Cream Knows Best - Chapter 21: Chapter 21

Tails' P.O.V
Sonic and I decided to play video games tonight since we haven't been able to hang out recently. It's been really fun too! He's been a great big brother. I was wondering if he was ever going to talk about his confession with Shadow. But he never mentioned so I didn't try to bring it up. Although he wasn't acting quite acting like himself. Oh well, I'd ask him about it later.
"Hah! You won't beat me this time!" he teased. "Wanna bet?" I asked playfully. I clicked a few buttons and I ended beating him in the game we played. "Yes!" I cheered and then got up to do a victory dance. "Go ahead and eat it up little bro," he replied, his ego very much hurt. "Aw, don't feel too bad! I can't help being an expert in this game!" "C'mere you little rascal!"
We laughed and he was just happy to be with me. Right as we were about to calm down, we heard the door slam open. There stood Knuckles, trembling in his spot, and he looked so wasted. "Knucks! What's wrong?" Sonic panicked and went to go help him. "What happened to you? Have you had stuff to drink?" "Not really! Just a little!" Knuckles replied, his words clearly slurring. "Gosh... you need to lie down Knucks!" Sonic told him and took him to a bedroom that he had. "Just lie down okay?" he instructed. I went to his side to check up on him and he was trying to get back up again. "Tails we all trIed Our best, bUt it didn't gO aS planned!" he said. I knew what he meant and I felt so bad for him! I'm so sorry Knucks! I thought to myself.
"Try to sleep!" Sonic instructed him and continued to fight with him. I knew I had to talk with Cream about this! I had to get to Amy's. Quickly as my tails would let me, I flew to the door and headed out, leaving Sonic and Knuckles with each other.
Charmy's P.O.V
I was enjoying myself on the couch, watching cartoons, with Vector who seemed happy to chill with me. Surprisingly he was the one who wanted to hang with me! Maybe something happened while he was with Espio. I'd hoped everyone was okay. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen Espio since he left the house to confess. Everyone else was out there too, I wonder what had gone down that night. "Where's Espio? He hasn't been back for hours!" I asked Vector.
Even he seemed worried and looked around. "I'm not sure, I thought he came back earlier." he sighed. I knew Vector knew about the situation with Espio, but I had no idea if he rejected him or not. "Is everything okay Vector?" I asked him concerned. He gave a huge sigh and shrugged his shoulders. "I'm fine I guess. Just got some stuff going on." he replied. I didn't bother him further and continued to watch tv. Right when it was the end of it, we heard a crash by the front door. "W-What was that?" I whimpered. "I'm not sure. But I don't worry whatever it is, I won't let it hurt us." he reassured and got up to check on what it was. I carefully flew behind him and made my way towards the door.
Vector carefully walked towards the sound only to be shocked by whatever it is. "Silver? Espio? What the heck is wrong with you two!" he shouted. Once I knew they were our friends, I felt like I could get a closer look. "He's the one who KnOCkeD it over!" Silver snapped. "Shut up! I didn't do anything bozo!" Espio snapped back. I could hear them slur their words, the scent of alcohol stretched throughout the house. "You scared Charmy! I could've hurt you both! Why is Silver even here?" Vector snapped. "He said broken guys stick together!" Silver cried. Hearing those words I had guessed about what might've happened.
All three of them continued to fight about everything, but I knew I had to get out of there. Cream and Tails had to know about this. Good luck Vector. That's when I sneaked out the back and fly away to Amy's place where I knew Cream was staying.
Amy's P.O.V
I was worried about how Cream was. She had been so occupied about Shadow after he'd dropped her off. Shadow also seemed really upset about something but he never said anything before he left. I tried cheering her up with the help of Sally but nothing seemed to work. I ended up going into the kitchen to make us dinner. How could I help Cream if I had no idea what was going on? "Is everything alright Ames?" Sally asked me. She took me by surprise and I could feel my cheeks heat up.
"Yeah, I'm fine! Just... I'm just concerned about Cream. She seemed so scared for Shadow but she won't tell me what's going on." I explained to her. "Hey, don't stress too much! Maybe she's scared about how you might react? Let her come to you, that way she'll feel more comfortable about sharing information with you." Sally reassured me. She was always a smart and compassionate one!
"Thanks. It means a lot." I sighed. "Do you mind if I give you a hug?" I asked, a little embarrassed. "Amy you're my best friend! You can give me a hug whenever you want!" she replied. I threw myself in her arms. She seemed surprised but hugged me back. Sally was always so special to me. I wanted to tell her I love her. Except I didn't think she liked girls. That's why I was so scared to confess. It didn't matter though, as long as she was by my side, I was okay with how things were right now.
As we let go, I heard a knock on the door and made my way to the door where Cream was already opening it up. Right there were Tails and Charmy, they both looked like they were out of breath. "Charmy! Tails!" Cream cried and went to hug them. "Chew Cho!" Cheese cried out and they came into my house. "Is everything alright? What's going on?" I wasn't sure what had happened but now I was extremely worried. "Cream! Thank god you're still here!" Charmy gasped. "Why, what's going on?" she asked them.
