I don't know what's going on, that's why I'm beginning to worry. In just a few hours we'll finally put our escape plan into action. But with Ash acting like this, I'm a bit wary of what might happen.
Taking me out of my thoughts, I heard Ash groan on his bed.
Turning to see what's going on, I saw he's sat up with his back resting on the headboard.
"What's the matter?" I asked after noticing small droplets of sweat starting to form on his forehead.
He then covered his mouth as he tried to prevent himself from heaving.
I frowned. "Do you feel like throwing up again?" I asked.
He nodded his head with his hand still covering his mouth. With that, I quickly told him to go to the bathroom just in case he did throw up. Without even wasting a second, he immediately complied and ran to the toilet bowl, out from my range of sight.
I got out of bed to follow him to the bathroom. There I saw him kneeling in front of the toilet bowl, throwing up whatever he has in his stomach. I walked towards him and started rubbing his back soothingly in hopes of it helping at the very least.
"Are you okay?" I asked. And after I said those words, all I could hear and see was him heaving his freaking guts out.
"Ash?" I called out his name worriedly.
He was panting before he flushed the toilet and wiping his mouth with a tissue paper and then threw it in the trash.
"Just... Just give me a minute." Was all he said before started heaving again.
After a few minutes, he finally calmed down. He flushed the toilet once more and then went to the sink to wash his mouth.
"What's going on, Ash?" I questioned after he stepped out of the small bathroom with me following behind.
He turned to meet my gaze.
He shook his head. "I don't know." Was what he said before he sat on the edge of the bed.
I sat next to him and started rubbing circles on his back. He was silent for a moment, probably racking his mind up of what may be the cause of why he's being like this.
He sighed. "I don't think it's something about what I ate. As far as I know, I'm not allergic to those kinds of stuff." He spoke thoughtfully as he started rubbing his stomach, which instantly grumbled. "And now I'm hungry." He muttered tiredly.
I frowned to myself as I thought of what's going on with him.
"And I also doubt it's food poisoning since we ate the same meal," I stated, making him nod his head.
"That's what I was thinking." He mumbled with a sigh.
I sat there silently as I tried to think of possible reasons why he's like this.
And right then and there, a thought popped into my mind.
I glanced into his neck to see if he was marked but didn't see any. But there's still a high possibility he'll get pregnant even without his mate marking him.
"I know this is a personal question but, have you and your mate had sex?" I questioned, causing Ash to snap his attention to me with wide embarrassed eyes.
"Why'd you asked?" He said, now blushing furiously.
Without him even telling me, I already know they've done it. If Ash's blushing and embarrassment doesn't give it away, then I don't know what will.
"When?" I questioned once again. Only intensifying Ash's bright red face.
"Why do you wanna know?" He said, in hopes of steering away from the subject.
"Just tell me." I pushed, making him bite his bottom lip.
"M-Maybe about two weeks ago? I d-don't really remember." He stuttered out, still with his face looking like a tomato.
And that's when I know he really is pregnant. The early signs of pregnancy usually show at six weeks, but that's for a human. For werewolf pregnancy, it's different. The signs usually show at two weeks the earliest, with the whole pregnancy only lasting six to seven months at most.
"B-But he used protection." He added, still flustered at our current topic.
I tried not to laugh at his embarrassed state.
"Well, they sometimes work, but majority of the time, they don't, even when they're specifically made for Weres. And since your mate happens to be an Alpha, it makes it even more useless to use a condom. Werewolf semen is just too strong for it." I stated, biting my lip as I forced myself not to show a smile.
Oh my gosh, he's pregnant. I can be his baby's adopted uncle and I can get to spoil the little bundle rotten.
He frowned before turning to meet my gaze, now with a questioning look.
"Are you saying I'm... I'm," He said as he struggles to say the word.
I nodded, no longer able to keep the smile from showing.
"Yes, you are pregnant," I confirmed.
I took another whiff of his scent and there I fully understood why there's another scent mixed with his. It was because he's pregnant. The baby's unique smell was finally developed.
It smelt of fresh honey.
"No wonder I can smell something different from your scent," I told him.
He looked at me in horror, making me smile at him softly. As expected, he's going to be shocked as hell.
"B-But I'm a guy!" He exclaimed.
I placed a hand on his shoulder, making him turn his gaze to me.
"In the werewolf world, some guys do get pregnant. It might be tricky for some, especially if they're human, but in your case, since technically you're not one hundred percent human, it's much easier for you to conceive." I explained which had him speechless.
