When Sophia got Blake's call, she was absolutely thrilled.
Ever since Blake stopped protecting her at work, everyone she'd shit on was making her life miserable.
They had her fetching water, making coffee, even cleaning the damn bathrooms.
Sophia knew half of them just hated her guts, and the other half wanted revenge for Riley.
She couldn't figure out what spell Riley had cast on these people to make them so fucking loyal to her.
What really pissed her off was that Blake hadn't contacted her once since that day at the airport. He wouldn't even take her calls.
She'd lost her access to the executive floor—couldn't even get close enough to see him.
Sophia had basically given up. She'd started hooking up with other rich guys she met through work.
Married men whose wives didn't give them what they wanted.
Of course, none of them came close to Blake in looks or money.
She'd been working this one fat executive for a whole week, keeping him so busy in bed he couldn't think straight.
The guy was totally hooked, and then Blake suddenly calls her out of nowhere.
Sophia couldn't contain her excitement.
She immediately called the fat guy and blew off their plans.
After getting dressed up, her eyes landed on the lingerie scattered on her couch. She raised an eyebrow, then decided to leave it there and walked out.
Sophia rushed to the place to meet Blake.
The second she saw him, she felt like she could breathe again.
Jesus, pretending to be into that gross, fat-ass CEO had been torture.
Blake crushed his cigarette with his bare fingers the second he saw Sophia approaching.
He'd been with her the entire time Riley was in the hospital.
She was the only one who could have messed with his phone.
Sophia practically bounced over and latched onto Blake's arm with her usual bright smile.
She launched into her typical clingy routine, completely oblivious to the murder in Blake's eyes.
When all her touching and flirting didn't even make him look at her, Sophia got annoyed.
Why the hell should she have to slum it with nasty old dudes like that CEO while Riley got Blake handed to her on a silver platter?
Pure jealousy coursed through her.
She slowly guided Blake's hand down her body, pressing it between her thighs.
"Blake, I'm completely naked under this dress," she purred against his ear.
Sophia was practically vibrating with lust, but Blake just sat there like a block of ice and yanked his hand away.
When she tried to climb all over him, he shoved her back into her seat.
Through her sexual frustration, she couldn't read Blake's mood at all.
She kept grinding against him, and the private room soon filled with heavy breathing and her breathy moans.
Until another sound broke through the haze.
She looked up at Blake with flushed cheeks, expecting to see desire in his eyes.
But they were still cold as winter, cutting right through her.
Before she could say anything, Blake shot to his feet and wrapped his hand around her throat.
Terror flooded her face as she stared up at him.
She tried to speak but couldn't get a word out, her face turning even redder.
Blake's glare was like a knife, boring straight into her.
"Sophia, you think you can fuck with me and get away with it? You really believe that with Riley out of the picture, I'd actually marry you? What the hell are you to me? You're a goddamn side piece, and you had the balls to sabotage my phone?"
Her nails clawed frantically at his grip around her throat.
Blake looked at her like she was something he'd scrape off his shoe.
Then he shoved her away like trash.
"You're done at Harrison Industries. Pack your shit and get out."
Sophia stared at him in complete shock.
She couldn't believe he was torching her entire career over Riley.
Getting hired at Harrison Industries straight out of college had been the biggest break of her life.
And now because of Riley, it was all gone.
Sophia completely snapped.
"Blake! I thought you said you didn't love her!"
Blake froze mid-step.
Blake stopped dead in his tracks.
"If you don't love her, then why does Riley get to be your wife when I can't? What can she give you that I can't?!"
"I've been with you all this time! Anyone with eyes could see how different you treated me. Hell, you didn't even get mad when I leaked those 999 photos of Riley! Blake, you have feelings for me—I know you do! But now you're gonna ruin my life for her?"
She was screaming like she was the victim in all this.
Blake kept his back to her, disgust dripping from every word.
"I fucked around with you to keep Riley from getting too clingy. That's it. I never once thought about replacing her as my wife. Sophia, you think you're special? That's rich."
"You just happened to show up at the right time and you're decent in bed. Could've been any random chick—Sophie, Sarah, whatever the hell. Wouldn't have made a damn difference to me."
