Cream Knows Best - Chapter 40: Chapter 40

Blaze's P.O.V
"C'mon Blaze!" Cream begged pulling me along. "Okay okay! I'm coming!" I giggled as she dragged me along. She wanted me and Amy to come outside to see the fireflies with her, and obviously, neither I nor Amy could say no to her and Cheese! I was wondering why she wanted us to come so late at night. Maybe to have a girl's night since it had been a while? Probably so! Either way, I was so happy! I tried to convince Silver to come but he said he wasn't feeling too well.
As Cream and Cheese ran ahead of us for a second, I looked over at Amy who was looking at all the beautiful flowers. "Hey Amy, didn't Sally come with you?" I asked her. She turned around and shook her head. "No, she said something came up in her kingdom and she had to take care of it real quick. I'm hoping it's not too long though," she sighed.
I knew she didn't want Sally to be too far, but it'd be okay. "She'll be back before you know it. Don't worry! Enjoy tonight!" I encouraged. She beamed again and smoothed out her dress. "I wonder why Cream wanted us to dress up so nice tonight!" she replied. "I know! We aren't even going to dinner. Oh well, we shouldn't let it bother us! We're her big sisters!" I replied. "You're right! Now come on!" Amy cheered and we both ran after Cream. "C'mon you two! The fireflies are coming! We're supposed to meet Tails and Charmy over here!" Cream instructed us. "Chew Chew!" Cheese added.
"Alright! We're coming!"
Espio's P.O.V
Charmy was pulling my arm, trying to get me to hurry up. "C'mon Espio! I don't want to miss my friends!" he urged. "Alright, Charm! I'm trying my best! It's not easy trying to learn how to walk again!" I chuckled. "Oh, right! Sorry!" he replied, a little flustered. I brought him to my side and hugged him tightly, missing our moments as big brother and little brother. "Vector would've loved coming out tonight. I wish he didn't have a stomach bug." I sighed.
"He'll be fine! Maybe he had too much cheesecake?" he proposed. "Perhaps." I chuckled. Right after that, he seemed to be trying to ask me something.
"Espio, are you and Vector going to have kids?" he asked. My body started turning a burning red and I wasn't sure what to say about that. "U-Um I'm not sure! Depends on what Vector wants. To be honest, you're all the kid we really need." I replied happily. He smiled and nuzzled me tenderly. "I'd be a good uncle I promise!" I gave a small chuckle and looked at him happily "I know you would Charmy."
After one last hug, he began to fly again. "C'mon! We're supposed to meet the others! I don't want to be late!" he urged. "Alright! I'm trying to hurry!" I smiled and then trotted after him.
Rouge's P.O.V
Tails had dragged both me and Sonic all the way out here so we could see the fireflies. Not that I minded at all! Knuckles said he got some weird intuition about someone grabbing the Master Emerald, but, I can't blame him. Not after I've stolen it multiple times! "C'mon guys! We're almost there!" Tails pleaded, pulling on Sonic's arm. "Buddy, we're coming! Plus, there's no need to rush!" Sonic cried.
"But you were the one who was in a hurry to head out the door!" Tails whined back. I giggled at their silly siblinghood and how they were handling the situation. I wonder why Shadow didn't come with them today. "Hey, blue boy, where's your boyfriend?" I questioned, genuinely curious. "He said he had a G.U.N mission come up at the last minute. It stinks but I understand, it is his job after all!" he replied.
That's odd. Usually, Shadow and I take on missions together. Maybe he had a separate one this time? "What about your boyfriend?" "He had this strange vision that someone was going to steal the Master Emerald. So he stayed back and told me to go have fun anyway!" I explained briefly.
"Are you sure he's okay?" Tails asked. "I'm not sure, honestly, I've never seen him so nervous before! Right before I left he seemed so anxious!" Both of them shrugged their shoulders and we kept walking. That's where we met up with the rest of our friends. "Rouge, heyyyy!" Amy greeted me and ran up to hug me. "Hey Amy! Cream! Cheese!" I greeted and knelt down to hug the rest. "What? No hugs?" Blaze teased reaching out to hug me. "I was heading your way!" I giggled and then looked back to see Espio and Charmy coming into view. "Tails! Cream! Cheese!" Charmy cheered and all four of them ran off together into the woods.
