The leader of the security gave a condescending snort and said with slow deliberation, "Ms. Gunther, our big boss said that you are a source of disamenity and can no longer be allowed to stay here."
However, that woman refused to give up. She glared at him angrily. "I want to phone my boyfriend. How can you chase me out just like that!"
When that group walked out of the elevator, the woman seemed to recall something the moment she saw me. She glared straight at me and yelled, "It's you. You are the one who complained about me, aren't you?"
I was taken aback. After thinking for a while, I realized what the man in the elevator meant by consequences.
I was incredulous. It turned out that the bespectacled man was the big boss of Honeydew Estate. Although I wasn't the one who complained, this matter did indeed start because of me. I couldn't be bothered to correct her. I simply turned my back on her and headed for the elevator.
However, the woman charged at me angrily. Sophina shielded me behind her and stared at her fiercely. "Hey... what do you want?"
"I only accidentally bumped into you. Do you have to chase me out of here?" she demanded.
I turned a deaf ear to the woman's outburst. I looked at Sophina indifferently and said, "Let's go."
Despite getting ignored by both of us, that woman refused to back off and rushed up to block us from entering the elevator.
"Ms. Gunther, please leave this place now, or else..." One of the security guards was getting impatient. He seemed very disgusted with the woman who kept pestering us.
"If you guys touch me, I'll sue you for molestation. My boyfriend will be here soon. He'll teach all of you a lesson!" The woman glared at the security guards behind her.
I raised my head to meet the woman's gaze. Before she could speak, I pushed her away without hesitation.
Thump! The woman fell to the ground and glared at me in fury. Her dark, piercing eyes bored into me. "You guys saw it, right? She pushed me. I'm going to call the police now."
"Good. Go ahead and call the police. I'm curious to see how you intend to blackmail me." I sized up the woman and smiled. "Previously, when I was entering the elevator, you deliberately bumped into me. Now, you're blocking me from leaving. You seem to have a grudge against me, but I don't recall being acquainted with you?"
The woman's eyes were almost popping out. She hurriedly protested, "Stop talking nonsense..."
Before she could finish speaking, a man rushed up from not far away.
When he saw the woman sitting on the ground, he became somewhat displeased. "Liessy, what's up with you?"
The man wore a white shirt with the sleeves slightly rolled up, revealing his tanned wrists. His black suit pants were smart and well-pressed. He was quite good-looking, but he looked to be at least 30 years old.
It was obvious from the affectionate manner in which he addressed the woman that they had a close relationship.
However, the wedding ring on the man's hand looked strangely out of place.
I snapped out of my reverie and examined this guy before me.
From his genteel appearance, he was probably a senior executive in some company.
He helped the woman up. From their conversation, I learned that the woman's name was Liesel Gunther, and she was a minor live-streamer from a media company.
No wonder she looked a little familiar.
As for the guy, his identity was a mystery. Judging from his attire, he seemed quite wealthy but not immensely rich.
Perhaps he had some connections, which would explain how he could rent an apartment here for his girlfriend to stay in. However, this woman had only stayed here barely half a month before she was chased out by the property management.
This guy had rushed here the moment he received the woman's phone call. Judging from the man's reaction, he seemed to be especially worried that his girlfriend would have nowhere to go now.
However, underneath the veneer of concern, he was also desperately trying to find out who his girlfriend had offended.
"Honey, how can they simply forbid me from staying in this place with no good reason? It wasn't easy for me to find a place so close to the office." Liesel held the man's arm and whined like she had been wronged.
I gestured to Sophina to go upstairs first. However, Liesel used her body to block the elevator again. Her dark eyes bored straight into me. "Honey, it's her. She's the one who complained about me to the property management. She even pushed me just now."
She shook her body petulantly and looked pitifully at the man standing near the elevator.
The man turned to me. A look of surprise flashed briefly across his eyes, but he didn't say anything.
The woman turned back to me furiously. "Honey, you have to stand up for me. I didn't mean to bump into her. She was the one who blocked the elevator doors and refused to let me get out. She even pushed me just now. If they refuse to let us stay here, I want to complain about her too. They should chase her away too. Otherwise, I won't leave."
Liesel was clearly threatening everyone. It made me wonder how she could act in such a shameless manner.
"Liessy, is there some misunderstanding? I'll bring you to a hotel first. I'll deal with this later, okay?" The man looked at Liesel thoughtfully. He knew very well that if it were merely a complaint, the consequences would not be so dire that this woman got booted out of the premises.
"No! I don't want to move." Liesel was adamant. She thought for a moment and turned to the security guards standing not far away. She then added, "Unless you chase her away too. Otherwise, you guys can forget about kicking me out."
"Ms. Gunther, I'm afraid it won't be easy for you to get Mrs. Herrera to move away. After all, she's the owner of this place," the lead security guard said in a firm voice.
Liesel was stunned for a moment. Her gaze became a little hesitant as she stared at me.
"You're Mrs. Herrera? Sorry, my girlfriend doesn't know better." The man beside her hurriedly apologized in a respectful tone.
On the other hand, Liesel didn't care about my identity at all. She stared at me quietly for a moment before giving a dismissive snort. "So she has a powerful man backing her. Here I was thinking that she was some big shot."
"Shut up. Do you know who Mr. Herrera is?" The man reached out and pulled the woman back to his side. His caring eyes were now a little furious.
Liesel pursed her lips and glanced at me once more with disdain. "What's so great about having a powerful backer? Does that mean she can do whatever she wants?"
She then frowned slightly and thought for a moment. As if she had thought of something, her lips curled into a disdainful smile. She blurted out confidently, "I remember now. He's the CEO of the Herrera Group. To think that she's still so overbearing. So she has a wheelchair-bound husband!"
As soon as those words left her lips, a loud "smack" was heard.
The man standing beside the woman had slapped her mercilessly.
"How... how can you hit me?" Liesel held her reddened cheek and stared at the man with teary disbelief.
