It took me three days to pack all my stuff from Blake's place.
While I was loading the car, Blake suddenly came home.
The housekeeper couldn't stop me and kept pushing him.
"Sir, please talk to your wife! Couples fight all the time—a few days of cold shoulder is normal, but actually splitting up?
Blake stood there looking down at me, saying nothing.
The only sound in the house was me ripping tape.
A long time passed.
So long I thought he might actually ask me to stay.
But Blake said:
"No rush. You don't have to move out so fast."
How could he act so entitled, like nothing had happened?
I stopped what I was doing and looked up.
At this gorgeous man I'd loved for eight years.
Even now, he still captivated me.
"Blake, don't you have anything else to say to me?"
He looked down, murmuring.
"I didn't know she was pregnant."
What he meant was—
If he'd known back then, he never would've chosen me.
I smiled softly.
Aria, you've humiliated yourself again.
I felt bitter.
Why was he the one who got someone pregnant and ran away from his wedding, while I'm stuck skulking around like some dirty little secret?
I dropped the box and stood up, rushing toward him.
Slap after slap echoed across his face.
Until my hand stung.
But he just tilted his head, watching me fall apart.
"Feel better now?"
"If not, this cheek's all yours too."
Before he could finish—
I crashed my lips against his.
Blake froze for a second.
Then cupped my head, kissing back just as hard.
The long-overdue touch left us both breathless, until I tasted blood.
I bit my swollen lip, fighting back tears.
"Blake, abandoning me comes with a price."
He stared into my eyes for a long moment before saying:
"Fine. Whatever you want."
