This time, it was Rachel who was filled with terror.
She never expected that the secret she had been hiding all this time would be exposed like this!
In a panic, she tried to explain, but as soon as she opened her mouth, a flood of blood poured out.
In the end, everything went black, and she lost consciousness completely.
“Rachel!”
In the last second before Rachel lost consciousness, she saw Sean’s face, filled with panic.
Outside the operating room, Sean stared at his blood-covered hands, his eyes filled with fear.
He had never known that a person could bleed so much.
It had already been an entire night since Rachel was rushed into the emergency room, yet she still hadn’t come out.
A strong sense of unease wrapped around his heart like a tightening rope, squeezing tighter and tighter, suffocating him almost to the point where he couldn’t breathe.
Sean finally couldn’t sit still anymore. He suddenly stood up and strode toward the operating room.
When his hand touched the door, he had imagined countless scenarios in his mind.
But he realized that he couldn’t bear to witness Rachel being frantically resuscitated by the doctors.
His hand on the door trembled violently, and for a moment, Sean found himself too afraid to open it.
He stood there like a statue for what seemed like ages. However, when he finally opened the door, the scene he had feared never came to pass.
Instead, he saw Rachel sitting in front of the lead doctor as if nothing had happened. Her face was no longer pale and weak but flushed and smiling.
In her hand, she held a thick stack of cash-the very money he had thrown at her face when he forced her to drink yesterday.
Upon seeing this, a wave of relief surged in Sean’s chest.
Thank goodness she was okay.
He was about to step forward and inquire about the situation when he heard Rachel handing the money to the doctor.
“Doctor, thank you for your cooperation just now.”
“He finally took the bait. In a bit, could you please exaggerate my condition a little more? If he still believes it, maybe he’ll give me more money. Then we’ll split it.”
The doctor laughed happily, taking the money while nodding enthusiastically. “Of course, of course.”
In that instant, Sean’s feet froze in place, and a wave of anger surged within him.
He rushed forward and slammed the money onto Rachel’s face.
“Rachel, you’re lying to me again! Are you really this desperate for money?”
His anger nearly engulfed her, and her chest tightened with a dull, suffocating pain.
But in the end, she said nothing, as if she had tacitly agreed with his words.
His fury was so intense it seemed like it would devour her. Her heart throbbed painfully.
But in the end, she didn’t say a word, as though silently agreeing with his accusations.
“Bang!”
The door slammed shut with a tremendous noise, startling Rachel so much that her heart skipped a beat.
She couldn’t hold on any longer and collapsed to the ground, coughing up another mouthful of blood.
The doctor beside her was startled and rushed to support her, quickly administering medicine while helplessly saying,
“Why are you doing this? Wouldn’t it be better to just tell him the truth?”
Rachel cried as she shook her head. “I’m already dying, but he still has to keep living.”
She would rather deceive him.
This way, even if she really died later, he would hate her enough not to grieve for her.
A person destined to die will die.
But the living must live well.
Sean, you still need to get married, have children, achieve success, and live a peaceful and prosperous life.