He just sat there with his mouth ajar, clearly shocked about the new information he learned.
"I assume your mate didn't, or forgot, to tell you?" I said, which he nodded.
He still didn't utter anything, making me feel worried that he doesn't want the sweet innocent little bundle of sunshine growing inside him. I would feel extremely sad if he doesn't want the baby because a lot of people out there wishes to be able to conceive. It's a miracle to be able to grow a child inside of you, which is why some people envy those who can.
"Ash?" I called, snapping him out of his thoughts.
He blinked before he turned to look at me with fear swimming in his eyes.
"What's wrong?" I asked, placing a hand on his thigh for comfort.
"I hope I'm not giving you any wrong idea that I didn't want this child, because I do want this. I really do. I'm very happy, over the moon even, to know that there's life growing inside my belly. The result of Arthur and I's love." He paused. " I've always wished to have my own, but not now. Not in this type of situation. Not when I know my baby isn't safe." He said.
And I understood what he's trying to mean. He was scared of what might happen once Azrael finds out he's pregnant. And we both know the child he's carrying inside him will be in grave danger once Azrael caught the information for sure.
"I don't want anything to happen to my baby, Winter. That's why I'm afraid." He spoke in a whisper as he placed a hand on his tummy.
I squeezed his thigh, reassuring him that nothing will happen to the both of them. Now that I know he's carrying a child, it just gives me more reason to get him out of here as soon as possible.
I promised I'll get us out of here, and so I will keep that promise.
"Don't worry, we'll get out of this place," I told him with determination lacing my voice.
He gave me a small smile before placing a hand on top of mine. "We will get out of here." He stated positively.
And that's all I need.
It's almost midnight, meaning the time for us to put our plan into action is near. I pray to the Gods for them to keep us safe. Make this task easier for both of us so I can get Ash and his unborn child to safety.
I turned to look over my shoulder and saw Ash sitting on my bed, looking nervous. He once again had his hands on his tummy, as if telling his unborn child everything will be okay. And I'm sure, by the looks of it, he's also telling himself the same thing. That everything will be fine, and that, this mission will be successful.
I sighed, looking down at the phone in my hands.
11:30 p.m.
Just 15 minutes before we make our move.
I went to go sit next to Ash and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"Ready?" I asked as I looked into his eyes full of fear and nervousness. But nonetheless, he still nodded his head.
"As ready as I can ever be." He commented, which made me squeeze his shoulder in assurance.
"We'll be fine. I'll make sure of that." I told him.
He smiled. "I know."
And with that, we both waited for the time to finally come.
When the last fifteen minutes had finally passed, we prepared ourselves.
I glanced at the phone in my hand and counted down from ten before the monitor goes black. I quickly unlocked my ankle from the chains and went towards the door. I placed my left ear onto the cold wooden door to listen if there are any movements outside. Once I'm sure it's clear, I inserted the key into the double keyed doorknob. When it clicked, I slowly pulled it open. But before we both stepped out, I made sure to check no one was really around. When I was positive that the coast is clear, Ash and I made our way towards the stairs. As expected, it was also clear of any guards. I glanced at the phone screen once again, seeing how much time I have before the cameras became operational. I have 2 minutes before the cameras in the hallway goes online.
"Follow me," I told Ash who was behind me. He quickly nodded and followed close.
We walked down the stairs in silence. Once we're at the bottom, I checked the surrounding from any guards. When it was clear, Ash and I silently ran the hallway heading to the maintenance room.
"Slow down," I whispered after we arrived at the corner where I expected two guys to still be standing on guard, just by the front door entrance.
I turned to Ash and placed a finger on my lips, telling him to keep quiet. I looked down into the phone and pressed a button for the lights further down the opposite hallway for our little diversion. When it turned off, it instantly catches the guards' attention.
"What the hell was that?" The first guy asked, which made the other guard shrug.
"Should we go check it?" The second guy asked, making the first guy roll his eyes.
"What do you think, you idiot?" He said before smacking the other guy in the head.
"That's why I asked, genius." The second guy retaliated.
Ash and I looked at each other. Seemingly thinking the same thing.
Looks like they're both idiots.
"Let's just go check before we get ourselves in trouble." The first guy said before grabbing the other guy and went to go check why the lights went off.
"Don't you think it's a bit suspicious why it just went off? "The second guy asked, halting both Ash and I in an instant.
