Cream's P.O.V
It was a day unlike any other, why you might ask? Well, first, read the title. Next, it's because it's all my friend's special day! They wanted to work it out where everyone could get married on the same day. Which didn't make too much of a big deal. But either way, everyone was so nervous! I was going back and forth between him and all the people in the "brides'" room. So were Cheese, Tails, and Charmy. "Alright, kids, be on your best behavior! This is a day the world will remember forever!" a wedding director told us. We quickly all nodded our heads and I helped Cheese to adjust his bowtie.
"We look so cute!" I geeked, looking into a nearby mirror. "Sure, but this suit is too preppy!" Charmy whined pulling at the collar. "Eh, you look fine!" Tails reassured. "We've got this guys! I'll meet up soon! I've gotta go check on everyone!" I told them. "Okay! We'll meet back soon!" Tails said and we all split in different directions. "Chew chew!" Cheese replied. "True, we should!"
Both of us ran into the room where most of the "brides" were getting ready. All of them wore white in a style that made them comfortable. I knew they were more than excited, but some of them seemed extremely nervous. "You guys look so pretty!" I cheered looking at their pure white outfits. Amy, Ms. Rouge, and Blaze were all wearing dressed. Mr. Sonic and Mr. Espio were wearing suits instead. They were fresh, silky, and smelled fresh out of the box! "Heh, thanks! I'm not going to lie, I'm super nervous! W-What if something goes wrong?" Amy cried.
"I doubt it! But then again... something always could go wrong." Mr. Espio replied. "What if I trip in these heels? I've barely practiced!" Ms. Rouge cried.
"Forget the physical stuff, what if they don't like how we look when we walk out?" Mr. Sonic worried. "I never thought about that! They can be picky sometimes. Oh no... what are we going to do!" Blaze cried. "Chew chew chew! Chew chew chew choo! Chew choo!" Cheese ranted. "Mhm. Y'all worry too much! Everything's going to be fine! Just be yourselves! If anyone's freaking out it's the ones getting ready in their dressing rooms! But," I told them, then brought up a small stool to wipe away Amy's small tears. "You shouldn't have to be scared. This day isn't a day of mistakes! It's a day of love! Now, take deep breaths, take a sip of that sparkling apple juice and be ready to walk down the wide aisle!" I encouraged.
They seemed better already! Smiles spread across their faces.
"You are definitely Vanilla's child." Blaze sighed and patted my head. "Are you two nervous about spreading all those flower petals?" Mr. Sonic asked. "Nope! I'm actually very excited!" I replied. "Chew chew!" Cheese cheered. "We'll see you soon! I've gotta give Mr. Shadow some encouragement!" I told them. "Okay! Give everyone else in there some love from us!" Amy asked of me. "I will!"
Both me and Cheese ran out the door to get to the other dressing room. Right before getting there, we saw the buffet table and grabbed some grapes then stuffed our mouths with them.
When we got to the room, I knocked on the door to get their attention. "Oh, Cream! Come in!" Ms. Sally told me and let us in the door. "Shadow, your little flower girl made it!" she added and I ran up to Mr. Shadow. "Hey!" he cried and reached out to catch me. "I'm so happy!" I cheered. "I'm excited too. But, I'm a little nervous." he said. "Can't say that I'm not nervous myself! I mean, Espio always tells me what I should fix! What if something's wrong when I get there?" Mr. Vector cried.
"If there's one thing I'm worried about, it's sweat! What if I get too nervous while I'm up there? Gosh, I'll embarrass her in front of everyone!" Mr. Silver cried. "My quills aren't even straight! How can I possibly glow with somewhat like Rouge?" Mr. Knuckles complained, trying to flatten his head. "Y'all are wusses." Sally told them.
I couldn't help but giggle! Neither could Cheese! It reminded me how the others were acting a few moments ago. Quickly, I took fur gel and smoothed out Mr. Knuckles' quills, I straightened Mr. Vector's bowtie, I brushed out Sally's hair, powdered Mr. Silver with a special powder, and patted Mr. Shadow's head. "Love you!" I said and gave each one a hug. "I'll see you guys soon!" I said, then Cheese and I were out the door.
We both were giggling as we headed out to the main room where everyone was going to be seated. I saw Grandpa Eggman over at his stand, seeming to be looking through his bible. We decided to go up to him to see what he was up to. "Grandpa Eggman, are you nervous about reading whatever chapter is in there?" I asked him. "Huh? Oh! Not at all! In fact, I've been wondering when I'd actually get to use this power. The power to bring two souls together forever. Well, in our case five groups, but you get the idea!" he said. I smiled and Cheese laughed himself.
The wedding director was starting to walk around more and was happy to see me. "Oh! Thank goodness you're here! We're about to start, come get your basket!" she directed and I quickly followed her to get the stuff I needed. Cheese and I were waiting by the entrance, with a basket of flowers, Tails and Charmy were also there, holding pillows with sets of rings on each one. "Are you guys ready for this?" I asked. All of them nodded and we faced the front. The wedding director walked out again, waving for all the old people to walk out and take their seats.
Next, all the parents of our friends took their seats in their chairs. Once they were finished sitting down, Mr. Shadow, Mr. Knuckles, Mr. Silver, Ms. Sally, Mr. Vector all stood up at the altar.
They still seemed nervous but I knew they'd be ready for the next step. The rest of the citizens and friends from long ago all spilled into the chairs, more than excited to see this event happen. Apparently, Mr. Shadow said it was a big event in Sega history, whatever that means. But after they came out, the director told Charmy and Tails to walk out with the rings towards the crowd. "Good luck!" I whispered. "Chew chew!" Cheese added. "Thanks! You too!" they whispered back. I knew they were happy and took seats off to the side of the alter. Now, it was our time to shine!