"It's about Silver, Espio, and Knuckles! It went bad for them!" Tails said. "What? They were turned away too?" Cream asked, her tone was surprised. "I know! That's what we said! But why would they! We all knew everyone seemed to like each other!" Charmy cried. "Can someone explain what is going on?"
They took a small pause and settled onto the couch where I gave them each a mug of hot cocoa.
"Here, it'll help you guys relax!" I told them and helped them to settle down. Each of them took a sip once everything settled down. "So, what is going on?" Sally asked, her voice was soothing. "You see, before my mom passed away, she gave me this necklace. She told me that it had the power to help see other's emotions when you wore it. When she was my age, she used it to help anyone who was in love to get their special someone. That day everyone met up again, it started working for me. I could see who had fallen for who. I thought I'd help them with getting their special someone. Tails, Charmy, and Cheese also helped me out with getting them to admit it. We then thought we could get them their happy ending by getting them to confess. But apparently, it didn't work out." she explained, drinking more of her hot cocoa.
So that's why Shadow dropped you off here. He was going to get drunk... I realized. I watched as Sally get closer to her side, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"It'll be okay! I'm sure they feel happy enough to finally get it off their chest. I of all of us know what it's like to keep our emotions and feelings bottled. It's not a nice feeling. Even if they did get rejected in the end, you guys have to realize it did some good for them." Sally told her. "How do I know I didn't make things worse? Like I always do?" Cream asked, her eyes starting to get teary.
"You didn't make anything worse Cream. Maybe something is going on with the others, preventing them from saying yes. Just give them some time! Things will get better I promise you that!" Sally said, gently lifting up her chin and giving her a hug. "The same goes for the rest of you. Don't blame yourselves. Now how do you guys feel about chicken pot pie?" she asked them.
Almost instantly they began smiling and cheering. She ushered them to the table and she looked at me in the eyes. "See? It'll be okay." Her voice was soothing and she rubbed my back gently. "Thank you!" I sighed and relaxed in her arms. She hugged me tightly and suddenly began ruffling my fur with the tips of her fingers. It felt sooo good! "S-Sally! Stop!" I cried flustered by the way she was doing this.
"What? You seem to be enjoying this!" she smirked and continued. "It's nice! B-But-!" I replied, my face heating up.
"But what?" she asked. "You're making me flustered!" I cried again. "Aww! Is my little hedgy embarrassed?" she teased. "D-Don't push it." I grinned and looked away. Sally pulled me in closer, taking me by surprise, and petted my quills. I heard her chuckles and hug me tightly.
"A-Amy, there's something I want to tell you," she said nervously. "Yes?" Sally just stared at me and looked nervous to tell me about this. "You see... we've been best friends forever since we were little kids. I never thought we'd ever stay friends after everything back home with my kingdom. Yet we stayed best friends for the long run. I wish I could've come back sooner, but, I know you can guess that my life is hectic." she explained. "You being busy isn't gonna make me wanna drop you as my friend!" I reassured.
"Yeah but... that's not how I see you anymore." she murmured. I was a little confused but felt my face turn red. "Heh... this is a little embarrassing for me to admit but... I like you Amy... a lot!" she replied. "I know you probably don't feel the same way... however... you'll always have a special place in my heart!" she told me softly. The way her hands stroked my quills made me fill full. I loved the way she cared for me. Maybe I did like Sally after all. "Is everything good?" she asked me.
Without any input, I leaned in and pecked her on the lips, pulling her in close. I felt her barely jump back in surprise. But then I felt her kiss back and we held onto each other, not letting go. We broke the kiss and gazed into each other's eyes. She smiled and pushed my quills back. Before we could have another kiss, we heard a clink on the floor to the side.
There stood Cream, Cheese, Tails, and Charmy staring at us, their jaws dropped in surprise, and the utensils they brought were on the floor. "G-Guys! What are you doing?" For a minute they didn't say anything and just continued to stare at us. "EEEEEEEKKKKKK!" Cream cheered in the silence, causing some glasses nearby to crack. "AMY HAS A GIRLFRIEND!" she squealed and ran up to hug us both. "Chew Chew!" Cheese cheered and joined the small hug. "Didn't see that one coming. But I'm not judging! I like the ship!' Tails said happily. "Me either, but I love the ship as well! We're all happy for you!" Charmy reassured us.
I was more than happy about the immediate support. I never told anyone I was Bi! So this meant the world to me. "Thank you Cream... thank you all." I sighed and hugged everyone who came to my side. "Now can you guys kiss again? Pleaseeee!" Cream begged. I giggled and looked over to Sally who looked more than happy to do this. "Whatever the kid wants!" she said and pulled me in for another kiss. I closed my eyes and enjoyed the moment with her. As we kissed, I could hear the others give small awes and giggles. I was just happy that I finally got my wish!
