Cream's P.O.V
I yawned and woke up around 8:00, long after I had woken up towards two in the morning to give Mr. Vector that letter. Which reminded me, had he seen it? Did he wake up already, or was he still sleeping? I got up and walked out of my room to check out the living room. When I checked the couch, he was no longer there. I was so happy! That meant my plan worked! Or least, I think it did. I mean why else would he leave the house?
Oh well! I looked over and saw that there was some breakfast place add on the kitchen table. I looked at it and decided that we should call in breakfast since I know everyone here is sleepy and lazy in the morning. So after dialing the number and getting the man to get the order right after he got it wrong six times! I sat down on the couch to read a book.
That's when I heard a yawn from behind me. "Oh, hey Cream. How long have you been up?" Mr. Shadow asked, rubbing his eyes. "For a while now! Just been reading this really good book you had laying around!" I said, showing him what I was reading. He gently took it from me and looked at the cover. "Hm, Guns Illustrated?" he questioned, lifting an eye brow. "Yeah! I wanna be just as cool as you! Plus I like looking at the pictures!" I smiled, then took the book back from him to keep reading. "It's a good book. I didn't learn everything from that book, but it wasn't completely useless." he replied, then sat down next to me.
"Where's Vector? I thought he was spending the night?" Mr. Shadow asked. "Oh, he left!" I replied happily. "Really? How come?" "He went to go see Mr. Espio!"
Mr. Shadow continued to be somewhat concerned but didn't say too much about it. "I mean... as long as he can handle it. I know Espio's crash really did something to him yesterday. I know I would feel some sort of way if something like that happened to Sonic..." he sighed. A gray cloud formed over his head, which made me a little sad.
"Do you still love him Mr. Shadow?" I asked. He sat there for a while and then nodded his head. "Y-Yes... I do... But I'll have to move on soon. I can't sulk over someone who doesn't love me forever. I'll get over him eventually. When you grow up, you'll understand it..." he sighed, a little tear falling down his face. "It'll be okay Mr. Shadow. Maybe Mr. Sonic will come around!" I replied. He shook his head and placed me on one of his legs. "That's not how it works Cream. When someone doesn't love you, they can't ever love you. Throughout that time you just gotta move forward. If you continue to pursue them, you'll only drive them further away." he explained.
He was still very sad. I scootched up closer to and squeezed him. "Don't be so sad, it'll get better. That's what you told me after my momma left for heaven. Besides, you've always got me by your side!" I told him. "Yeah, I know! I'm glad your mom let you stay with me. I've needed more support than I realized." he said.
I gave him a big smile and heard a knock at the door. "Oh! That must be our breakfast!" I cheered and got up to go answer the door. "Breakfast?" Mr. Shadow asked, confused. I opened up the door and the delivery guy was standing there.
"Hello Mister!" I greeted. "Hey kid, I've got a delivery for, Cream the rabbit?" he questioned. "That's me!" "Alright kid, here you go. Everything you ordered are in these. Just call if you need anything else. Manager said anything you want is on the house after that rant you went on about!" he explained with a smile. "Ooh really? Tell him I said thank you!" I replied, taking the bag. He dipped his hat and then walked away to get on his motorbike.
"A little help?" I pleaded as the bags began to get heavier in my hands. "Heh, you're a miracle child alright." Mr. Shadow chuckled, then takes the food packages from my hands. We set up everything on the table and only then did Tails and Charmy woke up to see we had food ready for them. "Charmy! Tails! We got food!" I greeted and ran up to hug them. "Oh, hey Cream! What's for breakfast?" Tails asked curiously. "We got pancakes, waffles, muffins, some toast, eggs, and yogurt!" I replied smiling so brightly. "Sounds delicious!" Charmy cheered.
We sat down together and dug into our breakfast. I was so happy to have my best friends with me after everything that's been going on. While I was having a good time with everyone, I could see that Mr. Shadow was still upset. He just poked at the food. I wish he would smile. "Hey, guys, I think that Mr. Shadow needs some hugs!" I told them and began to get up from my chair. Tails and Charmy looked at him too and smiled. "Yeah! I do too!" Tails replied. "Chew chew!" Cheese chimed. "Hugs are coming your way Shadow!" Charmy said and flew over towards him. We all hugged him tightly, giving all the love he was missing over the past few days.
Shadow's P.O.V
They always know what to do... I barely smiled but I tried my best to seem better. "We love you Mr. Shadow!" Cream said, holding onto me tightly.
Cute. I always felt alone without them or Cream around. Thank God I have someone to keep me sane and in place. "I love you guys too." I sighed. After a couple of minutes we cleaned up the kitchen and surprisingly they wanted to help me out about. It was really touching I'm not going to lie. Next thing I knew, they began building a huge pillow fort in the middle of the living room. They were giggly, they were laughing, and everything that was good. I teased them, played with them, gently tossed them into the air and let them land on the pillows.
