Cloud - Chapter 42: Chapter 42

Be forever with me, Luffy.
I was in the bedroom, sitting on the bed. I was replaying in my head the words that Cloud had told me a few minutes ago. He wanted me to be forever with him? That idea was so good to me but I could not forget about Frederick. I had responsibilities and as much as I wanted the same thing as Cloud, I couldn't do this. It was just impossible for me to remain forever with him.
A door opened and Cloud came out of the bathroom. His eyes immediately met with me and I decided to tell him right away about what I had decided to do concerning Frederick.
"I can't do this, Cloud," I told him, "I need to do what I can to save Frederick so tomorrow when Calius will come, I will have to go with him. I'm sorry but I can't risk his life."
He sighed and nodded, "Don't be sorry. I'm the one who should apologize. It was dumb of me to even consider another option."
I lowered my gaze and the silence conquered the room. There wasn't any other way to save Frederick, was it? Cloud walked to me and placed a supportive hand on my shoulder. That small gesture made me feel so warm inside but I did not look up at him. I just stared at the floor, my mind empty.
When were things going to be alright for me? When would everyone be safe? When was I going to be happy? Everything was getting out of control and there was no way for me to change the situation. I was dirty, I was tired, my clothes were torn and I only wanted to feel good. So I stood up on my feet and turned to Cloud. He watched me with a questioning look as I placed my hands on his chest.
"I want to take a shower," I told him.
"Alright, you can-"
"With you," I cut him off and I looked into his eyes, "I want to take a shower with you."
His eyes widened at my words but I truly meant what I said. I grabbed his cheeks and leaned forward, pressing my lips against his. The kiss was slow at first but then, when Cloud finally snapped out of his shocked state, it instantly became more wild.

With an ounce of hesitation, I slowly took off my shirt in front of Cloud whose gaze was full of lust. Then, I unbuttoned my jeans, pulling them down.
I thought that Cloud was just going to stare at me without doing anything but he quickly proved me wrong when he started to remove his clothes too. I remained there, only in my boxers, watching him getting naked. My eyes scanned his entire body and I cursed quietly under my breath when he was completely naked at last.
I blushed and quickly looked away in embarrassment. He chuckled and stepped forward. He grabbed the hem of my boxers before pulling them down as slowly as possible. I shivered and looked down at him to see him staring at my private parts. I slapped him back to reality and he laughed before pushing me inside the shower case. The door was closed and the water was let free. We stood there under the falling water, simply staring at each other.
I decided to make the first move and I touched his chest, placing my hand over his heart to feel his heartbeat. I closed my eyes, feeling the water running down my body, and I brought my lips to his shoulder, placing soft kisses on his skin. He did not move immediately but then he grabbed the soap and started passing it on my body.
His hands traveled everywhere. He touched my shoulders, my arms, my chest and my legs but sadly, he did not place his hands where I wanted them to be. Desperate, I made him let go of the soap and it fell to our feet. The steam of the hot water was engulfing us so I shut the water and tried to kiss him but he pushed me against the wall of the shower case.

"Are you crazy? You can't do this!" Nicolas exclaimed at me the next morning. "You can't just give yourself to the enemy like this!"
"This is our only option, Nicolas," I told him with a sigh, "They are going to kill Frederick if I don't cooperate. There is no way out of this."
"But what about Cedric? I thought that they needed to kill him before coming for you," he said and I sighed once again.
"I don't know about him and he's the least of my priorities to be honest," I informed him, even though I was kind of curious to know the role of Cedric in all of this. In the vision that I had seen, he was attacking Alexandro and he was with Calum so if Calum was with the Vins, it would make sense to say that Cedric was with them too.
"So you're just going to sacrifice yourself," Rain concluded, capturing my attention.
"Well, you want Frederick back, right? I'm going to give him back to you," I told him and he huffed. He glanced in the direction of Cloud who was sitting on the couch, a half-emptied glass of wine in hand.
"You're okay with that?" Rain asked his younger brother.
"He has already made up his mind. I can't force him to stay," Cloud simply replied but Nicolas did not agree with what he just said.
"But guys, we can't do this," he exclaimed once again. "We're supposed to protect Luffy. I'm sure that if Frederick was there, he would have agreed with me."
"But he's not here," I reminded him. "The reason why he got captured is because of me so it's only natural that I do everything in my power to save him."
"And you really think that once they get their hands on you, the Vins are going to just let him go?" he asked me and I just had enough.
"I'm not sure of anything but that's my only chance to get him back," I replied and as he opened his mouth to protest, I stopped him, "Enough Nicolas! That's my cousin we're talking about. I don't care about what happens to me as long as he is safe so please, as my guardian, as my friend, accept my decision."
He remained quiet and averted my eyes. I expected him to say something, anything would have been fine but no, he walked away without another word. That hurt me but I did not stop him from going. I understood his point but I would have been happy if he just understood mine.
I looked at the clock on the wall and saw that it was nearly noon. When Cloud and I woke up this morning, we remained a few hours in bed together before going to tell the others about what had happened the night before. Nicolas tried to find a solution but nothing came to him.
It was too late now.
Calius should be there soon.
"I should probably go wait at the front door," I let my voice be heard. I looked at the two brothers who were suspiciously quiet. "There's not much left to do anyway."
With that said, I left the living room. I kept my head down as I walked to the front door. I opened it and the wind blew in my direction. I stepped outside and immediately felt cold. I took in a deep breath, closing my eyes. I was starting to feel sick. When I opened my eyes back, my heart skipped a beat when I saw, in the distance, a car approaching.
"This is it," I whispered to myself.
"Were you really going to go without telling me goodbye?" Cloud asked me, suddenly appearing behind me and I turned around to face him.
"I'm not good with goodbyes," I told him honestly and I let out a sigh. "I just want things to be over quickly."
He shook his head, "Maybe Nicolas was right. There has to be another way."
"Even if there was another solution, it's too late now," I told him, showing him the car which was coming closer. "I don't know what will happen once I will be with them but I will make sure that Vance free Frederick. Please look after him for me when I will be gone and don't do anything stupid."
The car parked in front of the house and Calius came out of it. He was dressed in the same clothes as last night.
"Sir Cloud, Luffy, pleasure to see both of you on this lovely day," Calius said, clearing his throat, and he asked me, "Are you ready to go?"
"Yes," I replied to him and I advanced towards him but Cloud grabbed my arm, stopping me. I looked back at him with a questioning look, "Cloud, you need to let me go."
"I changed my mind, I can't accept this," he said and I stared at him. I faced him once again and grabbed his cheeks, pecking him on the lips.
"I need to tell you something important," I told him, my voice breaking near the end and he shook his head.
"No," he stopped me before I could even say something and I frowned, "Don't say it. I don't want to hear it, not now."
I did not want to break but hearing him say this just made me want to cry.
"Excuse me but we really need to go. My father doesn't like to wait," the vampire said and I forced myself to walk away from Cloud. Calius mentioned for me to get in the car and I nodded. As I got inside though, I heard him say something to Cloud, "I expect you not to follow us. Things will be really bad for all of you if that was to happen."
