I slept especially well throughout the night. I did not have any more nightmares. When I woke up the next morning, the sunlight shone through the window. There was some warmth in the cold ward.
After washing up, I pushed open the door of the ward and walked out.

The two young nurses who passed by whispered, "I heard that the VIP ward upstairs has arranged for Bailee Foster to go over and take care of an important patient. Who exactly is that person up there? Why is he so mysterious?"
The other one answered, "Nothing is certain. There are only two people participating in the surgery in our entire hospital. The senior nurse, Bailee Foster, and the anesthesiologist, Tyrone Lyons."
After hearing that the big shot upstairs had woken up, my tense heart quietly relaxed a little.
"Laurel, who exactly is the big shot upstairs?" Sophina had come over at some point. Her eyes were round and full of curiosity.
I tugged weakly at the corners of my mouth and shook my head. Alex's pale face on the sickbed flashed across my mind, and my heart could not help but ripple.
The sudden ringtone of my phone broke the silence. Seeing that it was a call from Lawrence, I quickly pressed the answer button. "Mrs. Herrera. Mr. Herrera has been found and is temporarily out of danger. The news is sealed tightly and not many people know."

Austin stood at the side with his arms crossed. He sneered and looked at me, "Laurel, Kailyn personally came to bring you back to the Parks family. You should feel honored!"
I took a deep breath and suppressed my disgust. I straightened my back and glanced at the two of them coldly. "Why should I go back? There's no benefit in being the Parks family's daughter."
Austin was impatient. He went forward and grabbed Kailyn. He frowned and reprimanded, "Kailyn, why are you nagging her? It's because Dad is soft-hearted that he wants to take her back. Since she doesn't want to go back, let her fend for herself."
Kailyn sighed softly and looked at me with a complicated expression. "Laurel, I'll give you three days. I won't wait for you after that."

The child in my stomach seemed to sense my emotions and moved slightly.
When I returned to the ward, I sat by the bed and gently caressed my slightly bulging abdomen. My gaze gradually softened.
