A trace of ruthlessness flashed across Melody's eyes. She raised her hand slightly, and Ruth understood. Ruth hurried over from the side hall with a vial of medicine.
The liquid medicine swayed in the vial, emitting a bitter and pungent smell. Ruth's wrinkled face was tense at this moment, and her eyes were filled with determination. She took a few steps forward and held me down with the other two servants.
"Ms. Parks, don't waste your energy. Be good and take this vial of medicine. At least it will save your life. Without the child, your life will be more peaceful in the future.
Mrs. Parks is soft-hearted. If it were anyone else, they would have kicked you out long ago," Ruth said as she pinched my chin with her free hand, trying to open my mouth and force the medicine down my throat.
I widened my eyes in anger and gritted my teeth. Hatred surged in my heart.
Hearing her distorting the truth, I spat fiercely and sneered. "Old woman, you're so vicious. Are you so vicious because you don't have any descendants and dislike seeing others doing well? Aren't you afraid of bad karma?"
Ruth's expression darkened, and she exerted more force. Her fingers dug deeply into my cheeks, and she raised her hand to slap me again.
"You don't know what's good for you. You still have such a sharp mouth! After you take the medicine and roll down the stairs, we'll make it look like you've accidentally fallen. No one will know. When you miscarry, you can't blame anyone else."
Her voice was sharp and ear-piercing, echoing in the empty room, giving off a sinister aura that sent chills down one's spine.
My heart skipped a beat. Melody's scheme was really sinister. If it were carried out as they said, even if I asked for a checkup, with her power in the Parks family, she might even have bribed the doctor. By then, she could distort the truth as she wished, and I would be the one to bear all the blame.
I was extremely anxious. I twisted my body desperately to break free, but the three servants worked together to suppress me. I couldn't move at all and could only watch as the vial of medicine approached me.
No one came to save me. It seemed that I could only save myself. A shrill scream suddenly broke the eerie silence in the room.
Melody was originally sitting on the sofa with a relaxed expression, as if she was watching a show.
When she heard the cry, she instantly frowned and a trace of impatience flashed across her face. "Go and check it out."
As soon as she finished speaking, she heard hurried footsteps. A servant rushed in with a flustered expression. She staggered and almost fell to the ground. She shouted incoherently, "Mrs. Parks, Miss Parks... Something happened to Miss Parks."
Melody stood up with a whoosh. Panic flashed across her eyes before it was replaced by deep worry. "What happened to Kailyn?"
The servant looked like she wanted to say something but hesitated. Panic flashed across Melody's eyes.
She couldn't be bothered with me anymore. She hurriedly tidied her clothes and walked toward Kailyn's room.
When she walked out of the door, she turned and looked at Ruth coldly. She instructed coldly, "Hurry up and deal with her. Don't delay matters."
I took a deep breath after Melody left and tried to calm myself.
I shouted at the servants who were holding my arms, "Let go of me, and I'll pretend that nothing happened today. I won't hold it against you."
Ruth sneered as if she had heard the biggest joke in the world. Her shriveled lips curled into a mocking smile as she raised her hand to hit me again. "Ms. Parks, you're the one who disobeys the rules. You're disrespectful and hit Mrs. Parks. Mrs. Parks wants us to teach you the rules. Don't spout nonsense."
She really knew how to distort the truth. If Melody hadn't humiliated my mother, I wouldn't have fought with her.
However, Ruth never expected that just as her hand was about to land, I would use all my strength to break free from their restraints.
Without any time to think, I grabbed Ruth's wrist. Her wrist was so thin that it hurt my palm.
Ruth was shocked, and her face instantly turned pale. She glared at the two servants with a dark expression and cursed, "You two pieces of trash, you can't even catch a single person!"
Anger burned in my eyes. At this moment, my heart was filled with hatred. I pulled hard and pushed Ruth to the ground.
Her eyes widened in horror and she opened her mouth to shout. Before she could make a sound, I had already grabbed her head and slammed it against the floor with all my strength.
"Bang, bang..." Continuous sounds of collision rang out one after another.
Ruth's forehead hit the ground hard, and a trace of blood seeped out.
She screamed again and again.
When the servants behind me saw this, they seemed to have woken up from a dream. They screamed and pounced on me, wanting to pull me away.
One of the servants who had secretly pinched my arm earlier reached out to grab my shoulder. I dodged to the side and pushed her back.
She lost her balance and flew backward.
She fell onto the coffee table with a crash. The glass coffee table shattered into pieces, and fragments scattered all over the ground.
The servants in the room were all shocked by this sudden change. They looked at each other and did not dare to breathe loudly. Their eyes were filled with fear and helplessness.
Ruth's head was covered in blood, and she was unconscious.
I slowly stood up and looked at the servant who had grabbed me just now. She was lying on the ground, looking disheveled.
The other person who had grabbed me was trembling in fear at the sudden scene in front of her.
It was as if she didn't expect me to be so fast, knocking down several servants effortlessly.
The two remaining servants in the room looked at each other in dismay and horror.
It was as if I were a demon that had walked out of hell.
I raised my hand to touch my nose with a cold expression and glanced at the servants in the room with a smile.
When one of the timid servants saw my gaze on her, she was so frightened that her face turned pale, and she fell to the ground. "Ms. Parks, you're a magnanimous person. Let us go. We had no choice. It was Mrs. Parks who asked us to do this."
I smiled and turned to the servant who had fallen to the ground earlier. She lay on the ground, glaring at me balefully, trying to get to her feet.
But in the next second, I picked up an eyebrow pencil from the dresser and stabbed it into the back of her hand.
Blood flowed, and the servant's miserable scream was deafening.
In less than five minutes, Melody appeared at the door. When she saw the mess in the room, her face was as pale as a sheet, as if she could not believe her eyes.
"You..." Melody gritted her teeth and glared at me, but she couldn't say another word.
"Mrs. Parks, if you want to attack me next time, remember to use a gun." As I spoke, I laid a bloody hand on her shoulder, gave her a meaningful look, and sauntered out of the room.