Shit, what if they're suspecting that we're escaping? That just means our mission is in jeopardy.
"What do you mean?" The first guy questioned.
"What if there's a ghost in here? Just look at this place, it's old and beat up." The other guy stated, which probably earned him another smack in the head from the loud slapping noise.
With that, Ash and I sighed in relief. I thought they think something else was wrong, when in fact, they're just being their usual self.
When I was sure that the two guys no longer stand in front of the entrance door, I turned to Ash to see him eyeing the front door.
I shook my head. "We can't go that route Ash," I told him in a whisper. "We both know it's even more risky if we did use the front entrance. We have to stick to the plan if we both want to get out of here unscathed."
And with that, he nodded. We turned to the two guys again who were still talking and bickering.
"You're such an idiot." The guy stated. "For a person who is a werewolf, you're afraid of a f*cking ghost?"
"What? We're all afraid of something." He reasoned out.
Seeing as both of them are distracted, I used it so we can go towards the maintenance room. Once we're out of sight again, I looked at the phone in my hand and saw that the cameras in the hallways on the second floor as well as those at the front entrance are now operational once more.
Stopping at a corner, I pressed another button, causing the cameras in that area to be disabled for 3 minutes, giving us enough time to head towards our destination, the maintenance room.
When I was once again sure that the operators are in the dark from the view of the said hallway, Ash and I made our move. Just further down the hall will be the said room and we'll be able to escape through the sewers.
We both stopped in front of a door with a sign posted on top in silver lettering saying 'Maintenance'. Turning the doorknob, I went in first with Ash trailing close behind me.
I checked the phone again and saw the remaining time before all the cameras in this area goes back live.
"Come on, Ash. We only have a minute and a half before the cameras go back to normal." I said as I opened a little manhole big enough for us to squeeze in.
After I have the cover removed, I ushered Ash to go in first and I followed soon after.
Once I placed the cover back on, I looked around the small space of the sewer. We could bare stand up, but it's more than enough for us. I can't really complain if it's the only way. It was smelly and dirty all over but we both have to suck it up if we wanted to get out of here.
"This way," I told Ash.
And with that, we ducked our way into the sewers as we followed the retreating water as it heads to the river.
I know it's very bad for them to just trash their stuff to the river. But since most of them are hunters and rouges, I guess it's not really surprising.
"Are you okay, Ash?" I asked after seeing him make a face.
He nodded. "I'm fine. It's just that, the smell makes my head hurt." He said making me fetch something inside the backpack he was carrying.
"Here," I said as I hand him a small cloth he can use to cover his nose.
He smiled at me gratefully. "Thank you." He said. "And I'm sorry if I'm being a pain at this type of situation." He apologized, making me shake my head at him.
"You're not being a pain, Ash. And besides, I don't want your baby to get whatever germs this place has, so, that little cloth is the least I can do." I told him, in which he smiled again.
"Thanks."
I smiled back. "You're welcome."
With that, we continued to follow the sewers as it heads towards the river. And not long after, we finally heard the sound of the water as it travels down to who knows where, which also means, we're now closer to freedom.
"I can hear the river from here," Ash commented, making me nod my head.
"Me too."
As we walked closer and closer to the edge of the sewers, the sound of the river water has also intensified.
"Don't step out into the open just yet. There's a ton of cameras still scattered around here." I warned Ash, which he nodded understandingly.
"Okay." He said as he sighed deeply. Thankful that he's now able to breathe some fresh air instead of the sewer's intense foul smell.
I turned the phone's screen on and examined the surrounding using the cameras these guys placed around.
"Just give me a second and I'll disable these cameras and we'll be on our way once again," I said as I tapped a couple of buttons on the phone screen. "And three, two one..." I counted down.
With that, the screen showed a couple of cameras that will have us in view are now down, just displaying static.
"Let me go check first before I tell you to step out," I instructed Ash who nodded.
I stepped out into the open and examined around. I ushered Jadeite to resurface a little so we can better check the surroundings with our heightened senses.
>I don't hear anything from close proximity, Winter. You can tell Ash to come out now.< My wolf said, which I quickly complied.
I turned to Ash and motioned him to come out. It was dark, with only the huge building's lights where we used to be locked up in giving us a little illumination.
"Careful," I told him in a whisper.
Once he's also in the open, he looked around still looking wary.
"Let's go wash in the river so we can mask our scents," I instructed and Ash immediately followed. "But be mindful, there's a lot of slippery rocks around," I warned.
