TAEHYUNG'S POV
I feel bad for asking him all that. It wasn't on intention. I mean, how was I supposed to know that his mother was like that to him? And it was pretty mean to call your own mother a bitch. I never called my mom that...I sometimes do call her a devil, but that doesn't count, right? It is not at all mean, it just describes her personality and her...never mind. Whatever I said was pretty bad and he must be hurt.
More importantly why do I care? I am his enemy and we are not supposed to care for others and that was clearly highlighted in the contract. Oh gosh! What do I do? I am going to go crazy from all of this shit.
"You look like you are going to burst," Jimin said and I sighed. We were sitting in the canteen and I had completely forgotten about my friend's existence. Scratch that, I forgot I even existed in this world. In the morning Jungkook totally ignored me. It was mostly me who looked away from him. He went back to sleeping like he usually did and Leishi never glared at me, probably happy that Jungkook and I fought.
"Jimin. I feel bad," I said and he stopped eating just to stare at me with those huge surprised eyes. He dropped his food back to his box and leaned closer to hear the story I was going to say. So I ended up saying him everything and he kept nodding. After I was done with it, he kept humming and nodding to himself. Probably trying to think of ways to kick my ass.
"You should apologize," he finally spoke and I raised my eyebrows at him. I do know that I have to apologize to him, but did he really need so much time to think about it.
"I know. But it looks like he is ignoring me," I said.
"Then drag him out of there and go up to the terrace and apologize for talking irrationally," he said and I sighed.
"With those muscles and strength of his, he might just throw me out of the window instead of me dragging him to the top."
"Right," he said and began to ponder over the situation. I went back to eating because if you need to think, you need to eat a lot so that you have the energy.
"Boyfriend, 12 o'clock," he said and I sighed. I looked at him and raised my eyebrows in confusion. Did he say 'boyfriend'?
"What you looking at me like that for?" he asked me.
"Why did you say 'boyfriend' instead of 'danger'?"
"Because he is your boyfriend."
"You know this is fake and—"he suddenly he shut my mouth with his hand and shook his head. Oh yeah right. I totally forgot. We weren't supposed to talk about the fake dating in public. How stupid of me. Like I really care what the human beings around us hear and gossip.
"I think you should really talk to him and apologize," Jimin said to me.
"Huh? Now?" I asked him and he nodded.
"He is legit staring at you—don't look back—maybe he wants to talk to you."
"Really?"
"Yeah just hurry up and go. Yoongi texted me that Jungkook is acting like a weirdo right now."
"Are you and Yoongi actually dating?"
"Just go," he pushed me towards them and ran in the opposite direction. I face-palmed myself and I saw Jungkook looking at Hobi. Looks like he is really avoiding me. I took a deep breath and stepped forward. At the same time, someone rammed into me and I fell on the floor, with ketchup, bread and mayo spilled over my head. Why was it always like this?
Some of the students gasped, while the really straight forward laughed. I sighed and continued to be down since I was too tired to get up.
"You okay?" I looked up and saw one of my classmates standing in front of me. Wait, I know his name...Jockey? Jessie? Nah, that's a girl's name...then Jearny. What a weird name!
"Yeah I am fine," I slowly got up, but immediately fell down. I looked at my leg and saw a huge gash on my ankle. Oh my! When did that happen? But the worst part was, the blood was flowing out like a river. I think I am going to puke.
"Shit! You are bleeding," Jearny said and he tried to lift me up. But suddenly he was yanked backward and Jungkook stood in front of me. The rest of the gang glared at the people who laughed at me and soon, everyone minded their own business and forgot what happened.
"How did that happen?" Jungkook pointed to my ankle and I shrugged.
"Can you stop posing like that?" Yoongi said out of nowhere and I realized what he meant. I looked like a damsel who had fallen and had a twisted ankle. The pose I must say was pretty weird too. I look like a seducing model.
"Did you really need to say that?" Suga asked him and he rolled his eyes at him. Jungkook knelt in front of me and smirked.
"Piggyback or bridal style?" he asked me and I chuckled. I looked at my ankle and then at him. He saw what I was trying to say and he smiled, "Second option it is then."
"Wait...what?" I yelled when he lifted me up from the ground. I was totally shocked of how easily he picked me up without grunting or groaning. He was grinning like an idiot.
"Let go, you bastard. I thought you were going to give me a piggyback ride," I said and he chuckled.
"As if," he started to walk out of the canteen, with the gang following him. We reached the infirmary and the rest had to stay outside, except for Jungkook. He was sitting on a chair and watching the nurse inspecting my wound.
