Blake had no idea Ethan had deliberately let him go.
The real ceremony had happened yesterday. Ethan didn't want to exhaust Riley, so he'd split everything into two days.
That's why today was just a video broadcast.
This was only the reception party.
Blake searched everywhere before realizing Ethan had completely played him.
He came back to the venue looking like hell, his face black with fury.
But the reception was already over. Staring at the empty ballroom, Blake lost it and destroyed the champagne tower.
Glass exploded everywhere, shredding his face.
He didn't even seem to feel the pain.
Nobody knew the agony tearing him apart inside.
Those glass shards weren't just cutting his skin—they were ripping through his heart, his soul.
Each piece carved deeper. The champagne pooling on the floor looked like his own blood.
"Blake?"
Riley had only come back for her purse. She never expected to see Blake here.
Blake spun toward her voice.
When he saw her in the doorway, desperate hope blazed in his eyes.
He knew it. This whole wedding had to be some kind of joke.
There was no way Riley would marry anyone else.
He rushed at her, arms outstretched to crush her against him.
"Riley!"
But just as he reached for her...
Riley stepped back.
Blake's arms froze in mid-air, confusion flooding his face.
Since when did Riley avoid his touch?
She used to find every excuse to get him to hold her.
Pretending to sprain her ankle, wearing heels she couldn't walk in so she'd stumble and he'd have to catch her.
He'd played along those first few years, sweeping her up without complaint.
But after Sophia showed up, suddenly Riley's neediness had started to annoy him.
Eventually, Riley just... stopped trying.
Blake forced his lips into a smile.
"Riley, what have you been up to today?"
The words felt wrong coming out of his mouth.
That wasn't what he'd wanted to ask.
But he couldn't seem to get the real question out.
Riley studied him for a long moment, then slowly lifted her left hand.
"Blake, I got married."
Seeing that pink diamond made Blake's expression completely collapse. His fake smile twisted into something ugly.
He lost it completely, grabbing her shoulders in a crushing grip.
"That's impossible! You married ME! How could you remarry someone else? Riley, quit fucking around—bigamy is illegal! And there's no way you'd marry anyone but me anyway. You've always been crazy about me!"
He kept shaking her, his desperate need for answers making him look almost deranged.
Riley winced, nearly losing her balance from his rough grip.
Suddenly Ethan appeared and shoved Blake away from her.
Seeing Ethan made Blake's face go black with rage.
He lunged forward and threw a vicious punch at Ethan's face.
Ethan recovered quickly and swung back.
"Blake, I've been wanting to kick your ass for years!"
He hated Blake for stealing the woman he loved, he hated him even more for not knowing what he had when he had it.
They went at each other, trading brutal punches until Riley called security to break them up.
Riley rushed to Ethan's side, gently dabbing blood from his split lip with obvious concern.
Watching her tend to another man, Blake couldn't hide the devastation in his eyes.
"Riley... Riley."
He couldn't believe it.
How could she have stopped loving him?
Riley was done being nice to him.
Her face was twisted with fury. "Blake, just leave! We're divorced—we have absolutely nothing to do with each other. People move on, get married, live their lives. Why the hell are you trying to mess with mine?"
"Do I owe you something? Why can't you stand to see me happy?"
She couldn't wrap her head around it—she'd cut him out completely, so why was he still trying to destroy her peace?
The revulsion in her eyes hit Blake like a physical blow.
He'd never imagined Riley could look at him with such pure disgust.
Riley actually despised him now.
Blood was trickling from his mouth too, and not just his mouth.
His face, his hands, his whole body was covered in cuts and bruises.
But she just stood there, not asking if he was okay, not showing the slightest bit of concern.
Was this really the same Riley who used to have eyes only for him?
