Trini pushed Trent out of the way as she marched into the room. With a shrug, Trent closed the door behind her and leaned against it. We both stared at Trini as she made herself extra comfortable on his bed, arranging pillows, blanket and everything as if she had come to watch a movie and chill.
"What?" She let out when she noticed both our eyes were on her. "You guys took forever talking about moon goddess knows what, so it's about right I make myself feel at home now that you're done," she quipped, one of her mischievous smiles playing across her lips.
"Okay, both of you stop it. Are you going to keep staring at me like you've never seen me before?" She asked when Trent and I continued to remain quiet. I snapped out of whatever daze I had been in first and looked at her properly.
"What about the tour you promised to take me on?" I wasn't really serious about it, but seeing the way her lit up when I asked made me stop myself from telling her not to worry about it.
"I can take her if you're not feeling u-"
"I'm feeling up to it!" She bounced out of the bed, making a mess of his sheets and blankets. Trent's eyes widened subtly, their gaze following the damage Trini had done on his bed.
One look at her "impossible to miss" red cheeks made him sigh and grumble under his breath. Taking the cue, she cleaned up her mess- more like shoved everything haphazardly into the bed corners but she made an effort none the less.
"Are you sure you want to accompany her?" He asked again, uncertainty laced in his words, and Trini's eyes narrowed.
"What's that supposed to mean? Of course I'm accompanying her." She took a step forward, one that looked menacing, and Trent did the same, leaving his spot in front of the door, his hands shoved in his pockets as he took a nonchalant stance in front of Trini.
I found both their antics silly, but a sigh left my lips despite it. I had to separate them before things went from silly to serious.
"Alright, that's enough guys," I said, trying to diffuse the growing tension.
"I can't believe you both are fighting to take little old me on a tour of the pack," I added again with a smile, and that seemed to work. They both moved away from each other, their eyes trained on me as they simultaneously rolled it.
Now I was questioning if it really seemed to work.
"Don't flatter yourself," Trini scoffed, both I could see the shadow of a smile on her lips and the playful glint in her eyes.
Trent wasn't much different too, he stuck his tongue out at me which I returned back to him with the same playful energy.
I got up from the bed, and they both followed close behind me.
"You both can show me the place by the way," I put in, before they started muttering behind.
"Yeah, fine. But I'm starting first," Trini rushed to say, and Trent groaned from frustration.
"It's not a competition."
"It is to me!"
"Oh, for fuck's sake," Trent muttered under his breath just as Trini took my arm and pushed me into one of the many look alike hallways.
"I don't think I'm going to ever get tired of the view," Trent whispered just before Trini dragged me to quicken my pace.
His words got myself slowly nominated, and I summoned who they summoned.
Twenty minutes into the tour, it was evident that this pack was a great deal bigger than my ex pack. Hallways up on hallways with rooms lined on them. Everything in the pack I had seen so far was just better, I couldn't put my finger as to what that was but it was definitely true.
"Okay, so that's about it," Trini said, a more than satisfied smile on her face as she glanced from me to Trent. Frankly, I was surprised Trent had let her do all the tour guide duites but I wasn't about to comment on it.
"Oh, and, if your tired, we can always use the elevator. I usually prefer walking but the that would do too," Trini saud randomly but my eyes widened at the words she had let out so easily.
"There's an elevator here, and took me around by walking?" I exhaled sharply, my left eye twitching from absolute frustration and something more as I stared at Trini whose cheeks had quickly taken on another colour.
"Whoops," she exclaimed, rubbing her hands together and I sighed.
"This is not funny Trini, you made me walk multiple flights of stairs," I whined, not even caring who overhead me.
Trent remained quiet but his arms were folded as he listened to Trini and I, a telltale glint in his eye.
"Alright, I'm sorry, but now you know," she said at the same time casting a short glance at Trent, and his jaw had subtly hardened.
"Someone didn't find out until a week later," she added with a mischievous smile, and I didn't need to ask any further questions. Trent scoffed at her words and shuffled on his feet, other than that, he didn't respond to her taunting him.
"Okay, whatever is going on here, it needs to stop," I told them both, then turn to face the place we had come from.
"Trini show me my room please since there's nothing else to do, it's been a long day," I told her, and she nodded, coming to stand beside me.
"Wait, if your up for it, how about we head somewhere?" Trent's voice filled the quiet space, and I stopped, my curiosity growing as I turned back around. Trini has a similar look on her face but hers looked more like a "what are you up to" kind of expression more than anything.
"I'm up for it," I agreed immediately, and Trent smiled.
"Great, we'll take the elevator too because I'm not about to make you walk a few flights of stairs," he said, his words directed to Trini, and she stuck her tongue out.
"Guys..." I drawled, and he shrugged.
"Fine, come on."
