In the hospital, Grandmother Valorian stared blankly at Severin for a moment before asking, "Where's Aurora?"
He paused, then a wave of sorrow welled up in his eyes again. "She..."
Grandmother was already old and couldn't be stimulated anymore.
Thinking this, Severin clenched his hands and tried to steady his emotions, only revealing the truth while burying the fact of Aurora's death.
"She was sent abroad last time for trying to harm you. I'll bring her back when she admits her mistake."
Upon hearing this, Grandmother struggled to sit up from the bed. "Nonsense!"
"How could Aurora try to kill me? It was clearly your kept woman!"
Severin's eyes widened in shock. "What did you say? How is that possible?"
He knew Daphne's character. She was so weak that she wouldn't even dare to step on an ant by the roadside. How could she have tried to do this ?
Grandmother was furious. "If you don't believe me, go check the surveillance footage!"
Soon, he ordered his bodyguards to check it.
When all the facts were laid bare before him, he said in a cold voice,
"Bring Daphne here."
"And call the police."
When Daphne pushed open the door, Severin was sitting on the sofa with his back to the door. The TV in front of him was looping the video of Daphne murdering Grandmother.
On the table in front of the TV were piles of evidence of Daphne framing Aurora for putting her private photos up for auction, and pouring hot oil on her.
"Explain it." Severin didn't look at Daphne. He just stared at the TV in front of him and said indifferently, but his voice was colder than the late autumn.
Her face turned pale instantly. "Severin, these are all fake. Believe me. How could I possibly do these things?"
He suddenly laughed.
"Daphne, you're just a kept woman. How could you have the guts to do this?"
"No, you're not even it. You're just an actress."
He stood up again, announcing Daphne's final fate like the Grim Reaper.
"Since you like framing others so much, then go to prison and stay there. I'll have someone take good care of you."
He even intensified the tone of the word CARE.
When the cold handcuffs were placed around Daphne's wrists, she utterly resigned herself to her fate and murmured,
"Severin, in these past few months, did you really never love me at all..."
His voice was devoid of emotion. "Never."
For a long time afterward, Severin fell ill and couldn't get out of bed.
Until his assistant told him, "Mr. Valorian, Daphne says she wants to meet you. She says it's about Mrs. Valorian."
Upon hearing something related to Aurora, Severin immediately perked up. "Prepare the car. Go to the prison."