"We've got this!" I whispered to Cheese who grabbed a few petals. Calm. Gentle. Sophisticated.
Those were the words I remembered as I walked down the long aisle spreading endless flower petals across the floor. Mr. Shadow even started crying himself seeing me. I wonder why though?
Oh well! This wasn't about sadness!
This was about love!
Finally, we had reached the end of that long path and stood behind Mr. Shadow and smiled brightly at him. He smiled back and we turned our attention to the doorway as the music started up. We only had to wait a minute for the others to come into view. I looked at my friends on the alter, seeing their golden hearts glowing brighter than ever. Tears even streamed down their faces. Even I felt a little teary-eyed! But it was because I was happy! Slowly, they walked across the aisle, making it to the end of their long walk. They stood in front of their special someone, hearts still in view.
When the music stopped, Grandpa Eggman walked up onto his pedestal where he placed down his bible. He cleared his throat before addressing all of us. "Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls, Chaos and Aliens, we are gathered here today to bring the lives of many to join together forever. I will admit, I'm very much emotional today, seeing two of my greatest rivals, but now, my two best friends getting married! Oh, man! Alright, enough of that!" he replied, we all laughed at that and then composed ourselves.
"If there's one thing everyone should take away from any of this day, it's that finding true love is never too late. That's what my faithful friends have told me lately. I'm so proud of them for finally stepping up and pulling out those rings. But, I know that their journeys have been very different in the past. But, I always knew things would work out. Fate brought them together." he sighed and looked over at me.
I smiled happily and we listened to each one read their vows and promises to one another. Each word made everyone a little more joyful. I knew I was happy! I looked over at Tails and Charmy who couldn't seem to hold it back either. It was almost their cue though so I hope they'd be okay! "And now, for the most important part of all! Tails, Charmy, may we have the rings please?" Grandpa Eggman requested. Still somewhat crying, they got up and flew to each couple and gave them their set of wedding rings. Each one took turns putting them on one another before gazing into their eyes.
"Do you, Amy Rose, Take Sally Acorn to be your lawfully wedded wife, from here until death?" Amy took a minute before taking a deep breath. "I do!" she cried. "Do you, Espio the Chameleon, take Vector the Crocodile to be your lawfully wedded husband, from here until death?" "I do." Mr. Espio sighed. "Ms. Rouge the Bat, do you take Knuckles the Echidna-" "I Do!" she gasped, interrupting him. "Hmph, looks like someone's excited! Do you, Sonic the Hedgehog, take Shadow the Hedgehog to be your lawfully wedded husband, from here until death?" "I do!" he said cheerfully. "And finally, do you, Blaze the Fire princess, take Silver the Hedgehog to be your lawfully wedded husband, from here until death?" "I do." She said calmly.
Grandpa Eggman took a small sip of water, knowing he was going through the same thing all over again. "Do you, Sally Acorn, take Amy Rose to be your lawfully wedded wife, from here until death?" "I do." she said proudly, her head held up high. "Do you, Vector the Crocodile, take Espio the Chameleon to be your lawfully wedded husband, from here until death?" "I do." Mr. Vector replied happily. "Do you, Knuckles the Echidna, take Rouge the Bat to be your lawfully wife from here until death?" "I do indeed." Mr. Knuckles sighed. "Do you, Shadow the Hedgehog, take Sonic the hedgehog to be your lawfully wedded husband, from here until death?" "Yes, I do." he replied, smiling. "And, finally, do you Silver the Hedgehog take Blaze the Fire princess to be your lawfully wedded wife, from here until death?" "I do!" he said.
"Well then, by the power vested in me, I hereby declare you, mates for life! You may now kiss your forever partner!" he declared. No one waited any longer, they all went in for the big kiss, not missing a beat! I jumped up clapping! So did everyone else. Tails, Charmy, and Cheese even started doing a little dance. Everyone else in the room threw whatever they had in their hands up into the air. No-one stopped kissing! I was so surprised but it didn't matter!
After the whole "I do" part, we all headed off to a private park that was just family, and the rest of us partying a whole bunch! Me and Tails had a dance battle, Charmy got to shatter everyone's ears on the mic, Cheese opened up a sparkling juice bottle all by himself, and everyone else was having so much fun. Then it was the part where all our couples began slow-dancing. It was so cute! The rest of us sat down at our chairs, eating the wedding cake that was cut not too long ago. It was very tasty! There were three options considering it was a huge wedding.
Knowing that they were together, at last, made me all warm inside. I could know finally feel happy and complete. "We did good, you guys!" I told my three best friends. "It wouldn't be possible without you!" Tails told me. "Yeah! You're the one who came up with the best ideas!" Charmy added. "I know I know! But it would've been hard to do it on my own!" I said back. "Chew chew!" Cheese told us. "Haha! Yeah, hopefully, Dr. Eggman isn't too aggravated about the robot!" Tails said in response.
I took another bite of cake and suddenly thought I saw something in the distance. It can't be! There was a ghostly figure of what looked like my mom. I knew it was her. I couldn't have been anyone else! She looked back at me, smiled, and waved. I couldn't help but look back at her and wave back. I smiled knowing she was so happy for us. "Uh, Cream, who are you waving at?" Tails asked me.
Momma winked at me, a small twinkle escaping into the sky. "Just the stars Tails, just the stars." I sighed. They both shrugged, but Cheese knew the truth since he snuggled into me.
Who knows how I was able to pull it off! I know I didn't do it alone! But at the end of the day, it doesn't matter. I just wanted to see my family happy! So if there's one thing you should take away from my story, it's that love, always finds a way!