He dropped the backpack at the edge of the riverbank before he went in and dunk himself into the water. Once he's done, I went towards him and took a whiff.
I smiled. "Yup, your scent is faint now," I said in satisfaction.
He smiled back before he sniffed himself. "I couldn't really tell. I don't have a high sense of smell like you."
I chuckled. "Not yet at least."
I'm still wondering why he doesn't have a wolf though, if his father's one of us. But I guess we'll get to find out soon enough. For now, I have to focus on getting us out as far away from this place as possible.
And with that, I also quickly dunked myself into the water after I shifted into my wolf form. It's been a while since I got to let Jadeite take over. And now that I'm able to, he's very pleased.
>It feels good to be out.< He commented as we dunked into the water. Making sure our scent is well masked.
>"I'm sorry if I had to keep you from shifting all this time, Jade,"< I said apologetically.
He shook his head. >"It's okay. I know it was for the better."<
"Wow." I heard Ash mutter, making me turn to him, in which Ash jump.
"Even in the dark, your wolf looks gorgeous, Winter." He complimented, which has Jade huff in glee.
Seeing as I'm not able to reply back, I only bowed my head as our way of saying 'thank you'.
>OMG! His highness thinks we're gorgeous.< Jade exclaimed, making me giggle a little.
>What's with the 'His Highness' crap?< I asked him, which made him raise his brows at me mentally.
>Well, he's the son of the Moon Goddess, so it's only fitting for us to call him that.< He reasoned out, which does make sense.
>True,< I commented.
I lowered myself to the ground so Ash will be able to hop on our back.
And once he was able to pick up why I was on the ground, Ash immediately climbed with the bag settled securely on his back. Standing back up, I took a whiff of the air one last time just to make sure no one's around.
As I was about to make a move on sprinting out of this place, a loud roar echoed all throughout the area. And without even guessing who it belonged to, Ash and I already know who it was.
"Oh no." Ash gasped out as he tightens his hold on to my fur. "He found out we're gone."
I turned to look behind me and huffed, which was meant to tell Ash to hold on even tighter. Not wasting another second, I sprinted into the woods, far from our captor.
Dodging tree from tree, I continued to race through the woods while still being mindful of my surroundings. I'm sure right after Azrael found out we're gone, he had all his mindless minions to scurry around to go look for us. And I bet, right the second they caught just the tiniest whiff of either of our scent, they'll be on our tails in an instant. But let's just hope that the river took most of it. But I can't be too sure yet because Ash has a really strong scent, especially now that he's pregnant, it's going to get even stronger.
"I know you're going as fast as you can, but I say go faster. I have a feeling they'll catch up quick." Ash said as he clung to my fur tightly.
And I also had that feeling as well, which caused me to push myself to go even faster than I already was, in fear of us getting caught.
Suddenly, out of nowhere, a lone wolf emerged and collided onto my side, sending me tumbling with Ash.
I quickly went to stand up and shake myself from the dirt. I turned to go check if Ash was okay and saw he was on his side, with both his arms on his belly, serving as a protection.
I hope he's not hurt from that fall.
I was snapped out of my worry for Ash when the dark brown rouge wolf snarled at me. Its eyes were red and its mouth was pooling with saliva, seemingly hungry just from the sight it was looking at, which was us.
I snarled back after the rogue went to go charge at Ash who was vulnerable. Without even a second thought, I lounge myself towards the enemy, sending both of us crashing back to the ground. I went to quickly stand in front of Ash, blocking him from view.
When the rogue lounged at us again, I snarled and fought back. I'm very inexperienced when it comes to fighting both in my human and wolf form, that's why the rouge took it as an advantage and got some really good hits towards me. But I put all my trust on to Jade that we'll manage to fight this little f*cker off and continue to flee.
But when the dark brown rouge bit its mouth into my scruff, I knew I was seriously screwed. The enemy threw my thrashing body hard towards a tree trunk, making me cry in absolute pain from the impact.
I tried to stand back up, but my side was hurting so bad, causing me to fall back down onto my stomach. And when the rogue saw my inability to stand, it quickly turned its attention to Ash who quickly tried to scurry away in fright from the predator drooling in front of him.
And in just a blink of an eye, the rouge charges towards Ash and bit on his right leg, making him scream in anguish.
I whimpered helplessly as I forced myself to stand back up on all fours. The rouge was now dragging Ash back to the huge mansion using its teeth still biting on Ash's leg.
