I keep my arms around Natalie as my head rests against her chest, she keeps her lips pressed against my head, kissing gently.
"Why don't you come with us? You'll have Charlie on the way home." I ask, whispering as I don't let go of her because I'm not ready to say goodbye already.
"As much as I'd love to, I think I'd end up killing Charlie and I have a little kitten to take care of because of you." She laughs a little, she rubs my back...I still don't pull away, I inhale her strong perfume, feeling safe where I am.
"Change of plans, I'm staying." I say and she laughs, she leans back slightly, cupping my face, making me look up at her.
She smiles, looking at me and my nose scrunches as I my eyes go blurry as they water. I keep my arms around her, hugging her waist.
"Don't cry, darling." She pulls my face against her.
"I can't go, Natalie. Seriously. I don't want to, I miss you too much already." I start sobbing into her hoodie, I've been worse leaving before...It's not easy, especially since me and Natalie are very clingy, our relationship is constant touches—by that I mean our little brushes of fingers or shoulders as we walk past one another, we always touch to show our love.
"I'll come see you so soon, my beautiful girl." She whispers, running her hands through my hair as I keep sobbing since I find it really difficult...I hate leaving, I hate waking up in the morning alone, I hate not hearing the whispers while I fall asleep about her loving me, I hate not being drowned in her kisses and not being able to look into her eyes face to face.
"I hate it there, I have nobody."
"You have Professor Goldberg." She jokes calling Professor Moore, Goldberg because of that show.
"It's not the same."
"Is she that bad in bed, huh?" Natalie asks and I laugh a little, wiping my eyes as she wraps her arms around my shoulders.
"I hate leaving." I whisper, my head against her chest as we both stand against one another for a second, making the most of the last hug or physical contact for awhile.
"I hate you leaving but at least I'll have my bed to myself and not wake up with your hair in my face." She laughs and I smile, laughing too.
"Shut up, we're supposed to have a romantic moment." I tell her and she snorts.
"This isn't romantic? I suppose your definition of romantic is being bent over a desk." She says and I pull back from her as I look at her.
"No—not when afterwards it hurts to sit down!" I give out and she smiles at me.
I huff, dropping my shoulders as I realise I should go...
I glance down the driveway to Charlie's car, he sits, looking at his phone, he's used to the waiting...
"You're going to be alright." She tells me, I look back to her and she looks at me serious. I scrunch my nose up again.
"I feel so alone there...It's so difficult, having nobody—"
"You have me—"
"I can't get your hugs or anything—I cry in your hoodies sometimes—I know it's stupid but I just get so overwhelmed." I sniffle and she searches my eyes.
"I'll book a hotel close by when I go inside, I'm sure someone will offer to mind a calm cat and a wild kitten—"
"Really?" I ask, looking at her. She nods.
"I'll try stay for a week, if I can. If you feel upset or alone, you know that you can call me, I love you." She tells me and I nod, I hug her tighter and she kisses my head again.
"I love you to the moon and to Saturn." I smile a little and she sighs.
"That songs in my playlist." She says and I lift my head again, looking at her.
"Your Taylor swift playlist? Have you given in and made one?" I question, searching her eyes quickly, making her laugh a little.
"No, I have a playlist of songs that I made for you." She says and I smile.
"Really?"
"Yes, you've grown on me, darling, I've made playlists about you like you have done." She rolls her eyes and I grab her face, kissing her. She smiles against my lips, I pull back looking up at her.
"I should go before Charlie kills me, shouldn't I?" I glance to the car and Natalie hums.
"I suppose you should." She says, I look back to her, we both look at each other for a few seconds.
I lean up, kissing her once more before we hug again. We stay like that for a second, in each others embrace.
I pull back, huffing. I look at her and she nods, smiling slightly.
I have to force my body to move, I go to walk down the steps but she pulls me back, kissing me again. I gasp a little before I keep my lips against hers as she holds my face, I smile.
She pulls back.
"Sorry, I couldn't resist it...Now go before I pull you back inside, be safe, my beautiful girl...Take care of yourself, make sure of it. Call me at anytime." She tells me and I smile nodding.
"I love you." I say and she smiles back.
"I love you, I'll see you next week—if I can.." She says and I smile walking down the steps, wanting to run back..go up to bed and sleep, cuddled up with her.
I glance back and she blows me a kiss, I run back up the concrete driveway to her and she starts laughing.
"One more kiss." I say, I kiss her quickly before I run back down the steps.
"Don't miss me too much!" I say waving my hand, forcing myself to not turn back as much as I want to.
I pull the car door open as I glance back up the drive to Natalie who's leaning against the door frame with a smile on her face as she waves.

"What is this song?" Charlie laughs and I huff looking to him.
"Taylor swift? How do you not know this song?" I ask as Charlie rolls his eyes. I bring my legs up to my chest.
"Now I'm waiting by the phone like I'm sitting in an airport bar." I turn up the radio, singing along with the lyrics. Charlie puts a finger to his ear and I hit his arm.
"I hate you." I huff as he focuses on the road.
"No you don't, chicken." He laughs, I sit back.
"Shut up, I know I don't. Anyway, how's Kai?" I ask and he glances to me.
"He came over last night."
"You left at like one am!"
"I haven't seen him in like a week, don't judge me!" He gives out and I laugh. I turn on my phone, scrolling through one of my playlists to pick the next song.
"Play 'Vienna' by Billy Joel, it's your song." He tells me, I huff, sitting back as I search it up before playing it. I put my phone down on my lap as it plays.
I look out the window at the trees in the distant, past some cars that are also on the highway. Charlie hums along to the song and I smile.
"Excited to see Professor hot stuff?" He asks and I scoff, rolling my eyes.
"Do not say that near Natalie, she will spank the both of us."
"All these women are after you, maybe I should call you the hot stuff." He laughs, turning down the radio slightly as one hand stays on the wheel.
"I wonder why." I smile, putting my feet up on the dashboard. He laughs and I keep smiling.
"Why don't you do an open relationship while being at Yale? Get some while you're up here at least." He tells me and I roll my eyes...again at his suggestion.
"I don't want Professor Moore, I only want my Natalie." I say and he smiles.
His phone starts ringing and his free hand scrambled to his pocket quickly. I laugh, shaking my head since I'm guessing it's Kai.
"Fuck!" He says as he drops his phone. He holds onto the wheel as he reaches down attempting to get his phone.
"You're actually ridiculous." I shake my head, watching him struggle as he glances down.
He sits back quickly as he gets his phone again, I glance to the road doing a double take.
"Charlie..." I say as a car comes towards us...at full speed—
"What the fuck! I'm on the right side of the road!" He glances behind the car, I follow his eyes as there is cars behind us. I glance back at the car, speeding up—Charlie drops his phone gripping onto the wheel.
"Charlie, they're not fucking stopping! Get off the road!" I shout as the panic rises in my chest more and more by the second. He glances past me.
"Fuck, we're gonna crash either way!" He shouts back as we both begin to panic, my heart stops—I think it does, the car isn't going straight but we can't go anywhere—we're on the highway so I don't even know how they are on this side but there's lines of cars beside us we can't reverse.
"Charlie, do something!" I say.
The car gets closer—Charlie swerves off the road quickly. I hear cars beeping—I think I hear Charlie say something..
Before everything goes black.
"Why don't you come with us? You'll have Charlie on the way home." I ask, whispering as I don't let go of her because I'm not ready to say goodbye already.
