At the moment the coffeecup shattered on the tile floor, Severin heard the sound of ice cracking in his bones.
Compared to his shock, Daphne seemed unusually calm.
"I have a friend who works at the airport. Last time, he came to visit me and told me that on the day of Aurora's plane crash, a person with the same name and even the same appearance as she bought one—no, it was three tickets to Denmark."
Severin could no longer sit still. He stood up abruptly and rushed out of the prison gate!
He starteded the car and rushed to the airport while calling his assistant.
"Buy me a ticket to Denmark immediately, right now!"
The plane soared through the clouds and finally landed at an airport in Denmark.
He first bought gifts at a shopping street. As he came out of the store with the gift bags, the frame of his umbrella suddenly groaned under the strong wind.
At the same time, a figure was closing an umbrella under a pine tree ten meters away.
Her shoulder-length hair glistened with rain, and the hem of her gray coat swept over the water-filled cracks in the bricks—exactly the same as the one she had worn the last time he saw her.
"Aurora!"
She was really still alive!
He was about to chase after her when the figure got into a car.
Severin quickly got into his own car and instructed, "Go to the Nash house."
Meanwhile, in the car ,Aurora had turned pale, her hands tightly clenched.
She had heard Severin's voice.
Aurora didn't know how Severin had found out that she was still alive, but his appearance was a bad thing for her.
Thinking this, she quickly called her aunt at the old house.
"Aunt, Severin has found me. He knows I'm alive."
In just a few words, the aunt on the other end of the phone took a sharp breath before saying,
"Don't worry. With me here, I won't let Severin find you."
At the house, the aunt blocked Severin at the door.
"Severin, even if you're going to lie, at least make it more believable. You keep saying that Aurora is still alive. Where's the evidence? Where is it?"
Severin's expression changed slightly. He hurriedly handed the photos Daphne had given him to the aunt.
In the photos, Aurora and her parents were sitting in a corner of the departure hall. The morning sunlight spilled across and embraced her face, making her look so beautiful. And on either side of Aurora, her parents were laughing and talking with her.
But the aunt remained unmoved.
"Mr. Valorian, I don't know why you're so obsessed with saying that Aurora is still alive, but the person in the photos isn't she. Moreover, didn't you say you don't love her?"
Severin wanted to say something, but all his words got stuck in his throat. "I..."
The aunt finished speaking without looking back, turned around, and closed the door, walking toward the manor.
Severin instinctively started to chase after her, but the tightly shut door abruptly blocked his path, leaving him stranded where he stood. He stared at her retreating figure for a long time, his hands hanging loosely at his sides gradually clenching into fists.
No, he wouldn't make a mistake. That was Aurora.
He didn't know why she didn't want to come out and see him or why she let her family continue lying to him.
But it doesn't matter. He could wait. He believed that if he waited long enough, Aurora would eventually come out to see him.
He waited outside the house day after day, and the light in his eyes gradually dimmed.
Just when Severin thought he would never see Aurora again, a familiar figure suddenly reappeared in front of him.
"Aurora!"
His eyes lit up with excitement. He pushed open the car door and rushed toward the familiar figure, grabbing her hand and pulling her tightly into his embrace.
Severin trembled as he spoke. "Aurora, Aurora... I finally found you..."
"Do you know how much I've missed you these past few months? I've been going crazy thinking you were really dead. Thank goodness, thank goodness you're okay..."
He had so many things he wanted to say to Aurora, but in the end, all he could say was that he missed her.
But the "Aurora" in Severin's arms suddenly looked up at him with confusion and asked,
"Who are you?"
Severin looked at the the girl in front of him, his face filled with panic. "Aurora, it's me, Severin. Your husband. I..."
The young girl had no patience to listen to his explanations. She pushed him away abruptly. "Are you crazy? Hugging someone and calling them random names!"
At this moment, the butler of Nash hurried out and respectfully bowed to the girl.
"Young Miss, you're back?"