When I made a move on fighting the rouge, Ash called my name, bringing my attention back to him.
"Go!" He screamed as the rogue continued to drag him forcefully. "Save yourself, Winter. Please."
I shook my head and ran back to fight off the f*cking rouge who managed to hurt my friend whom I pledge to protect.
"Winter, please. If they catch you and take you back, they'll kill you. Please go. Save yourself and run." Ash cried as he resumed to thrash away from the rouge's mouth.
I'm not running away. Not ever.
"Please Winter." He pleaded again as tears continued to stream down his scratched up face as it fell to the damp forest ground.
I'm not gonna leave you behind. I tried to tell him even in my wolf form.
"Find Arthur for me." He whispered as he slowly lost consciousness, probably from the pain.
I managed to get Ash's leg loose from the rouge's mouth after I tackled the f*cker and bit on its leg and thrashed around, crushing the bone in the process. The rouge wolf howled in pain and I was pleased with Jade and myself that we managed to injure it.
But when I heard thundering paws coming towards us, I quickly panicked. I turned to pick up Ash but he shook his head.
"I'm just gonna slow you down, Winter." He said before pushing my muzzle away, telling me to go. "Please, run. I will never forgive myself if they get you killed. Please. Go!" He cried with weak eyes, unconsciousness slowly consuming him.
But I promised I'll protect you. Even with my life. I thought as I whimpered helplessly while I caressed Ash dirt-covered cheek with my nose.
With his eyes slowly losing focus, Ash smiled at me while placing a hand on the side of my face. "You did. You kept that promise." He said, surprising me. Did he hear me?
"And now you have to promise me one thing again." He paused as a tear fell from his left eye. "You will run as fast as you possibly can and save yourself. Don't ever look back."
As the thundering paws of our captor and his minions quickly became closer and closer, I was also quickly losing hope.
"Go, Winter." He screamed. "Please."
Both my wolf and I were crying as we tried to tell Ash we were incredibly sorry for leaving him behind.
"I promise, I'll be okay." He said with a small smile before I turned tail and ran.
I bolted through the woods as I drove myself to go faster and faster. To run away and never look back, just as Ash said. And that's what I did.
I ran with guilt forever hunting me until my very last breath.
I'm very sorry Ash.
I failed you.
Arthur's POV
Finally, after that long hours of drive, we arrived at Eastern Forest Pack. The Alpha, Linux, welcomed us and gave us rooms for accommodation. But obviously, we weren't here for anything else other than rescuing my beloved mate. And I doubt I'll be using the room anyways. I'll be on my feet looking for Ash the whole duration of my stay here. But it was still very much appreciated that they gave us a place to stay.
"Alpha," Chandler called, earning him my attention.
"What's up?" I asked as I prepared myself for a scout. I was planning on joining the others as they continued to spy on the mansion.
Chandler saw what I was doing and frowned in confusion.
"Before anything else, I just wanna ask what are you doing all suited and armed up?" He asked.
I looked up at him and gave him a weird look. "I was planning on joining Connor spy on the mansion," I said.
He nodded. "Well, about that." He paused, making me sat up on the bench I was seated.
"The group on scout is coming back early." He said. I gave him a nod, telling him to continue. "They said their position was compromised after a commotion happened at the mansion. They figured to just leave just in case they get caught. Also, they confirmed that it's where they're hiding your mate." He explained making me frown.
Let's just hope it's not about Ash. Goddess knows I will rip whoever dares to even lay a finger on him, much more even hurt him.
"Do you have any idea when they'll arrive?" I asked.
He looked down on his watch before meeting my gaze once more.
"I say maybe in more or less twenty minutes, Alpha." He said, in which I nodded.
Let's also hope they have some important information for me when they get back. I've been aching to hear something, anything, regarding to my mate's whereabouts. I just want to know if he's okay and unhurt.
Fifteen minutes later, I heard people bustling outside at the backyard, firing up my curiosity. I walked out to see what was happening and saw guys from the scout resting their tired selves on the ground. After spotting Connor and a few of our men, I walked towards him.
They we're panting like crazy, like they just ran a whole marathon, without even as much as water to keep them hydrated.
"What happened?" I asked Connor, the instant I knelt in front of him and placed a hand on his shoulder.
"No one was hurt, Alpha. We just decided to flee from out position after we heard a loud roar, which we guessed came from Jordan. And after that, the whole mansion was in chaos." He said as he continued to pant while sweating profusely. "We don't really know what was going on, but by the looks of how everyone was in a hustle, it must have been serious." He added. And with that, I patted his shoulder as I stood up.
