"You all so pretty!" Arthur exclaims as he stood before some of my family members. Mainly my cousins, and I was actually annoyed that he called them that.
"Aww, he said we're pretty." My first cousin, Marcellus, gushes so happily.
Right now we were at my parents house and for me to see all my family members was kind of stressful. Marcellus...is the last person I want near Arthur.
"Arthur let's go greet my parents." I say quickly as more of my family took notice of him. He nods even though some were interested in speaking with him. I didn't want the attention to be on us, so I tried going about this cleverly.
I'm not sure if anyone knows Arthur is my husband, but I don't think they'd be stupid enough to make any advances. There were some I worried about...
When we get to my parents we both hugged them, Arthur sighing happily.
"All of family so attractive! No one ugly." Arthur tells my mom who nodded in agreement.
"We all have pretty good genes Arthur - your parents do too." My dad just says to him, and I instantly shook my head at them. Their eyes diverted slightly, but I look to see him grinning.
"Yeah, my dad have strong gene. I not know mom, but she just pretty. My dad like pretty." Arthur snorts at such a thing - not even bothered.
I was keeping a wary eye out for everyone. Especially since they seemed to be very intrigued by him. That's not much a surprise, but still.
I know some of my family members are bisexual; or just very fluid. They don't really talk about it, but I can see it clearly.
"Arthur let's sit down - yes?" I say to him, and he ends up shaking his head no. "Why not?"
My parents smile as they nod at him. I watched him walk away from me and head towards the elevated parts of the floor. Could see him going towards the orchestra group and I was confused.
"Mom what is going on-?"
"William come sit with us!" I hear Marcellus exclaim, taking ahold of my arm. I am pulled away from my parents from the middle of the floor.
I find myself sitting down with Marcellus, Charlotte, and there happened to be one empty seat for Arthur - I hope. Though I was also with the most nosy, spoiled, and like-minded people. I mean, we used to be like-minded when I was younger...
"So, what aren't you telling us William?"
I try not to groan as I look at Marcellus. His eyes scanned me like he was trying to find something. Only to look me in the eyes again in disappointment.
"William fill me in! Remember how we three used to be in our teen years?" He reminded Charlotte and me.
Charlotte was reminiscent off the memories - I could tell. I however wasn't really thinking that deeply about it. I was mean as hell at that time.
"Yeah...I'm not like that anymore." I end up telling them, and I see Charlotte raise her eyebrow.
She was older than me by a year, but I forget she's older. With the way she acts you would think she was younger.
"What changed you, huh?" She asks me, slamming her palm on the table. Attracting some eyes onto our table I roll my eyes. "Or should I say who changed you-?"
"It's totally a who. Is that who on the stage about to sing?" He asks me, and I frown. That's when I look and see Arthur facing the other way. Except I saw his foot tapping on the floor.
The orchestra began to play slowly, a romantic start. My parents were - I guess - doing things differently since they were doing their dance first. My eyes moved off of them when I saw Arthur turn to face everyone now.
That had me gasping internally at how amazing he looked. His eyes scanned the whole room - only to settle on me.
"William do you have something to confess-?"
"Tais toi!" ( Shut your mouth! ) I snap at them - even though they don't know a French.
When I say that I see Arthur sigh peacefully, and begin to sing.
Mon...cher.... (My...dear...)
Amour...de ma vie, (Love...of my life, )
Je ne peux pas vivre sans toi -
(I can't...live without you - )
À toi, pour tonjour... (Yours forever...)
Mon amour, mon ange (My love, my angel)
I stare at Arthur in mesmerization to him singing for my parents. Didn't even know he was singing for them.
Even though they were dancing in the middle of the room, I wanted to be with him. His eyes were locked on mine when he sang so beautifully.
"Your friend is great at everything William." Charlotte murmurs to me breathlessly, causing me to grin.
"Yeah...he is. I get reminded that that is so all the time." I smile at him.
