                    Lunawyn's POV.
He held my waist tightly, looking deep into my eyes. "Good," I replied, looking at him too.
He pulled me in for a gentle, short-lived kiss. "That's just a reminder that I'll always be here for you," he said and walked away.
Almost before he passed the exit door, he turned to look at me and smiled. I found myself smiling too against my will. I quickly hardened my face.
"I'm still keeping the tough girl attitude... even towards all men," I said as I hardened my face and looked at the bush again before walking into the hallways.
I reached my room and opened the door. I entered my room, shutting the door behind me.
I sighed in relief, but part of my body wasn't comfortable because, after everything that happened outside, my life was in danger.
I had no clue who those men were and why they were after me. My evil sister thinks I'm dead; even my ex-fiancé, in fact, everybody in my ex-pack thinks I'm dead.
I stood close to my bed with my mind racing with different thoughts. I sat on my bed as the bed bounced me up and down.
My face was straight because I was lost in my own thoughts. I started feeling scared at the tension around the room and in my head. I felt like I was choking. I held my head in pain.
"Ahh!" I yelled. Just then, I heard a knock on the door. I struggled to stand up and opened the door; it was Trent. I quickly leaned on the door because I almost fell. "Lunawyn, what's wrong? I heard you shouting from outside," Trent said, concerned.
He helped me walk towards the bed, and we sat down. "Tell me, Lunawyn, what's wrong?" he asked again. I looked at him as tears rolled down my cheeks.
"Trent, I'm scared," I said. He hugged me and whispered into my ear,
"Don't worry, Lunawyn, I'm here for you." I've never actually been this down because of these guys, but anytime I think about what death feels like, I always feel the need to be scared.
Even right now, when Alpha Luciano just got into an accident, and on the other hand, the beta is no longer on my side anymore—who will save me? Last time it was them; now I'm alone. I know Trent and Trini are here for me, but they aren't even one percent as strong as the Alpha.
"Lunawyn! I don't know if you are interested, but I wanted to track the main person doing this by chasing that guy outside..." he paused and stood up, walking towards the window.
"Look at him right there... he's still looking," he said and left the window, walking towards me.
"Let's chase him, then catch him... and ask him who his boss is. We can stop this." That sounded like a good plan, but it was somehow risky.
"Aren't you having a bad feeling about this... like we're falling into a trap?" I said with a scared expression.
"Lunawyn, don't be scared... I will make sure nothing happens to you..." he said, tapping his chest.
"It's a promise... we're in this together," he said, wearing an innocent face. I stood up from my bed.
"Okay, let's do this," I said, walking towards the wardrobe. I opened my wardrobe and took out some sneakers.
I put on the sneakers and went to open the door. I gestured for Trent, making him walk towards me. He passed the door, and I followed. I locked the door before we walked through the hallway.
We reached the pack's exit door, staring at the bushes.
"There he is," Trent said silently as he walked towards the direction. I walked beside him, using my eyes to find the man behind the bush.
"Trent, I don't see him," I muttered. Trent didn't move his head back to answer me; his head was straight ahead, anticipating the next move to make.
"Just follow my lead," Trent said. I nodded and walked beside him. We reached the bush, and the strange man was walking back slowly.
"Wait for my signal, Lunawyn... and when you get it, run after him," Trent said silently. I nodded and continued to walk beside him. The strange man quickly turned, anticipating an escape. Trent noticed and yelled,
"Lunawyn, now!" I ran with all my wolf speed, my eyes calculating the area. Trent was way ahead of me, but I was still trying to keep up.
"You won't be able to run this time!" Trent yelled at the man. This strange man was fast, but Trent seemed to be catching up.
Trent actually had speed up, though. The wolf bent in another direction, and we followed. After a chase that felt like an eternity, we finally stopped.
"Trent, what's wrong?... why aren't we chasing him again?" I asked.
"You won't get it now... but this guy isn't leading us to his base; he's making us run entirely to another place different from his master's place," Trent said, breathing heavily.
"What a trick!" I said, at least I wasn't breathing heavily like Trent. I didn't waste my energy while running, but he was so caught up in catching the guy that he went all out.
"Now we have to look for his older trail. This won't be easy, but we have to try," Trent said, walking towards the trees.
He bent down, scattering the leaves. "There's a footprint here," he said, turning to look at me.
I walked towards him and stood there, staring at the footprint. He stood up, scattering some more leaves.
"Hey, Lunawyn, the trail leads somewhere," he said. I took a look, and yes, there were more footprints. "Okay, let's follow it," I said, walking towards the direction the footprints led.
He followed me behind. We walked with no conversation, our eyes locked onto each footprint we found on the way.
Soon, we arrived at the middle of the bush; there was a cabin situated there.
Everything looked familiar to me, and I racked my head trying to remember where I had seen this. Then I remembered, "Victor has been the one behind this."