"I'm glad none of you got hurt," I said as I eyed my comrades. "For now, you guys relax. We'll have a meeting later when you are all rested up." I told him in which he nodded and plopped down into the grassy ground, still catching his breath.
I went to go meet up with Linux so we can arrange a meeting later on.
"Linux," I called, immediately catching his attention. "I need to talk to you. "
He nodded. "Let's go to my office so we can better talk in private." He offered which I was no near declining.
After he closed the door to his private quarters, he offered me to sit down on the chair in front of his desk.
"What is it you want to talk about?" He asked immediately after seeing the constant frown on my face.
"My third in command told me the mansion is where my mate was kept captive," I told him, in which he raised a brow.
"Really?" He asked, making me nod. "I haven't seen my Beta for him to tell me the news just yet." He added. "Now what's your plan?"
I sighed, feeling the stress to weigh even more on my shoulders.
"Where your guys able to scout the surrounding area of the mansion?" I asked, making him nod his head.
He stood up from his chair and asked me to follow him towards a nearby table where a bunch of papers are scattered around messily.
"I did conduct a scout." He stated. "We found out how big the area was. And since the mansion is basically surrounded by trees, that kind of gives us the advantage. This area right here, I do think is the best place to attack." He said, pointing at the north side of the mansion. "The treeline is much closer to the mansion, making it much easier if we plan to get inside. The only problem we have are the surveillance cameras scattered around in the trees. But thankfully, it doesn't go further towards the woods, maybe a few more meters away from the house, giving us some space to spy on them. Some of the things we have to be vigilant about, other than not to be seen in the cameras' wide range of view as well as the guards, are the traps. My men saw a couple of rouges and hunters setting up traps all throughout close to the treeline. Most of them are bear traps and leg-hold traps, which are dangerous for when we're in our wolf form."
I nodded along as he continued to explain.
"So, what's your plan?" He asked.
I examined the map on the table as I pondered on everything Linux explained.
"The north side seems like a good idea. But we need to use a diversion so we can send people inside the mansion." I stated thoughtfully. "We'll attack on the west and south, giving the guys on the north side the leverage to enter the building. We'll keep the rouges and hunters occupied as we let those who are inside complete the mission." I said.
Linux frowned. "You're not going to join those in the north side to rescue your mate?" He asked curiously.
I shook my head.
"It'll cause suspicion when they see that I'm not on the battlefield. They will immediately think that we're using a diversion on them." I admitted, making him nod his head.
"Yeah, that does sound like a good idea."
Before I could respond, a knock on the door disturbed us.
"Sorry Alpha, but you both need to see this." Linux's Beta said after he opened the door.
Linux and I looked at each other in confusion as we both exited the room and followed the Beta towards the yard. There we saw a commotion as pack members crowded around a huge werewolf warrior who I assume is one of Linux's.
The warrior was carrying an unconscious petite guy full of scratches and wounds in his arms. Once the buff guy met his Alpha's gaze, he immediately gave him a curt bow, as well as to me.
"Alpha, I saw this little guy passed out near our borders. I examined him and he doesn't look and smell of rogue, so I figured to bring him here." The guy said, making his Alpha nod understandingly.
"Alright, take him to the infirmary and let the doctors attend to him. But I want you to watch him and make sure to alert us when he wakes up." Linux commanded, in which his warrior complied and quickly walked towards the packhouse, heading to the infirmary.
Once the warrior was out of sight, the Beta approached Linux with a small backpack in his hands.
"This was from that unconscious guy." He said. "We search it and found no weapon of any sort. Just a bunch of clothes and some phones." He added as he opened the bag, showing us what's inside.
As my gaze landed on the phone, I instantly frowned.
"Hold on," I said, gaining both their attention.
"What is it?" Linux asked.
I pointed at the phones in his hands. "Can I see?"
He looked down at them before handing it to me. "Sure."
I took the smaller one and inspected it for a moment. The phone looked oddly similar to my mates. I moved it closer to my nose, getting a quick whiff. My eyes widen after the scent registered in my mind. It was indeed my mate's.
"What's wrong?" Linux shortly asked after seeing my reaction.
"This phone was my mate's," I told him.
I inspected it once again to see if it was damaged, but saw it was perfectly fine. So might have just run out of battery that's why it only sent us his last known location before.