We all had a laugh as they ran off and looked at each other. "I'm guessing you guys were dragged here too?" Espio asked us. We quickly nodded our heads and snickered. "I don't mind! It's about time I get back with nature!" I replied. "Anything for Cream! But is there a reason Shadow didn't take her?" Blaze asked. "G.U.N mission," Sonic replied. "I was a little bummed out but it'll be fun either way!" he added. "Yeah! I wish Silver would've come but he's a bit under the weather." she sighed.
"Don't worry guys! We're going to have fun! Now, we better chase after those four! Who knows what they could be planning!" I told them and we walked together into the woods.
Cream's P.O.V
We purposely lost the others for a couple of minutes to check on everyone else hiding deeper in the woods. "How is everyone doing back here?" Tails whispered. "We're all good! But I would like to get out of this suit!" Mr. Vector replied. "Same here." Mr. Shadow grumbled. "It'll be worth it in the end! Just be patient! They're almost here and the fireflies know their cue! Just do what you guys have planned to do!" I reassured.
Everyone nodded their heads but still seemed very nervous. We gave them a thumbs up before heading out to the field where the others were beginning to catch up. "There you guys are! We lost you there for a sec!" Mr. Sonic said. "Oh, yeah! We just got very excited!" Charmy told them. "I bet. Let's set up over here shall we?" Mr. Espio suggested.
Quickly we nodded our heads and I looked over at the fireflies who were staring at me, waiting for a signal.
Seeing that everyone was looking in the opposite direction, I waved at them and they went off in their own direction. We settled down on a blanket and looked up at the sky where our private show was starting. All their pretty lights were flashing, changing to different colors, making different shapes and patterns in the sky. While everyone was awed by the show, I winked at them, signaling that it was time for the big reveal.
They came down in our view, flashing lights in everyone's faces. Since they were distracted, I knew the others were heading over towards our spot and getting themselves prepared. The fireflies flew back up in the sky, allowing all my friends to see in front of them again. I was so excited to see their reactions!
Immediately, their faces changed seeing everyone standing there in front of them. They couldn't speak anymore! I was grinning from ear to ear! I made a circle with my finger and the fireflies formed a heart over their heads!
"Will you marry me?" they all asked and opening their boxes at the same time.
I watched everyone beginning to cry and stand up to walk around a bit. "Hehe!" Me, Tails, Charmy, and Cheese giggled seeing that we impressed them.
"O-Oh my gosh! Wow um!" Blaze gasped wiping her eyes. "Sally you sneak!" Amy cried, also wiping her eyes. "Shadow! W-Why!" Mr. Sonic cried. "Ugh! Vector you idiot!" Mr. Espio cried, hiding his face. "I'm not crying! I'm not crying!" Ms. Rouge told us.
I heard the rest of them chuckling about it. "We're sorry, we didn't mean to lie to you the way we did. Or make you cry!" Mr. Silver began. "But we wanted to make this night special!" Mr. Knuckles added. "We made sure you guys knew we were too preoccupied to come with you, so we could prepare for this!" Mr. Vector said. "All of us decided to do this together!" Sally went on. "With a little help!" Mr. Shadow finished, looking over at us.
After giving the rest of them a smile we more than ready to hear their answers. "So, what do you guys say?" I asked. Even though things had settled, they were still very surprised about everything. "Amy?" Sally asked her. Amy took a minute before quickly nodded her head. "Yes!" she cried and ran over to kiss her. "Espio?" Mr. Vector asked him. Mr. Espio couldn't talk at all but he nodded his head while covering his mouth. Finally, he walked over and kissed Mr. Vector. "Blaze?" Mr. Silver asked her. "Oh, Silv... yes!" Blaze replied and walked to give him the kiss.
"Rou-" Mr. Knuckles began, but he couldn't finish it in time. "YES!" she shouted and flew right into Mr. Knuckles' arms where they kissed. "Sonic?" Mr. Shadow asked him at last. Mr. Sonic seemed so overwhelmed, but in the end, it was a success! "Yes! Of course!" he cried and the two kissed. I looked over at Tails, Charmy, and Cheese to let them know they could finally set off the fireworks. It was mostly Mr. Shadow who gave me a look when they went off, but he didn't seem to mind too much! "Thank you!" he whispered and continued to hug Mr. Sonic tightly. All the rings were placed on their fingers and they gazed at them in awe.
Once I knew they were settled, the rest of us pulled out the popcorn. "Chew chew!" Cheese said. "Me too Cheese, me too!" I said. I even pulled out soda cans for me and my friends. "Cheers!" "Cheers!"
Today, was a day my mom would be proud of.
