                    Lunawyn's POV.
Trent turned to me and widened his eyes in shock, "You mean Victor? The Beta of this pack... I thought he was dead," he said in shock as he stared at the cabin.
"Yes, Victor isn't dead; he just faked his death..." I replied, walking towards the cabin. So, Victor still does not believe everything I told him before, I thought. "He kidnapped me thinking I was the cause of his ambush and the problem of the pack... He thinks I'm someone related to the pack's enemy..." I said as I stopped talking, hearing indistinct footsteps walking towards us.
"Lunawyn, keep your eyes open; we're about to get ambushed," Trent warned as his eyes turned around, surveying the environment.
Actually, I wasn’t scared since I had already found out that it was Victor behind the strange people watching me.
"Don't let your guard down, Lunawyn," Trent warned.
I looked at him with a weird expression. "I don't even know how to fight!" I yelled. He came towards me, "I promised I'll protect you... Don't worry anymore," he said. Actually, he was a palace guard, so he had some martial arts skills combined with his wolf ability. He would actually be able to protect me, I thought.
My mouth instantly went wide open after seeing the masked men that came out from the bushes; we were outnumbered. Trent cracked his bones before going after them. "I pray he doesn't use his wolf," I said, because if he changed shifts to a wolf, he wouldn't be able to use his martial arts techniques, and he might get beaten in his wolf form.
He ran towards one of the men, landing a punch on his face. Just then, I was attacked; I was so easy to take down. I struggled against the restraints of the men, but they were too strong. "You're coming with us," one of the men holding me said, with a mask on his face.
Trent had already taken some men down; he turned to look at me and saw that I was already held down. "Lunawyn!" he yelled my name.
He was already shape-shifting to a wolf; it wasn't actually his fault; rage can summon a wolf. He roared and attacked them. His wolf strength was intense, but when the others started to shape-shift, Trent couldn't keep up, and he was beaten out of his wolf form.
"How pathetic," one of the masked men holding me said. My eyes were swollen with tears at seeing the way Trent was beaten. They took Trent from the floor and held him too. They covered my face with a black sheet of cloth and took me into the unknown.
I woke up in a dark room where the lights only reflected on one particular spot. My hands were tied behind the chair, even my legs. My head spun as I felt drowsy. I turned to both sides. I was not in my room; I was in a totally different place. I racked my head trying to remember what had happened.
I widened my eyes in disbelief. "We were ambushed... then brought here," I said, turning again to both sides. "Where's Trent?" I asked myself; maybe we were separated by those men, I thought.
Just then, I saw a man walking out from the shadows. "Who are you?!" I yelled as I glared at the man in fury. The man walked into the light, and I was able to see him. "Someone familiar, uh?" the man asked. It was Victor with his mischievous smile. "Victor... I've told you everything I knew," I said.
"No, you haven't... I only asked about your personal information, not about your life... That's why the truth isn't coming out... I haven't slept for days because I'm doing things that will benefit this pack and especially you," he said, bending down to look at me. He held my chin and gently squeezed it. "You won't get tortured if only you comply," he said. I dragged my face away from his grip. "I don't know anything else... even those men who attacked me in the bush when you and Alpha Luciano saved me... I know nothing about them!" I said, raising my voice as it echoed around the room.
"How confident are you? You don't know the kind of danger you'll face in the near future," he said.
"Danger doesn't even matter anymore after what happened in my past life. I don't think I can die again, and my enemies even think I'm dead, so I don't see any danger.
I could feel my heart beating rapidly in my chest, and beads of sweat rolled down my face.
"I'm sure if you tell me the truth, you'll be protected," he said, standing up and looking into my face.
"Anytime someone tries to fix you, bad things happen... from Alpha Luciano to Trent, one of my most trusted friends," he said.
He was manipulating me, but I wasn't going to go down that easily. I would try my best to keep my secret.
"Just answer this question: who are you?" he asked. I hesitated before answering him, looking for the right words to say.
"I'm..." I paused, taking a deep breath. "Lunawyn," I added. "Yeah, I know that already! OK, let's go like this: do you have any clue about the people who want to kill you?" he asked.
I had no clue at all because my enemies don't know I'm alive.
"No, I don't," I replied, my eyes staring at the ground.
"What's the name of your ex-pack again?" he asked. I replied, and his eyes widened.
"After doing some interrogation on that pack, they are friendly to us on the outside, but on the inside they're planning something that could cause havoc," he said.
"Actually, my days of staying in this cabin have given me more knowledge. There’s a lot I have to inform Alpha Luciano about," he added.
I raised my head to look at him. It was already dark. "OK, I'll try another day, but you can't go home now; it's dark. You and Trent will have to sleep in this cabin," he said. I wasn't sure about this, so I replied,
"No, I will go home!" I said.
"OK, tell that to the knockout serum," he said, bringing out an injection from his suit jacket. He injected it into me.
My head spun as I felt drowsy and my eyes began to close. He looked at me before saying, "I'm just trying to protect you."