"Is he single?" I heard my other cousin - Marcellus ask me. I found myself looking at him in shock. He was looking at me in wait on if I'd respond.
Except I stare at him, looking at his blue eyes. He kind of...looked like me, but there was a subtle difference. His hair was curly and leaning towards black than brown.
I can say I'm handsome and pretty attractive, Arthur thinks I'm beautiful. Though if he was to have met Marcellus first I wonder if he'd have dated him. Marcellus is the prettier one and I'm the most handsome one.
Though Arthur likes to say I'm beautiful and pretty... Never knew muscle was pretty.
"Why? Why don't you ask him yourself if you're feeling so brave." I mock him, trying to hide my smirk. He raised his eyebrows at me, but ends up nodding.
Out of nowhere I saw him stand up - and I forgot this is my family I'm speaking to. They all are extra and eccentric and erratic...he's proving it now.
"Marcellus sit down!" I hiss at him, trying to grab his hand. Except he was selfish and an attention-whore, walking right up to where Arthur was.
Arthur continued to sing as he looked at Marcellus in confusion. Until I see Marcellus grab his free hand, resting it behind his waist. Arthur just looked confused as he started to dance with him.
Literal disgust and fear riveted through new at his actions. Everyone - since they're into drama like this - were entertained.
My parents had their eyes on me and I could tell they were worried. Except I felt something overcome me when Marcellus was clearly flirting with Arthur. Except Arthur was too busy being forced to dance with him as well as having to sing.
I see my parents nod at me, telling me it was okay to cause a scene I guess... My family doesn't listen to kindness. They need you to behave like them or you'll have trouble.
Be fucking extra.
Arthur is a special case.
He always is wherever he goes.
I stand up now, walking to them. Marcellus has the audacity to look at me in shock as to why I'd be there. Except I smirk, looking back at Arthur now.
Our eyes locked, and I begin to curl my finger towards me. He didn't hesitate as he removed himself from Marcellus. His arm wrapped around my waist, bringing me towards him.
Now I was smiling, glancing at Marcellus. He had a big smile on his face as he clapped silently.
"William...since when did you like men?" He asks me quietly, and I smirk.
"Correction, since when did I like Arthur? He's my husband - and I should've said that off the bat. Didn't want to take the attention off of my parents, but it looks like you just can't help yourself. Always making me do these things." I snap at him, and he smiles.
"I do what? Get you to confess the truth? That's what I do, you're welcome. Now we all know what we've been dying to know." He shrugs calmly as if my face wasn't red.
I looked at everyone else and they looked amused. I look back at Marcellus and he was already walking back. Found myself looking at Arthur, and he continued to sing - his eyes practically on me as if he was under some trance.
Had me feeling shy since now he was slow dancing with me basically. Though he continued to sing aloud - right in front of me.
"You need to stop hiding these kind of talents from me Arthur..." I murmur quietly enough so that the mic doesn't pick it up.
I think he could tell I was nervous since I was kind of tripping up. There were so many eyes on me and I felt like I was taking my parents spotlight.
Arthur stopped dancing suddenly, and he took my hand. Practically walked me back to my seat sweetly, stopping mid lyric to kiss me. When he pulls away I heard some squeals as he walks back, singing.
"Arthur is another breed - I'm telling you." Charlotte whistles, and I smile.
"Agreed. I-imagine if him and I were to create a child together... That'd be some breed alright-."
"Child?! What is this? Are you trying to tell me you're pregnant?" Marcellus whisper yells, and I rest my hand on my stomach. I end up nodding and they both tried not to cry out happily for me.
I glance at Arthur again and saw him still looking at me. Though there was this proudness in his eyes. Probably because I told them...
Of course I would. I'm not that teenager anymore; and I want it to show.
"William you always had the best luck. To have a child with that man though...must've been some insane ride." Marcellus licks his lips, and I snort. "When I say ride I mean-."
