Lunawyn's Pov
Next day
I woke up to the faint light of dawn, my heart heavy with the weight of yesterday's events. The memories of Alpha Luciano's words still remained, fresh and a constant reminder of my pain. I lay in bed for a while, trying to muster the strength to face the day.
Finally, I threw off the covers and got out of bed. I began packing my belongings, my movements mechanical. Each item I packed felt like a piece of me was being ripped away. I was leaving behind the only home I had known for months.
As I folded my clothes, tears streamed down my face. I felt like I was abandoning a part of myself. The pack had become my family, and leaving them was like tearing apart my own flesh.
I took a deep breath, trying to compose myself. I had made up my mind to leave, and I couldn't let emotions cloud my judgment. I continued packing, my hands shaking slightly.
Just as I was finishing up, I heard a knock on the door. It was Trini, her face etched with concern.
"Lunawyn, I still came to persuade you about leaving," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
I nodded, feeling a lump form in my throat. "I have to, Trini. I just can't stay here anymore."
Trini's eyes welled up with tears. "But what about us? We care about you, Lunawyn. You're one of us."
I smiled wistfully, feeling a deep sadness. "I know, Trini. And I'll always cherish our friendship. But I need to leave. I need to find myself again."
Trini nodded, her face twisted in understanding. "I get it. But promise me you'll stay in touch?"
I nodded, feeling a sense of relief. "I promise, Trini".
I stood outside my apartment, my bags packed and my heart heavy. I took one last look at the building, memories flooding my mind. I had laughed, cried, and grown within those walls. Now, I was leaving it all behind.
As I gazed up at the familiar facade, a pang of sadness struck me. "I didn't even get to say bye to Trent," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
I scanned my surroundings, ensuring I was alone. The early morning mist still shrouded the pack's territory, casting an eerie silence. I was grateful for the solitude; I couldn't bear the thought of facing anyone, especially not Trent.
I took a deep breath, shouldering my bags. I had to leave, before I changed my mind. With one final glance, I turned and walked away, disappearing into the mist.
My footsteps were quiet on the damp earth, as if I was a ghost vanishing into thin air. I felt like I was abandoning a part of myself, leaving behind the only life I had known.
The pack's territory seemed to shrink, becoming smaller and smaller in the distance. I felt like I was walking away from my own identity, leaving behind the person I once was.
I didn't dare look back, fearing I might see Trent or Trini, their faces etched with concern. I couldn't bear the thought of their goodbyes, their words of encouragement. I had to leave, for my own sake.
The gate came into view, a dark silhouette against the misty dawn. I pushed it open, feeling a sense of trepidation. This was it – my final goodbye.
I slipped through the gate, into the unknown. The mist swallowed me whole, concealing my departure from prying eyes. I was gone, leaving behind only memories.
As I walked away from the pack's territory, the silence was oppressive, punctuated only by the sound of my footsteps. I felt like I was walking into a void, leaving behind everything I had ever known.
But with each step, I felt a sense of liberation, a sense of freedom. I was leaving behind the pain, the heartache, and the memories. I was starting anew, forging a new path.
The mist began to clear, revealing a new landscape, full of unknown possibilities. I took a deep breath, feeling a sense of resolve. I was ready to face whatever lay ahead, alone and uncertain.
I walked into the city, the mist was clearing with every step I took, my feet carrying me on autopilot. The sounds and smells were overwhelming, a stark contrast to the pack's serene territory. I wanted to avoid the crowd, but curiosity got the better of me.
As I drew closer, I saw the hospital's sign. My heart skipped a beat. Something was off. I pushed my way through the crowd, my senses on high alert.
"What's going on?" I asked a bystander.
"It's the pack's beta," he replied, his voice laced with concern. "He was attacked by some wolves. After he and Alpha Luciano saved a girl, but...he did not survive the ambush"
My world stopped. the beta, was dead?, the beta meant alot to Alpha Luciano.
I remembered Alpha Luciano's words, his frustration and pain. It all made sense now. He wasn't rejecting me; he was grieving.
I felt a wave of guilt wash over me. I had judged him so harshly, without knowing the truth. I thought about our conversation, his words, and my reaction. I had been so blind.
I turned around, my mind made up. I had to go back to the pack, to be there for Alpha Luciano and the others. I couldn't abandon them in their time of need.
As I pushed through the crowd, I felt a sense of purpose. I would wait for the Moon Goddess to bring us together again, to heal the wounds between Alpha Luciano and me.
I quickened my pace, my heart heavy with sorrow. I had to make things right.
The pack's territory seemed farther away than before, but I didn't care. I would walk all night if it meant being there for them.
As I approached the gate, I saw Trini standing outside, her eyes red-rimmed from crying. She saw me and rushed over, embracing me tightly.
"Lunawyn, I'm so glad you're back," she whispered, her voice shaking.
I hugged her back, feeling a sense of belonging. "I'm sorry, Trini. But the beta is dead" I broke the news to Trini
She got shocked realising that I was in a bigger trouble than what I expected. I was now like someone who had a bounty on their head.
"He got attacked after saving me from that forest....." I paused as tears welled up my eyes
"I'm staying, Trini. I'll be here for Alpha Luciano and the pack." I said my words dry but firm.
Trini's eyes locked onto mine, a glimmer of hope in their depths.
"Thank goodness, you're staying"
