Shadow's P.O.V
The rest of that evening was nice. Sonic ended up staying the night at our place and we cuddled up together. Cream and the others were more than supportive of us. Waking up next to him was a gift. I couldn't believe he loved me back. To think I almost lost him too... Don't think so negatively... you have him by your side now. As I rolled over to look at him, he was still resting. But I took this time to show him love physically. He's so perfect. I sighed and brought him in closer so I could feel his head against my chest. Just as I got comfy, my phone began to buzz.
Ugh, why are there several elements that kill the moment? I grumbled as I grabbed the phone and saw the group chat was going off. I didn't pay much attention until I started reading it better.
Blaze: Guys, guys, we've gotta get Sonic and Shadow's attention!
Amy: Why's that?
Blaze: Okay, so I was walking back home the other day from running some errands when I came across two hedgehogs having a- special moment UwU

Rouge: EEEKK!!!! Was this last night??
Blaze: YES! OMG it was so beautiful!

Knuckles: HAHAHA! Shadow got caught red-handed!!!
Espio: Wow, didn't think you'd get this good of a picture!
Silver: Awww! How sweet! Why aren't they responding???? I NEED TO KNOW MORE!!!
Amy: IDK!!! Maybe they're asleep??
Sally: Wait- Sonic had the hots for Shadow all along?? AND NO ONE TOLD ME??
Knuckles: I didn't find out until a few days ago. But yeah he does! It's just now confirmed ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sally: I wish they would hurry up and answer! Like what could they be doing??
Oh gosh... they figured out about me and Sonic! I could've sworn no one else was on that beach! Well... I couldn't avoid this for much longer.
Shadow: Hey guys! Um... gosh idk what to say! 😅
Amy: Uh, ok, how about start with how long have you guys been dating??? And when???
Shadow: Uh, well, we just started yesterday. But I've had feelings for him for a while
Rouge: So where exactly is your little bf??
Sally: Did he get too shy to admit it with you?????
Shadow: No, he's still asleep. But he'll be flustered when he finds out about this.
Silver: Good! That's what happens when you don't inform us right away!
Knuckles: Yeah! We need to know this stuff!
Shadow: Oh give me a break! You guys can't be talking either! Silver, I saw you and Blaze smooching up a storm the other day, and Knuckles, I saw you and Rouge cuddling on Angel Island! Don't even with me!

Blaze: SHADOW!!!!😡
Knuckles: *Knuckles has left the chat*
Rouge: Ugh, rly Shadow????😡
Amy: Run that last part by me again-😅

Espio: Something tells me this isn't going to end well
Shadow: Vector, be quiet. Everyone knows you and Espio are dating
Vector: OH YEAH? HOW?
Amy: It was kind of obvious
Blaze: Yeah the minute I saw you carrying him, Ik something was up
Rouge: *added Knuckles to the chat* Yeah hun, I could've told you that
Knuckles: Yeah sry Vector- can't save you this time 😅
Silver: I can't even defend him either!! 😅😅🤣🤣🤣🤣
Vector: Espio! Defend me!!! You're my bf!!!
Espio: I'm sorry, you made it too easy for everyone to tell 😅🤣
Vector: Ugh, ur no help -_-

