                    “Rachel, Rachel…”
A familiar female voice gradually grew louder, pulling the long-sleeping soul of Rachel from her slumber.
Rachel suddenly opened her eyes and sat up in bed, gasping for air.
After a long while, she managed to catch her breath but suddenly froze in place. She stared blankly at her hands, unconsciously clenching them.
The sharp pain from her nails digging into her skin spread throughout her body, and Rachel's eyes widened in shock.
She clearly remembered that she had died-why could she still feel pain?
Just as Rachel was trying to make sense of this, someone outside the door, noticing she hadn’t responded, pushed the door open and walked in.
“Rachel.”
Rachel instinctively turned to look at the source of the voice, and there, in front of her, appeared a face she had longed to see.
“Mom…”
Before Rachel could finish her sentence, the tears that had welled up in her throat overwhelmed her.
She never expected that, after her death, she would see her mother again, who had passed away many years ago.
In that instant, nothing else mattered. She threw herself into her mother’s arms, as if to release all the longing and grievances she had endured over the years.
Her mother gently stroked Rachel’s forehead. “Alright, alright, don’t cry anymore.”
“If you really don’t want to go to West Hill High School, we don’t have to, okay?”
“West Hill High School?”
Rachel suddenly raised her head to look at her mother. “What West Hill High School?”
Realizing something was wrong, she hurriedly asked, “Mom, what year is it now?”
Her mother chuckled lightly. “Silly child, haven’t you woken up yet? It’s 2015.”
“Buzz!”
Rachel’s mind went blank in an instant!
She immediately pinched her arm hard. As the pain spread throughout her body, she finally accepted a fact-
She had been reborn!
And she had been reborn ten years ago, when she was a freshman in high school!
At this time, she hadn’t yet met Sean!
It took Rachel the entire day to untangle her chaotic thoughts.
She had been reborn after her death, meeting her parents who had passed away years ago, and she hadn’t yet met Sean. She hadn’t fallen into those painful two years.
Since fate had given her a second chance, she was determined to change the destiny of herself and everyone she loved.
With this thought, Rachel took a deep breath and began writing down the things she needed to do after her rebirth.
The first thing, of course, was to prevent her parents from dying in the car accident.
In her past life, her parents had done a lot of research for her high school choice and finally decided on West Hill High School, which excelled in every way.
But Rachel had always been clingy to her parents, and she wasn’t willing to attend a boarding school like West Hill, where she could only come home on weekends.
In the end, after much persuasion from her parents, she went to West Hill High School.
However, when she came home the first weekend, she was still upset and didn’t talk much to her parents.
To cheer her up, they went out to buy her gifts.
But that night, her parents never came back.
The image of the blood-soaked ground and the car, which had been crushed to the point of looking like a piece of paper, filled her mind again. Rachel’s eyes reddened once more.
She quickly circled the date of her parents’ car accident on the calendar. This time, she absolutely wouldn’t let them leave her.
The second thing was to avoid meeting Sean.
After enduring so many years of pain in her previous life, Rachel had finally come to realize a harsh truth.
She and Sean were from entirely different worlds. She had pulled the person who once stood on a pedestal down, and all it did was harm him-there was no benefit in it for either of them.
In this life, Rachel only wanted him to stay on that pedestal, living the life he was meant to.
As for her, she would slowly learn to let go of her love for him and live her own life.
