As the programme ran, I observed the three men in my office.
Jamison was on his phone and I presumed he was co-ordinating with his team to get the woman here. Every now and then his gaze would check out the brothers, both of whom were pacing and looked ready to explode.
"How long does it take?" Angus snapped out, stopping to glare at me, his brother laying a hand on his arm before he too looked at me.
"I apologise, we are on edge, very quickly she has come to mean everything to us and we can't help but feel this is our fault" Hector says and I nod.
"Sit down, the scan should be quite quick but I haven't tried it since I gave her the watch a few years ago" as they settled into seats opposite I buzzed for coffee, recognising that I too felt some guilt. I should have been keeping a better eye on her, I should have known what Stewart was up to...
Jamison cleared his throat, taking the final chair he looked between all of us. "My team are bringing Strait up, I have directed them to Greystones" he looked at me and I nodded "They are also working through her phone and laptop, If My Emily can find a trail we may be able to track him that way"
He looked at the brothers "You are both on leave until this is over and settled, your father has instructed me to aid in any way I can and to keep him updated" I can see they are both primed to argue but stop.
"Thank you" Angus growls out, I can tell he is not happy but is glad that pressure is off.
A ping on my desk makes us all jump and I focus on the map on my screen Maisie's watch had a hit.
"We've got her, she's in town" I say.
"Where?" the brothers are on their feet ready to go.
"Down near the harbour" I reach for the phone and pause. I know I should call Lachlan and let him know but seeing the police may make him do something stupid and she may get caught in between.
"No Police, she's safer if we do this ourselves" Hector tells me from the door. Again I'm torn, but the risk to her is too great.
"Do you have men in town?" I ask Jamison and he nods.
"Just tell me where we are going and we can meet there" I give him a location where we can meet, a little away from where her watch is signalling.
"We can group and go from there" I say and he agrees. I stop briefly on the way out to update Beth knowing she will make sure everything in the office is taken care of while I am out.
