I pulled out my marriage certificate from my bag and slapped it in front of Vivian. "Apologize now, or I'll tell the world about those two bastard kids. You should remember why you stayed overseas for so many years."
Yeah, the reason Vivian couldn't come back to the country with her kids for so many years was because Lincoln was scared I'd find out about them, and also scared of gossip.
The gossip wouldn't just destroy her and the kids—it would also trash the Hayes Group's reputation and stock price.
Sure enough, she bit her lip and shut up. After all, she still didn't have a legal marriage with Lincoln.
If she kept pushing it, everyone would know she was a homewrecker.
"Also, get this teacher and your brother to apologize to my brother—one for trashing a student without getting the facts, and the other for running his mouth and throwing punches."
Vivian's face went from green to white, not expecting me to be this much of a pain in the ass, and the fat kid had just admitted he started the trash talk and threw the first punch.
The chubby brat got pinched hard by her and mumbled: "Sorry."
The teacher just stood there looking lost as Vivian stormed off. I stood in front of my brother, not budging: "Teacher, I want an explanation. I know this school has security cameras."
He had no choice but to grit his teeth and apologize to my brother, but my brother still looked crushed.
I left with my brother and patted his shoulder: "It's fine, your sister isn't mad."
Then I called to tell our parents I'd come home for dinner tonight.
But what the hell, that phone was busy too. I rushed home and pushed open the door to total chaos.
The entire living room was trashed. The floor was covered with broken shit, and there were even blood stains.
I ran frantically to the master bedroom and saw Dad patching up Mom's wounds: "Dad, Mom, what the hell happened!"
Mom saw me and wiped her tears.
"Don't worry, Sophia. Just scratches. They said you and Lincoln got divorced, that this is his house, and told us to get out. What about you? He didn't mess with you, did he?"
I just broke down crying. Dad, who was about to say something, grabbed tissues to wipe my tears: "It's okay, Sophia. We can just move back to our old place. If that Lincoln can screw us over like this, you should dump his ass!"
"Mom and Dad are fine, as long as you weren't bullied."
Seeing them force smiles to comfort me, my nose burned and I couldn't speak.
Only family would always worry about whether I was happy and whether I'd been bullied, no matter what.
I called building management, and soon there was knocking.
But when Mom opened the door and saw who it was, she immediately collapsed, and Dad went ballistic.
"We said we'd move out today—don't push us!"
Dad's furious yelling echoed as Vivian walked down the hall, laughing her ass off.
"Don't mind him, Uncle. I'm just taking back my own property and making sure you move out and give me back my house."
I hadn't expected her to leave school so fast just to come screw over my parents. With red eyes, I snapped at her: "Who said this is your house! I bought this—I'm the only one on the deed!"
Vivian tilted her head and shrugged: "This was bought during your marriage. According to the divorce agreement, it's not yours! You've been living off the Hayes family since you got married—am I wrong?"
Neighbors started gossiping about my parents: "So this isn't even their house. They kept bragging their daughter was so successful, buying them a retirement home—turns out she just snagged a rich husband."
"Look, now the truth's out. They got caught."
The bodyguards behind Vivian shoved us all out. Mom's fresh bandages started bleeding again, and Dad got pinned to the wall and beaten over and over.
My brother and I also got beaten until we were spitting blood, clutching our sides and coughing nonstop.
Vivian smiled and leaned against the wall, brushing off her clothes: "Hey, don't try to scam us! This outfit costs over a hundred grand—you couldn't pay for it if we sold all of you!"
The uniformed property management finally showed up. Seeing the mess, they hesitated before Vivian immediately said: "Hurry up and throw these people out of my house—they're trespassing!"
Property management blocked them and protected us: "Aren't you confused? They live here—have for years."
"This house was bought with my husband's money, so it's mine! If you don't do something, I'm calling the cops—trespassing is illegal!"
"Go ahead, call them!"