Rouge: We need to meet up with each other
Sally: Yeah, y'all got explaining to do!
Blaze: Says the one who's dating Amy!
Sally: Shut up
Shadow: Give me an hour and a half. I've got to tell Sonic about all of this. Plus I gotta find a sitter for Cream
Rouge: You do that hun!
Shadow: I will. Meet at our usual spot.
Once I got off the phone, I gently brushed Sonic's quills to try and wake him up. "Hm?" he murmured and barely opened up his eyes. "Hey Faker, you gotta wake up for me okay?" He was a little grumpy but in the end, he woke up for me and nestled into me. "I love you Shads." he whispered. "I love you too." I sighed, stroking his quills. "I hate to break this to you so early in the morning, but," I sighed and handed him my phone. When he took it and read the entire conversation on the group chat. "WE GOT CAUGHT???" he shouted, surprised we were captured on camera.
"Apparently so. I told them we'd go to our usual place to tell them everything. You gonna be okay with it?" I explained to him. "Yeah, I am. We'd have to explain it to them eventually." he replied. I smiled at him and kissed his forehead. "Let's get going then."
Sonic's P.O.V
We finally made it out to get out to our usual spot and waited for everyone to show up. "I'm not going to lie, I'm a little bit nervous!" I said to him. "Don't be. They're our friends. If they're truly our friends, they'll be supportive of us. And even if they aren't, we only need each other's approval to be together." Shadow replied. I smiled and kissed him. "I love you Shads." I murmured. "Love you too." he smiled and kissed me again.
"AWWW!" Two voices went behind us. We looked back to see Amy and Sally staring at us, stars in their eyes. "You guys are so cute!!" Amy geeked. "My vision is blurring!" Sally added, small tears coming out of her eyes. "Uh-huh, so how are you two? Did you smooch up a storm last night?" I teased, sticking my tongue out at them.
Both of their faces turned red and Sally just gave me a big smirk. "Totally!" she replied, pulling Amy closer to her side. "No! We did not!" Amy said, quickly intervening in what she just said. "You guys are definitely cute together." Shadow sneered, continuing to hold onto me. "Not as cute as us!" a voice said. Knuckles walked up with Rouge holding onto his arm. "Knuckles got Rouge?!" I gasped. "He's all mine!" she replied, gazing at him happily. "Apparently all I had to do was get crushed by a robot!" Knuckles replied. "And all I had to do was drown." We looked back and saw Espio hobbing over towards us. "Espiooooooo! Stop with the dying part! It was an accident!" Vector whined. "Yeah, yeah I know!" Espio replied, still hobbing towards us. "Espio! How's your leg doing?" Amy asked. "Much better, but I can't wait to take this thing off!" he replied. "Glad you made it out alive!" Blaze shouted as she walked over with Silver.
"So is this everyone?" Silver asked. "I think so!" I replied. "Is anyone going first?" Rouge wondered as she looked at us. "Shadow, Sonic, you should explain after getting caught red-handed at the beach last night!" Blaze suggested. "Well, I figured we were alone. But if you must know, we made up shortly after our little outburst." Shadow explained. I cleared my throat, giving him a look. "Okay, fine. My little outburst. Then, the pieces just came together. We're official!" he said, correcting himself and kissed me. "That's so sweet!" Rouge geeked. "Well, how about you Rouge? After that whole robot, thought you might've lost it!" I asked.
"Oh! Well, we ended up working out everything!" she replied. "Sometimes you've just got to hear each other out. But, she's stuck with me now!" Knuckles added. "Does that mean you're going to stop stealing the Master Emerald?" Sally asked. "No way! Just... maybe a bit less to spend time with my wonderful echidna!" she replied. "So how's it going on your end Blaze?" Knuckles questioned. "Well... I guess you could say I got over my fears. Everything that I was afraid of, I realized was preventing me from getting my happiness. So I faced them, and now, I'm much happier than I ever have been!" she replied and snuggled into Silver.
"Vector, how'd you do it?" Silver asked him. "Oh, me? Easy! I just saved his life!" he replied, bragging. Espio quickly hit him with his elbow. "Ow! Alright fine! To be honest, I just, took her word for it." he sighed, taking something out of his leather jacket's pocket. "You can read it,"
Amy was the first to read it, small tears coming out of her eyes. "Wow, she's really sweet!" she responded as she handed the letter to the next person.
As everyone read it, they all got a little teary-eyed. "Vanilla always knows best." I sighed and handed it over to Shadow. When he read it, I saw his expression change. "Shads, is everything okay?" He still looked confused, but he didn't answer me right away. "Shadow? What's wrong?" Vector asked, getting closer to him. "Vector, what type of necklace did Vanilla wear before she died?" Shadow questioned.
Recalling the last time he saw her, he figured it out. "It... It was a ruby, in the shape of a heart. At least that's what I remember. But I'm not sure what happened to it." Shadow, Sally, and Amy's expression changed. "Um, is there something we're missing here?" Blaze wondered. "Um... if I remember correctly... Cream is wearing the same one. The same one that Vanilla wore to bring Espio and Vector together. The exact same one where she said she could see our emotions." he explained, looking at the rest of us. "That's exactly what she told us..." Amy added. "The one she wore the night she came over." Sally finished.
A necklace? I don't always remember seeing a necklace, but maybe she was the one day I saw her come to my house. "But... what does a necklace have to do with all of this?" Silver asked. "If it does mean anything... it means Cream knew what she was doing... she worked it out. She... She brought us together when we were falling apart." Blaze answered. "But, how?" I asked. "I know Charmy and Tails must know something. We need to ask them."