"We know what you mean." Charlotte and I say at the same time.
"You're right though. I'm having twins as well-."
"William - bitch!" Marcellus cries loudly, and some of our family members started to get nosy now. "Twins?! You're either lucky or he has some strong sperm."
I try not to laugh because now his singing was over. People clapped for him even as he was coming to sit with us. I end up standing up, and the both of us kiss.
That was unnecessary?
Maybe.
Do I care?
Not at all.
"That was beautiful Arthur." I murmur to him, and he smiles at me.
"Like you? I know." He murmurs back, but loud enough for others to hear. They were having a good time just hearing him say such a thing.
I didn't even blush because I oddly wasn't embarrassed or shy. This was even more proof for others to see who he is and what he means to me. That he is mine.
I face everyone so that I could see them all, and I hug Arthur's body. I wasn't surprised that they were recording or making a big deal - that was what I wanted.
I guess...I've never changed after all.
"Mien." ( Mine. ) I pout suddenly, and I instantly feel Arthur hug me tightly to his body. Practically hugging me so much that my feet were slightly off the ground.
"Je suis à vous!" ( I am yours! ) He squeals like a child, and I was blushing now.
"You both are what I want, honestly." I hear another one of my cousins whine, and I smirk.
"William you let all know what I am. You mine right?"
"Of course - no point in denying it, right?" I state, lifting my hand as I show him my ring. He was quick to show me his and I smirk. "We both belong to each other."
He nods in agreement, and before we could sit I make eye contact with a plate of lasagna. Except while I looked at I found my mouth becoming clammy.
I feel my hand tighten on Arthur's arm, and he frowns at me.
That's when I was running away from everyone. I went to the nearest bathroom and found myself throwing up. Already knew it was from the lasagna and just the sight of all that cheese made me sick.
Usually that doesn't get to me - because I like lasagna! Not today...today I don't.
"William are you okay?" I hear an unfamiliar voice, and I was expecting to hear Arthur. Just when I flush the toilet I turn around to see a different black guy behind me.
That confused me for sure because I didn't expect that...at all.
"Uh...who are you?" I snort, and I go to wash my hands. I was a little creeped out, but I soon saw that in the reflection of the mirror Arthur was there.
"I'm a plus one with Ariella." He tells me, and I remember that being one of my cousins.
"Okay, if that's so then why did you come to follow me? You're not my husband." I snap at him, and he frowns.
"I was just..."
I face him now - my arms folding tightly to my chest. He wasn't blocking the door and I could see Arthur waiting behind him patiently. Though I saw the look in his eyes that said he'd be ready to do anything if necessary.
"You were just what? I don't have all day."
"Just wanted to say I admired you being honest - telling everyone who is yours. Good for Arthur - his name right? Yeah...it may be weird, but I have been rooting for you two. Just wanted to say that. I hope for the best...for you both." He tells me, and I was actually surprised.
He ends up moving to the side so that I could leave and he sees Arthur. Ends up gasping in shock, but Arthur had a smile on his face for him.
"That kind of you to say. We not hear such positives often." Arthur murmurs to him very excitedly. In my opinion I was still surprised...we didn't even know him.
"I hope I didn't come on too strong - I didn't mean to look weird." He says apologetically, and Arthur pats his shoulder kindly. The guy ends up leaving us both and I still stood here in shock.
Arthur was now looking at me, and suddenly he was rubbing my eyes. It didn't occur to me that I was crying. I didn't realize how much I'd appreciate hearing that from a complete stranger.
After everything I've been going through with others...
"William not cry, please, mon amour. He have best interests." He states to me softly.
"I know. It's just so rare to hear it that I was shocked. I think these babies are causing me to cry." I try to say instead, but Arthur just smiles as he hugs me.
"Are you sure?"
I still found myself crying, but gratefully. I hug Arthur more tightly...shaking my head.
"Not all."