I didn't want this to end. Seeing their happiness meant the world to me. That's when I felt a vibration in my pocket. I took out my phone and realized that there were a bunch of text messages that I'd miss. It was from a group chat with all of us were included in. I was wondering what was going on so I opened my phone to see what was going on.
Amy: He's awake! Really? OMG!!🤯
Sonic: Dude that's fricking awesome! I knew he'd wake up soon!😆
Rouge: I knew he'd wake up soon!😁
Silver: Nothing can keep him down forever!🙃
Knuckles: YES! Thank god! I was wondering how that went over!
Vector: Yeah he's doing much better! His leg is still very much broken but he'll heal pretty fast according to the doctors!
Sally: That's so cool! Tell him we said hi!
Blaze: We miss him! Hopefully we can come see him soon!
Vector: He might be leaving later today so we'll be seeing you guys soon!
Amy: Does Shadow know about any of this?🤨
Blaze: I don't think so, he might've not seen the texts yet
Sonic: Maybe he's busy?
Vector: Probably, I mean I did leave him with four kids without telling him where I was going
Geez, I didn't even realize all of this happened! But Espio was awake? I knew he'd come around soon but who knew it'd be this fast. Either way, I had some good news for my little companions. "Hey guys, I've got some good news," I began and they stopped hitting each other with the pillows and looked at me. "Espio just woke up in the hospital about two hours ago! He's doing much better than he was when he was pulled from that pit. His leg's still broken though." I told them.
Their eyes lit up hearing the news of Espio, which I knew made them happy. "When is he coming to come see us? I want to see him!" Charmy asked, eager to see his best friend. "Let me see,"
I went back into the group chat to text them about everything we've heard so far.
Shadow: Hey guys, sorry I didn't say anything earlier, I was busy with Tails, Cream, Cheese, and Charmy. How's Espio?
Vector: Oh yeah sorry about that! I meant to leave a note but I left too late. He's doing good though. More than ready to leave.😅
Shadow: I believe it! Glad to hear he's better. Charmy and the others want to now when they can see him. They're more than excited after I told them the news.🙂
Vector: If everything goes according to plan, he should be able to come later this afternoon!😁
Amy: Oh! If that works out, we can all meet at my house!! Unless somebody else want to use their own house?
Blaze: I would, but mine is so cluttered
Knuckles: I mean you do got the biggest house
Amy: Ok! My house it is!
Rouge: Is there a specific time we should be there?
Vector: We should get released by 3, would that work?
Sonic: We'll all get there around 2:30ish, then we can see Espio then?
Silver: Sounds good to me! It'll take me a while to get there, I've got a mission in the future but I'll be quick!
Amy: Alright, I guess I'll expect you guys to be there around 2:30! See you guys soon!
Shadow: Cya guys
Knuckles: Bye!
Rouge: Cya guys soon!
Blaze: Baii!!

After getting it sorted out I looked at the little ones and they were just staring at me the whole time. "So, apparently we'll be going to meet everyone over at Amy's house. But I've gotta run a few errands before we go there. Do you guys mind being dragged for a little bit?" I explained to them. "Yay! Anything to see Espio eventually!" Charmy cheered and began to fly all around the room. "I'm excited! I love running errands!" Tails replied.
"Alright, well, gather anything you might need and I'll wait for you guys outside." I told them. They all ran back towards their rooms and I headed towards the front lawn to wait. Looking back at my text messages, I could feel my heart barely tighten knowing that Sonic was going to be there at the gathering. We haven't talked since the day he rejected me. So I'm not sure how this is going to work out for either of us. Hopefully, he didn't try to apologize for anything. Mainly because I simply don't want to hear it. But mostly because I don't want to have to see someone who hurt me so much.
A tear fell down my cheek just thinking about it. Suddenly, I felt something hugging my leg. "Don't cry Mr. Shadow. I know you must be sad about Mr. Sonic, but you told me that you'll find someone else to love! Cheer up Mr. Shadow! It's going to get better!" Cream. Always knows how to bring back a smile to my face. "Thanks Cream. Are the others ready?" I asked. "Almost! They had to grab a couple of things real quick!" she replied, still beaming.
Right when she finished her sentence, the other two raced out the door. "We're ready!" Tails said. We walked around my house to get to my small car garage and rolled out my motorcycle. "Alright, one of you can hop on my shoulders, and then two of you can take a seat." I told them. "I call shot gun!" Cream shouted. "Dibs on the shoulders!" Charmy cheered. "I'm fine with the back!" Tails replied, then they all hopped on. "Chew chew!" Cheese said, settling on the middle of my bike handles.
I gave each one a helmet to fit on their much smaller heads. Then I started up the engine and made the engine roar. "Ready?" I asked. "Ready!" they shouted. I smiled and we zoomed off into the distance.
