                    Arthur's POV
While speaking with a few friends of mine, my eyes occasionally went to Sierra. However, just after getting rid of another pest, Sierra was no longer seated.
Panicked, I rushed over and it didn't take long for me to spot her. On the staircase with Maria. I couldn't see Sierra's face, but I could very well see Maria's, which stopped me from butting in.
Whatever Sierra was saying to her, I was proud, but then it turned upside down when Maria pushed Sierra. Quickly, I rushed to the stairs and with my arms around her, I stopped her from hitting the staircase.
Maria stared at me with wide eyes. “Are you okay?” I asked Sierra, who nodded, staring down at her feet.
I lifted her off the ground, carrying her princess style. I needed to tend to her. “Arthur!” Maria yelled as I walked past her.
This made me halt, turning around. “You aren't going to ignore me and walk off with her, are you?” Maria pointed at Sierra.
“What does it seem like I'm doing? I don't want to address this shit right now because I have something more important to do. Don't push me,” I said.
“I'm meant to be your fiancée, but you care about some slut instead!” Maria kept yelling.
My brows creased with anger, but she went on. “Do you know what she did at the race today? Do you plan to ignore that? Sierra hugged Rider K. She let him hold her like they were a thing in front of everyone in the village. It's has gone round the village. She made you a laughingstock,” she said.
“You broke off our engagement because of her, but she doesn't cherish. She is a whoring divorcee. She can never care about relationships,” Maria said.
“Yeah, Arthur,” someone from downstairs said, obviously alerted by Maria's screaming. “Stop being a simp for someone like her. She doesn't deserve it. I believe if Rider K didn't have that helmet on she would have kissed him,”
“Possibly, fucked him too,” another yelled at the back.
I knew them. The first, Davies and the other, a guy I do not very well remember his name. Ian stepped forward apologetically. “Arthur, don't mind them,” he smiled nervously. “They didn't mean any harm,” he added.
He turned to Maria. “Maria, apologize, please. You do not want to make him angry,” he said, but Maria ignored the warning in Ian's tone.
“Why should I?!” she yelled, then pointed at Sierra, still in my arms. “She is the one that needs to apologize not just to Arthur but to me as well.”
"She broke us up, Arthur. She doesn't even deserve you. She has a kid. Do you want to be a step dad? You want to be with a washed up woman? That's low ball, Arthur. Below your class and everything you stand for,” she said.
Slowly, I brought Sierra down. She leaped a bit due to her sprained ankle. The side of my eyes twitched. Maria was making me place her down to address this bullshit.
"So, who is my class?” I asked, my voice low and sending a signal Maria chose to ignore.
“Maria!” Ian yelled, but Maria had her focus on me, a bright smile on her face.
Beauty she had but brains —that I doubted.
“Me, of course. You know how much I love Arthur. I've loved you for so long and finally I have the chance to be with you. Don't let some outsider mess it up,” she said, her tone pleading.
I took a step forward and subconsciously she went back with a step, her eyes darting around, but then she halted, deluding herself. “I know you will come to me,” she said with a smile.
“You are lucky I don't hit women, Maria, but unfortunately for you there are other ways I can make you pay,” I told her, making her swallow.
“What do you mean?” she asked.
I smirked, slowly closing the distance between us. I whispered, close to her ears. “I only uploaded videos of you sleeping with managers to get yourself to the top, conveniently blurring the faces of the men. What do you think will happen when those faces are clear for everyone to see? Those men can easily get themselves out of that mess, but will they get you out? What about their wives?” I paused, smiling.
“But that's not the only dirt I have on you. There are worse and it will not just push you to D-list but off the chart entirely,” I added, then pulled away.
Maria looked at me like she had seen a ghost. Her eyes told me she very well knew what else I had on her. She sure did not know how to hide her dirty laundry properly and now it's in my hands.
She took a step back, and that action brought a smug smile to my face. Without a word, with her head down, she walked down the stairs. This action spread murmurs around the hall.
This might affect her, but it wasn't going to do much. However, her ego would deflate. Next time, she would not behave so unruly before everyone.
For now, I would let her go. Carrying Sierra off the ground, I led her down the hall and into a room. Gently, I laid her down. She hissed as I lifted her feet.
With a sigh, I stood up and turned around to find Ian standing at the door, close to peeing himself.