"It is indeed a huge gash, but it is not so deep," she said and I heard him sigh.
"Wait...does it need stitches?" I asked her. Please say no. Please say no.
"Well, you really don't need it. If you want I can—"
"No need," I shook my head and she gave me a thumbs up.
"Okay you can rest here for some time. I will be leaving now. I still haven't had my lunch," the nurse sighed and got up to leave. I looked at Jungkook who was staring at me. Pervert.
"Now that I am fine, you can leave. Thanks for dropping me here," I said and laid down on the infirmary bed. I heard the chair creak and right after that the door opened and I heard soft murmurs, which sounded like people whispering, and the door slammed shut. He is finally gone. I sighed. Suddenly I heard the door lock itself. I got up to see who locked the door and saw Jungkook leaning against the wall and smirking at me.
"Why did you lock the door?" I asked him and he started to walk towards me. Okay...this wasn't good. I crept under my blanket to hide myself from him, but he yanked it away and I yelped.
"What are you doing, pervert?" I asked him as he sat down beside me.
"Jimin told me that you had something to tell me," he said and I gasped. Ugh! Jimin! Why now of all times?
"Uhh...yeah. Something...I forgot it—"
"He told me you were thinking about it the whole day." that guy! I wasn't ready to tell him yet.
"Uhmm...I-I-I-I—"
"You?"
"I am sorry," I yelled and shut my eyes because I didn't want to see his reaction.
"Huh? For what" I slowly opened my eyes and saw him surprised. So he wasn't expecting that at all. Well what a waste.
"For that thing which happened yesterday."
"Yesterday?" he began to recall the yesterday scenes and judging by his expression, looks like he got it, "Oh that thing. It's actually fine. Even I was at fault."
"I had no clue that your mother...your mother was like that. I should have just shut my mouth."
"You were just telling me to respect the elders. You are actually right," he took a deep breath and continued, "Ever since I was born, I was just considered as the heir of Jeon's company. Neither my father nor my mother ever thought of me as their son. They saw me as a tool for improving their bonds and increasing their popularity. That is why, when I was just five years old, my father made me study advance level of almost all subjects. I started to learn about business at the age of six, when all the other kids used to fight and play around.
"My father banned me from playing with those kind of kids who love to have fun and considered studies as a curse. He wanted me to be around smart kids. That's why I was always alone until I met the gang. It was all thanks to Namjoon actually."
"Namjoon?" he nodded.
"He assured to my father they weren't that kind of people and something made my father trust him. Ever since then, he doesn't mind me hanging out with them. But he still has issues with Suga and Yoongi. Do you know why?"
"They always sleep?" I guessed and he laughed.
"Yep, you are right," I fist bumped the air and I laughed along with him. I never thought of Jungkook's life like that. I always thought his life was all rainbows and unicorns, but never had I thought it was more like dark and thorny.
"Do you know the reason why I hate you so much?" I asked him.
"Because I am handsome?"
"What the heck? What made you think of that?"
"The day when you screamed to the entire world and when we had our second kiss."
"The day...OMG! I thought I told you to forget it," I yelled at him and began to throw random stuff at him which he smoothly caught and placed it on the table.
"So, why do you hate me?" he asked me.
"It was because you had everything. You had the money, the looks, the amazing marks in studies and even the people. I was just a sore loser who had nothing in life. I guess my hatred evolved from the jealousy I always had towards you. But now when I got to know how your life is exactly, I kind of feel—"
"Sympathy?'
"Bad. I feel bad that even though you are talented and have many opportunities in the future, you are stuck with the future that your father created for you. And I judged you as a lucky guy, but you are not. I thought you were arrogant and a playboy, but after spending time with you, I realized you are actually a kind guy. I am sorry for treating you badly and talking shit about you."
"All my life people sympathized me or they even felt kind of happy because I have everything. But you..." he chuckled and leaned back on the bed rest, "You feel bad because I can't accomplish my goals and because you judged me wrong. You know what? I am starting to like you."
Like me?
"Huh? What the shit are you talking about? Remember the contract, idiot. No feelings for one another," I started to yell at him and he shut my mouth with his hand and put a finger to his lips.
"I never meant it that way, dumbo," he said and removed his hand from my mouth.
"So like a friend?" I asked and he nodded. I made an 'o' with my mouth and sighed in relief. Thank god! I thought he actually fell for me.
"And by the way," he said and turned to face me, "If I ever become gay, I would never fall for you."
I rolled my eyes and he chuckled. We can never fall in love with each other. Because I hate you, Jungkook.
