I followed Rebecca back to the Parks Manor while Maddox brought the family of three back to the Parks Villa.
On the second day after the party ended, there were no reports about the Parks family's illegitimate child online. The house was quiet, and so was the silence outside.
The sun was shining brightly. Nothing seemed to have changed, but I knew in my heart that the Parks family was about to be thrown into chaos. After lunch, the sound of a car engine came from outside the villa.
Through the glass window, I saw Isaac walking in with a gloomy expression. After a while, I heard footsteps approaching from afar.
Isaac said that he would take me back to the Parks family. The room was ready.
I stared blankly at him. He was tall and straight, and his face was cold. However, there was a trace of ruthlessness in his deep and quiet eyes.
He was my brother, but we hadn't spoken more than ten sentences since I came to the Parks family. From his eyes, I could see his coldness and disdain for me.
Perhaps it was because my existence had exposed the fact that he was not Melody's biological son.
Even though he had long known that he was not Melody's son, outsiders did not know the secret. I had ruined his happy life.
After thinking for a moment, I nodded.
"Do you know that your biological mother isn't Melody?" I finally couldn't help but ask after some hesitation.
Actually, I always thought that someone as powerful as Isaac should have been able to tell that he was not Melody's biological son.
"I know." Isaac's voice paused for a moment before a smile appeared on his lips. "I also know that my biological mother abandoned me back then."
"So you hate her?" I pressed.
Isaac shook his head, "No."
I was a little surprised, but in the next second, I felt relieved.
Isaac had been in the Parks family for a long time, so he knew what kind of person Melody was. He naturally understood that even if his mother wanted to take him away back then, it was just wishful thinking. I followed Isaac to the Parks family.
Actually, Maddox did not plan to let me stay in the Parks family for long. After all, I was already married and pregnant.
However, because of the sudden appearance of the illegitimate child, his original plan was ruined.
Perhaps Maddox would never have thought that Joy's appearance was planned by me. Of course, I had received help.
As soon as I walked into the Parks family, I heard crying coming from inside the house.
When I walked in, she saw Zachary sitting on the sofa, crying so hard that he was out of breath.
When he saw me appear, a suspicious look appeared on his face, and he immediately ran towards me.
He held my hand tightly and looked up at me with tears in his eyes. "Miss, take me to Mom. I don't want to stay here."
He looked very aggrieved.
Kailyn walked up to Zachary and smiled slyly. "You want to find your mother? Unfortunately, your mother doesn't want you anymore. You won't be called Zachary Collins anymore. You have to change your name to Zachary Parks. This name is so unpleasant!"
After saying that, Kailyn frowned and revealed a disgusted expression.
Zachary suddenly burst into tears again. His small body hid tightly behind me, and his eyes were filled with fear. "I want to find my mother. I don't want to change my name. I don't want to change my name."
"Your mother doesn't want you anymore." A smile appeared on Kailyn's lips, but the words that came out of her mouth were filled with malice. "If you cry again, I'll throw you out and feed you to the dogs."
Zachary could not withstand the shock and stopped crying. However, his face was flushed red, and tears welled up in his eyes. It looked quite tragic.
I sighed softly and squatted down to take a tissue from my pocket to wipe his tears.
The clothes he was wearing were very ordinary. They had even been washed so many times that the color had faded, but they were very clean.
I felt that these clothes should have been worn by someone else.
One could imagine that Joy wasn't doing well overseas with her son alone. In fact, she was living a terrible life. That was why she had chosen to return for the sake of her child.
"Miss, can you take me to Mom..." Zachary said softly. His voice was a little hoarse, and he was sobbing.
An impatient expression appeared on Kailyn's face. He reached out and poked Zachary's head. Her dark eyes glared at Zachary with oppression, and her tone was filled with sarcasm. "Your mother has already sold you out. She won't want you anymore."
Zachary shook his head and finally couldn't help but cry again.
"Kailyn, that's enough." Isaac, who was standing behind her, finally reprimanded.
Kailyn was stunned for a moment. She looked at him deeply and was silent for a while before she pursed her lips and said, "Isaac, I'm not wrong. His mother did take a sum of money and left. If his mother hadn't deceived everyone back then, he wouldn't exist. This kind of woman treats children as objects. Isn't it all for money?"
After saying that, Kailyn's gaze landed on me.
Her words were obviously indirect scolding. On the surface, she was humiliating Joy for taking Melody's money, but she went overseas to give birth to Zachary. Now that she had used up all her money, she brought the child back to ask for money again.
She pursed her lips and looked at me meaningfully. "Laurel, don't you think so?"
I didn't answer Kailyn. I didn't want to beat her up in front of Zachary, not to mention that Isaac was standing behind her.
If I did, he might not take my side. Now was not the time to fall out with Kailyn.
I gently picked up Zachary. I originally thought that he was quite heavy, but I didn't expect him to be so light that it was unbelievable.
He seemed to be less than 30 pounds. Other than some flesh on his face, there were only bones left on his body.
His face rested against my shoulder, smelling faintly of milk. He wrapped his arms tightly around my neck, his little face full of fear.
I patted his back gently and comforted him gently, "Don't be afraid. This will be your home from now on. This is your brother. The one who said she wanted to throw you out is your sister."
Zachary glanced at Isaac with his bright black eyes, then at Kailyn. It was obvious that he was still a little afraid of what she had just said. He hurriedly turned his face away, unwilling to look at her.
I smiled. 'She won't throw you out. It's against the law. We'll all be your family from now on.'
"Family?" Kailyn sneered. "He's an illegitimate child. How is he worthy of joining the Parks family?"
Her eyes were filled with disdain as she turned around and sat on the sofa.
I hugged Zachary tightly and looked up at Kailyn. "It's not up to you to decide if he is worthy or not. If you're dissatisfied with it, you have to endure it."
"Laurel, do you really think that you can tell me what to do just because Dad has taken you in? Who do you think you are?" Kailyn stood up immediately.
