                    "I can't believe we're doing this."
"One way or another, she's gonna find a way to bring it up, and I'd rather you be there to suffer through it with me."
I pouted. "But why...?" She raised an eyebrow, and all I could do was sigh. "Okay, fine. Let's get this over with."
Taking my hand, Leah led me down the wooden stairs, both of us reluctant in our steps. It wasn't like you did this every day; have a conversation with your girlfriend's sister about how she walked in on us the night before, right after we had sex.
This was a bad idea.
We turned the corner from the living room and entered the kitchen space, only to see a very hungover blonde by the island. Her head hung down as it was clutched in her hands, a bottle of painkillers sitting on the counter in front.
We paused our steps for a moment, before casually moving again in the direction of the bowl and cereal cabinets. Lena finally lifted her head when Leah cleared her throat in a non-subtle manner.
"Oh. Morning, you two," the blonde said tiredly.
"Morning..." Leah trailed off as she glanced at her sister, confused. The woman's reaction was too calm, given what she witnessed last night...
"So... how've you been?" I said conversationally, and a little too awkwardly.
She groaned in pain. "The best I can, given that my head feels like it's about to explode-" She lifted her head then to look at us, "-and the memory of my little sister and her girlfriend naked in her room won't go away."
Yup, there it was.
I looked to my girlfriend with wide, panicked eyes, waiting for her move. The hazel-eyed girl leaned against the counter and faced her sister, cheeks and ears turning a bright red as she kept her mouth shut.
I stood by the sink with a bowl and spoon in hand, almost frozen like a statue as to not draw attention to myself. This was the weirdest and most tense situation I've ever been in, and all I could think was if me throwing myself out of the window was a good idea right now. It might be. Okay, I'm gonna do it-
"Why didn't you just lock the door, you two?" Lena whined, covering her eyes with her palms like she couldn't stand the mere sight of us.
"We... thought we had the house to ourselves?" my girlfriend sheepishly mumbled as she played with her fingers, making it sound more like a question than a statement.
"Yup," was my one-worded response of support.
Lena groaned even louder, now sounding more annoyed at herself than anything else. "Why didn't I stay at Jess'? Now I've seen my baby sister and her girlfriend- Urghhh!" She rubbed her hands up and down her face as if trying to rub the memory from existence.
Leah made a move to grab the cereal and milk, attempting to distract herself from her horrified sister. I slowly made my way to the island, cautiously setting the bowl down two seats away from the blonde. My girlfriend joined me between her sister and I, settling down on the stool and letting the awkward silence to continue as we made our breakfast.
My face felt so hot at this moment, and I couldn't stop my leg from bouncing. Why didn't we lock the damn door? Oh right, I was too busy sucking with Leah's face to bother.
All that could be heard was the clinking of me and Leah's spoons against the bowls as we waited to see who would say something first. Turns out, it was my girlfriend, as she let go of her spoon with a clink. "Why did you come into my room anyway?"
Her sister let out a heavy sigh as she lifted the pill bottle in front of her for us to see. "I needed this. Mom moved it somewhere else, and I couldn't find it."
We lapsed back into silence. I felt like I had to say something, so my mouth moved without thought. "I'm sorry you had to walk in and see that, Lena..." I muttered, dipping my head to hide my flushed face.
"It's fine, Alyssa. You're teenagers and horny for sex. I get it." Leah and I glanced at each other sheepishly. "But, Leah, you know that I won't be letting this go anytime soon, right? This is good ammo you just gave me."
It was Leah's turn to look horrified. She whipped her head around to face her sister. "You wouldn't."
"Oh yes, I would," the older of the two now grinned mischievously at us. "Wait until I tell Landon what went down yesterday..."
"You can't!" Leah screeched as she suddenly went to lunge for the girl next to her. Her sister started laughing hysterically as she dodged her attempts at getting her to shut up.
