"Miss Adams, I didn't expect you to be here, too. Looks like it's fate that we meet again," said Samantha.
Angela's lips curled into a contemptuous smile. She retorted bluntly, "Miss Harvey, are you joking? Nifelheim City is such a small place. We meet often.
Also, this shop is mine. I come here often. Many people are fated with me. Also, I didn't ask you. I asked the person standing beside you."
I was slightly surprised and reached out to tug at Angela's arm.
'Doesn't Angela tell me not to offend Samantha so easily? Why is she so bold? Isn't she afraid she will settle scores with Samantha later?' I thought.
Samantha did not expect Angela to be so disrespectful to her. However, she did not show any displeasure on her face. She still looked gentle. Then, she looked at Alex in a daze.
"Alex, when did you become so close to Miss Adams? Why didn't I know?" said Samantha.
Angela sneered. "Miss Harvey, I think you might have misunderstood. Actually, I'm asking on behalf of Laurel."
Samantha looked at me and smiled. "There was a fire. I accidentally sprained my ankle. It was Alex who carried me out."
I glanced up at Alex.
Samantha was indeed Alex's rumored girlfriend. Her ability to answer irrelevant questions was second to none.
Angela rolled up her sleeves in exasperation. Was she blinded by anger?
As I reached out to grab Angela's arm, Javier suddenly walked up to us. "Laurel, here you are."
Then he turned to look at Alex. "Alex, why are the two of you here? Angela and I are fine. Don't worry. Why don't we go back?"
An unnatural expression appeared on Samantha's face. Even the smile on her lips stiffened.
Javier turned a blind eye to Samantha, a beauty. It was indeed a little too much.
Of course, what was even more outrageous was that he called Alex, and the people around him did not deny it.
Angela looked up at Javier with an uncontrollable smile on her lips.
Looking at Samantha's defeated expression, Angela immediately looked delighted.
Angela had the temperament of a child. She always wanted to get back at others when she was bullied. However, she did not know the seemingly gentle Samantha was more terrifying than anyone else.
However, it had been a long time since I had seen a tough guy. I was more interested.
If I knew the person who hurt Maliyah was Samantha, I would surely not let her off easily.
Vivian had died too quickly. Letting her live was the greatest torture for Samantha.
Everyone has their weaknesses and fears.
'What is Samantha afraid of? Is it her identity as the young lady of the Harvey family? Or is it her elegant and dignified appearance?' I thought.
She looked high and mighty with a gaze that looked down on all living beings. She looked gentle but was only hiding her most unbearable side in the deepest depths.
No one is perfect.
Samantha did not seem to have any flaws.
However, a person without any flaws was the most terrifying person. It was because her flaws were hidden too deeply, which meant those flaws could not be exposed.
That was the evil hidden in her bones.
I glanced at Alex and pursed my lips. My gaze landed on Samantha. "Alex, why don't you drive Miss Harvey back home? Then you can pick me up?"
"Don't bother. Miss Harvey, where do you live? I can drive you home." Angela reached out and pinched my arm. She looked at Samantha with a smile.
Angela changed her face pretty fast. She looked like she was incompatible with Samantha just then.
Javier chimed in, "Laurel, you and Alex should go back first. It's getting late."
I glanced sideways at Javier and thought, 'Now you know it's getting late? Can you still go back to your school dormitory?'
Javier was studying at Novadia University. He did not stay in the dormitory often. He only stayed there occasionally when he had more classes or during exams. Usually, he went home more often.
Bonnie usually couldn't be bothered with him, and Maliyah couldn't.
Javier was comfortable at home. If he came back early at night, he might even have a nice dinner.
Of course, it was rare for him to come back early most of the time.
Maliyah would put some food in the fridge. In short, it was fine as long as Javier, his younger brother, did not starve to death.
Samantha's pupils constricted slightly. Her black eyes looked at Alex beside her. "Alex, I'll get someone to pick me up later. You can leave now."
Samantha looked so reasonable. As expected of a scheming hypocrite.
If it were an ordinary woman, Samantha would have long been unable to hide the anger on her face as she pulled Alex beside her and questioned him.
"No. Your foot is injured. I'll drive you back to the hotel first," Alex suddenly said.
I didn't show any surprise or dissatisfaction with his answer.
I had expected Alex would never abandon Samantha.
After all, she should have always existed in his heart.
If Samantha wasn't a special existence, how could Alex use a different ringtone?
Samantha's exquisite face froze when she heard that. She turned to look at me and asked gently, "What about you, Miss Parks?"
"It's okay. You don't have to worry about me. If I stay here long, I'll find someone to drive me home." I rubbed my sore neck and smiled gently. "I'm hungry now. I can find someone to accompany me to have a late-night snack."
I turned around and glanced at Angela and Javier. "Angela, please help me drive Javier to school first. Otherwise, it will be hard for him to enter the school after midnight."
"But what about you?" Angela glanced at Alex. "Then I'll get someone to drive you back."
"You don't have to. Someone will be here." I hesitated momentarily, glancing at my phone.
I urged Angela to leave quickly.
After all, who didn't have someone?
However, Angela couldn't see that person.
Samantha saw Angela leave and immediately reached out to hold Alex's arm. "Alex, my foot hurts a little. Can you drive me home?"
"You guys can leave. Don't worry about me." I narrowed my eyes and looked at Alex.
However, Alex did not leave.
"When will your friend pick you up?" Alex asked in confusion.
I blinked. "Are you still coming back tonight?"
Samantha was stunned. Her expression was still calm and natural, but she looked at me with a cold gaze.
Perhaps she was curious why Alex hadn't gotten tired of playing with me, the toy.
I sighed softly and saw a blue sports car parked by the roadside not far away.
"My friend is here to pick me up. Drive Miss Harvey back home. Let me know in advance if you come back." I smiled at Samantha. "Miss Harvey, I hope we can meet again next time."