I sat to the side, amusedly watching the show as the two sisters fought and bickered. I imagined this was how it would've been like if I had a sister closer to my age. But now that I thought about it, this was quite similar to what Gia and I had. I smiled at the thought of that.
"Lena! Come on! Please don't!"
"She's even wearing your clothes right now! This is just too good!"
_______________
School came too early. Too damn early.
The holidays were already over, and we all had to return back to the reality of boring classes and annoying Chemistry teachers. This was going to be fun.
I puffed out a shivering breath as I closed the door to Logan, hitching my bag up higher and stomping my way to the front door, alone. Ashton was supposed to hitch a ride with me, but apparently, his plans changed last minute, and it included Riley and his car, but not me. Honestly, I think Logan missed him quite a bit.
Entering the insulated school, I took off my mint beanie and unwrapped my scarf, starting to make my way to Leah's locker. However, on my way, I spotted Gia by her own locker, talking with Zach and this other guy I couldn't put a name to.
"Hey, you guys," I greeted, coming to a stop next to them. Taking a closer look at the mystery guy, he had wavy chocolate brown hair that went to his neck, a tie holding it together as it exposed his sharp jaw. His eyes were a warm brown as long lashes complimented them, and he had a lean physique that was not as big as Ashton's but enough to match Zach.
My analysis of him stopped when my eyes drifted up to notice him looking back at me. "Hi."
"Hello there... what's your name again?" I chuckled in embarrassment as I bit my lip.
"Charles. I'm a friend of Zach's," he mentioned with a smile.
"Oh, nice. Good to meet you. I've seen you around Ash and Zach before, but never got to say hi."
"Oh, hi, then. You're Alyssa Woods, right? The soccer captain?" he asked curiously.
"Yep, that's her," Gia stepped up and threw her arm over my shoulder. "The best player out there, and my bestie," my red-headed friend said proudly, squeezing me hard to her side.
I narrowed my eyes at my best friend. She was acting weird. Not the praises; that was normal, but the way she just cut in... it was almost like she wanted the attention drawn back to her.
Looking back at the boy, I tilted my head and darted my eyes between them. But finally, it clicked. "Ohhhh."
"Oh, what?" Gia asked.
"Hm? Nothing. Nothing at all," I suppressed the grin trying to surface. My brain started to spin up ideas as they continued their chattering. They would look cute together, just based off of appearance. Now, let's just see if the boy could handle her fiery personality... Wait, why the heck was I going so fast? They just met! But what if they were perfect for each other. Wait, no, Alyssa!
As I continued to ponder and sink into my thoughts, I was broken out of it when I felt a hand grab mines. It was given a squeeze before they let it go.
Leah now stood next to me, seemingly appearing out of nowhere. "Hey, Lys," she said softly, giving me a secretive smile as her hand drifted to rest on my lower back.
Since we took that step in our relationship, we had become even more touchy and affectionate than before, letting hands drift about and touch even when in the company of others. I was conflicted with how I felt about it, both loving and afraid of where this was going. In the end, I had decided to just go with it; I wouldn't dream of saying no to that.
She went to greet everyone else, but as her gaze landed on the outsider, her eyes widened. "Oh... hi Charles."
"Hey, Leah. How've you been," the boy said, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Good. I've been really good," my girlfriend quipped. I could sense the awkwardness in the air, but I didn't have a clue as to what was happening.
"I-I'll get going," he suddenly announced. "See you later, Zach. Nice meeting you guys." With that, he left, leaving Gia frowning as she looked on.
I turned to the dirty blonde on my left and canted my head to the side. "What was that?"
"Nothing. He's just someone I used to know," Leah shrugged as she vaguely explained, brushing it off.
"Seemed like something more than that, from what I just saw." My tone wasn't really accusatory, just curious.
"He was just someone I knew from the debate team, from when I was still in the club." Her left eyebrow twitched up, something I've come to know meant she was keeping something from me.
I raised a brow at her. I wasn't about to budge.
"We used to date. But we broke up, like, a month after," she finally let out.
My gaze darted to Gia, who had put on a stoic mask as she digested the information. I wasn't concerned at all, more so wondering what the red-head thought about this.
"Is he a good guy?" my best friend queried.
"Yeah, he's nice, I guess. We broke up last year because we didn't really feel anything. But it got awkward for some reason, so we just stopped speaking," Leah explained with a shrug.
"Hmm," was all she let out before she started to leave. "Okay. Well, I'll see you guys later." Zach waved goodbye too as he followed her away.
Now, it was just the two of us. I pursed my lips as I looked at my girlfriend. "How come I never knew about him?"
Leah gave me a look. "Lyssa, we've talked about this. You know my past relationships aren't that important to me. Why bring it up?"
"I don't know. I guess I just wanted to see how much of an improvement I am compared to your exes," I stated cockily, a lopsided grin curving my lips.
The dirty blonde pushed me playfully as she rolled her eyes. "Come on, let's get our stuff. And maybe, if we have time, we can make a trip to an empty classroom..."
My eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Let's hurry up then, class president."
_______________
"-so, can anyone give me examples of when an exothermic reaction occurs compared to an endothermic reaction-"
"Can this be over soon?" I quietly groaned as Ms Parry continued to explain the graphs written on the board.
"Babe, just five more minutes."
"I don't know if I can last that long."
I felt a hand on my thigh then, slowly stroking up and down as Leah continued to face forward. "We're almost done, Lys."
I didn't know if it was meant to be comforting or something else, but it sure was very effective.
A soft grunt left my throat as her hand ventured around and grazed my inner thigh. "Is this supposed to help?" I gritted out, feeling a little hot now.
"Shhh," was all she said as her hand continued to stroke my skin over my jeans.
It felt like an hour of torture, but now of a different kind. By the time the bell rang for lunch, I was seconds away from springing on her, right then and there.
Scrapping my chair back, I quickly packed my stuff and impatiently waited for Leah. She teased me by taking her sweet time, but the second her last book plopped into her bag, I had a hold on her wrist and lightly tugged her out of the classroom, in the direction of the closest secluded room I could find.
"Slow down, babe," Leah softly chuckled as she followed just behind me.
At that moment, I really didn't care if anyone saw me with her. She was just so irresistible and an extremely beautiful tease. "You know damn well I can't."
She laughed at that, but as we made our way through the crowded hallway, a voice called out over the noise. "Aly!"
I immediately recognised the voice that belonged to Ashton, groaning out loud as he and Riley approached us, both unaware.
"Where you guys going?" the ebony beauty asked.
"Nowhere now," I sulked as we stopped for them. There was no way we could go off to do what we were planning to, now that they were here and could probably guess our previous intentions.
"You guys came at the perfect time," my girlfriend sarcastically said, a little disappointed as well.
"So... cafeteria?"
"Let's just go," I sighed out. The other couple just looked confused as we turned and made our way to the direction of food instead, with them following a few steps behind.
I leaned over to my girlfriend and whispered huskily in her ear. "This isn't over. Later, babe," I said, a promise to my words.
I smirked as her body gave out an almost imperceptible shiver at that. "Looking forward to it," Leah breathed out, biting her lower lip seductively.
In this crowd of people, I didn't know how no one noticed our blatant flirting, but I was glad that none of them was observant enough to suspect anything.
We entered the ample space and started heading towards the line. But again, I heard a voice call above the other noise from behind.
"Al!"
Turning around, I expected to find one of my friends calling for me to wait up. But what I found this time was not as welcomed.
She wasn't meant to be here. In my school. Staring at me from a few steps away.
Everything else blurred from view, my focus only on the girl that stood a couple of meters away. And nothing but anger burned within me.
"What the fuck is Isabelle doing here."

"One way or another, she's gonna find a way to bring it up, and I'd rather you be there to suffer through it with me."
